Abstract: A container for solid water soluble fertilizer pellets supported in an upright position by a short vertical water supply pipe through an upper integral inlet pipe and a lower integral outlet pipe. The inlet pipe has a formation designed to direct a portion of a downward stream of water in the supply pipe into the container to augment the force of gravity and cause the diverted water to flow over pellets in the container. The outlet pipe is located at the lower end of the container to direct the water, now with dissolved fertilizer in it, back into the supply stream. A formation on the outlet pipe coacts with the supply stream to aid in circulating water through the container and over the pellets.
Abstract: A removable sealing plug for the bore of a high pressure oil or gas well incorporating at least one expandable sealing ring mounted on at least one plug part so as to be frictionally engageable with the surface of the bore and a rotatable plug part screw-threaded in the bore and having a coupling device to the sealing ring mounting designed to prevent rotation of the sealing ring and consequent damage to the bore surface or the sealing ring when the rotatable plug part is screwed into or out of the bore for sealing plug installation or removal purposes.
Abstract: A variable capacitor formed of two flexible interleaved films, each having a dielectric layer and a superposed electrically conductive layer. The films are coiled about an axis in sliding contact with each other and are movable axially relative to each other to vary the capacitance.
Abstract: Polyfluorinated diisocyanates having the formula OCN--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --(CF.sub.2).sub.n --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --NCO, in which n is a whole number from 2 to 16, inclusive, and their analogous monofunctional isocyanates having the formula F(CF.sub.2).sub.n --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --NCO, wherein n is a whole number from 1 to 20, inclusive. The polyfluorinated diisocyanates react with polyfluorinated diols having the formula HO--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --(CF.sub.2).sub.n --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --OH, wherein n is a whole number of from 1 to 20, inclusive, to form useful fluorinated polyurethanes.
