  • Patent number: 6367357
Abstract: Apparatus for engaging and turning spanner type threaded members has an upper jaw member extending from a handle and terminating in a 90° arcuate radiused portion. A cylindrical lug extends radially at the end of the radiused portion for engaging the threaded member, and a clamping jaw member is pivotally connected to the handle so as to be diametrically opposed to the lug. The clamping jaw member is forced toward the upper jaw member to provide a clamping force on the threaded member and force the cylindrical lug into positive engagement with the threaded member.

  • Patent number: 6267130
Abstract: A lightweight awning frame having the flexibility of being easily lengthened or shortened by the addition or removal of extension pieces, which is easy and inexpensive to manufacture and mass produce, assemble and install, and package in a relatively compact cardboard box. The awning can be produced in various forms with common requirements of multiple bent pipes and non-welded, one piece engageable members wherein the ends of the pipes are inserted and securely engaged for the purpose of forming a semicircular half-dome shaped structure. Standard left and right end sections having a set of awning tubes can be formed into awning ribs by connection or the addition of extension members and support brackets connected at joints spacing the awning tubes apart in an array of awning ribs. One form of the side brackets has two receiving openings and a flange for securing individual tubes.

  • Patent number: 6265435
Abstract: A loop diuretic is applied topically to the corneal epithelium along with a therapeutic ophthalmic drug in an aqueous solution. The loop diuretic acts to temporarily block the discrete ion channels for outward Na+2Cl−K+ cotransport through the baso-lateral membrane of the corneal epithelium while allowing inward ion movement, to the anterior chamber unaffected and thus serves to enhance the rate of diffusion of the ophthalmic drug through the cornea to the interior of the eye through solvent drag.

  • Patent number: 5941667
Abstract: A rectangular cargo retaining beam and anchoring track system has anchoring tracks with horizontally and vertically oriented slots on opposed cargo receptacle walls and beams having telescopically adjustable length and ends with hooks for engaging opposed slots. In the engaged position, at least one of the hooks is latched in place by a pivotal latching member which fills the length of the slot to prevent release of the hook unless the latching member is pivoted to disengage the slot. Protected, positive access for manual actuation and release of the latching member is provided at the long face of the rectangular beam so that the beam can be installed and released with the long axis either horizontal or vertical at the discretion of the user, without risk of the release mechanism being blocked by shifting cargo and, with the anchoring tracks being installed either vertically or horizontally.
