Abstract: An apparatus and method for bending glass sheets. In a first embodiment a heated glass sheet is moved into a bending section by rollers which are retracted to drop the heated glass sheet onto a mold where the glass sheet sags into a desired bent shape, then quenched between quench heads and lifted off the bending mold up to the upper quench head by air pressure, the rollers then close beneath the glass sheet and the glass sheet is deposited onto the rollers for conveying to a cooling station. In a second embodiment, the hot bent glass sheet is transferred on a mold from a bending section by a first shuttle to a position between the quench heads for quenching then removed from the mold by blowing air through the lower quench head until the glass sheet contacts an upper second shuttle which is transported to a blow-up section where the sheet is lowered onto a roller conveyor to a cooling section.

Abstract: A ramp ribbon cartridge adapted for ramp mounting of a ribbon in a printer device which comprises a cartridge housing having a first end and a second end, a ribbon stored in and extending from the cartridge housing and on which a printing head makes a printing track while printing, a drive wheel for pulling the ribbon out of the housing, with the drive wheel being rotatably mounted at a first end of the cartridge housing and being adapted to connect with a drive shaft in a printer device, a ramping mechanism between the cartridge housing and positioned near the second end of the housing so as to place the ribbon at a ramp angle to the horizontal, a loose fitting connection between the drive wheel and the drive shaft of the printer device so that the drive shaft still drives the drive wheel without binding when the drive wheel is tilted on its axis away from the vertical, whereby the printing track of the ribbon is at a ramp angle to the top and bottom edges of the ribbon and is wider than if the ribbon were p
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding boards, said apparatus being provided with reversing arm means 23 which comprises a table 21 and a conveyance surface 22, said conveyance surface making an obtuse angle with said table, and fork means 33 capable of pivoting edge resting boards on the conveyance surface from a backwardly inclined posture to a forwardly inclined posture.
Abstract: A suspended ceiling grid member which comprises a web portion, an upper bulb extending along the top of the web portion, a pair of flanges extending outwardly from the bottom of the web portion, the flanges being adapted to support ceiling tiles, and a lower bulb extending downwardly from the flanges, whereby the lower bulb provides greater strength to the suspended ceiling grid member and also enhances the appearance thereof.
Abstract: A device for avoiding capsizing of catamarans, in which a mast of the catamaran is pivotally mounted on a transverse beam of connection between two hulls and kept in position by two shrouds which, starting from the top of the mast and winding around tensioning pulleys and positioning pulleys, are connected to a movable point of a piston device, which is of the oleodynamic-mechanical type and generally comprises a piston head kept in position in a cylinder by resiliency and made of two parts connected to each other by a calibrated helical spring. A pipe with a pump and unidirectional valves and for the oil of the oleodynamic device are provided outwardly of the cylinder. When the load on the mast exceeds the value of calibration of the spring, the piston head opens to uncover apertures for the passage of the oil which in this manner circulates and permits shifting of the piston head in the cylinder. The mast only bends if the wind acting on the sail exceeds the calibration value of the spring.
Abstract: During ceramic casting for the production of a molten bath it is often observed that the fire-resistant material becomes eroded and/or solid oxide phases are deposited. Both phenomena interfere with the smooth outflow of the molten bath. The present invention is intended, therefore, to provide an outflow which is stable in shape even when a molten bath is passed through, especially in multiple-sequence casting. To this end, the invention provides for ceramic casting with an envelope (10, 14) which is at least partly external and an internal insert (11, 14, 53) at a distance from the envelope (10, 14), the insert ( b 11, 14, 53) and envelope being connected together.

Abstract: A loudspeaker system includes at least two loudspeaker drivers, together with an electrical crossover network having filter circuits with at least two separate mutually exclusive frequency passbands. The filter circuits comprising the crossover network each possess brick-wall amplitude responses, i.e., passbands with very high band-edge amplitude vs. frequency response slops, on the order of 100 dB/octave in the better embodiments. The high passband band-edge slopes, which are realized by the inclusion of transmission zeros in the separate crossover filter transfer functions, takes together with further appropriate crossover filter transfer function synthesis causes the separate loudspeaker drivers comprising the loudspeaker system to function independently of one another in their contribution to total system acoustic output.

The device is manipulable with one hand to overcome the force of the spring and locate the plunger relative to the housing at the bag insertion position, the neck of the bag being inserted into the passage with the plunger then being released to allow the spring to relocate the plunger relative to the housing at the bag closure position to grasp the neck of the bag and close it airtight.
