  • Patent number: 5194193
Abstract: This method for the trenchless, in situ repair of underground pipe includes the steps of isolating a section of pipe to be repaired, heating a sealing material (having predetermined physical and chemical properties) to a liquid state, pumping the liquid material, under pressure as required, into the isolated section of pipe; circulating the liquid through the isolated section of pipe; and forcing the liquid into and through cracks in the pipe and into the soil surrounding the pipe. This is a thermal process wherein the molten material which is forced into the cracks and soil, cools and solidifies. The remaining liquid circulates through the isolated section of pipe and stays in a liquid state, because of retained internal heat, until it is removed from the pipe for storage and reuse. With this process, a novel bottom plug is used which allows the sealant to be applied to all cracks, crevices and even openings found where the smaller pipe connects to the larger pipe.

  • Patent number: 5085176
Abstract: A hydrogen generating system produces hydrogen instantaneously upon contact of a catalyst and a reactant for simultaneous injection into the combustion chamber of an engine. The system includes an injector having an ignition chamber in communication with the combustion chamber. A catalyst is located in the ignition chamber. During the engine intake stroke, a reactant is fed into the ignition chamber where it reacts with the catalyst to produce hydrogen which is instantaneously drawn into the combustion chamber. A spark plug mounted on the injector provides a spark and the hydrogen in the ignition chamber and the combustion chamber explodes. The location of the catalyst in the injector provides for the generation of hydrogen and its immediate injection into the engine combustion chamber for use as a fuel. Automatic regeneration of the catalyst is provided by the fuel explosion, hydrogen and intense heat in the ignition chamber.

  • Patent number: 5036549
Abstract: A combination vest-suspenders garment includes full front vest portions which meet in the front and button down the center, which taper at their upper ends to form relatively narrow shoulder portions and which flare outwardly in the traditional manner towards the waistline to a relatively wide waist area having side edges. Suspenders straps are connected to the shoulder portions and extend downwardly and rearwardly to approximately the middle of the back where they cross, and then extend further downwardly to ends at waist level where they have suspender snaps thereon for connection to trousers or skirts. A back band is made of a fabric gathered over a single elastic band which extends continuously across the back waist from the side edge of one front portion to the side edge of the other front portion.

  • Patent number: 4925002
Abstract: A conveyorized sorting and distribution system for the handling of packages of documents or other items includes an infeed conveyor in tandem with an inclined conveyor and a plurality of vertically adjustable conveyor divider plates positioned above the infeed and inclined conveyors to divide the conveying surfaces into a plurality of individual sorting lanes. The infeed and inclined conveyor belts have a plurality of longitudinal grooves therein which may be created by and are aligned with the divider plates which extend into said grooves. A conveyor end divider transition section positioned at the end of the inclined conveyor enables the conveyed materials to flow by means by gravity to a distribution transition section that includes a chute for each lane of conveyed materials. The distribution transition section provides for the optimum conveying angle for gravity flow of the conveyed materials and also provides the necessary direction changes to distribute the materials to the desired discharge chute.
