  • Patent number: 4369793
Abstract: A medical instrumentation electrode apparatus for use in connecting wiring from an external medical instrument, such as an electrocardiograph machine, with an area of a patient's skin. The apparatus includes a vacuum bell which is interconnectible with a resilient bulb for partially evacuating same and causing a pliable ring disposed on the open end of the bell to collapse against a patient's skin. In this manner, a disposable contact held in place within the vacuum bell by a core portion of the bell is held in electrical contact with the skin area. The core portion is integrally formed with the vacuum bell and includes an upper protruding end for connection with the resilient bulb, and is further provided with an air communication passage extending between the bulb and the interior of the vacuum bell.

  • Patent number: 4360191
Abstract: An air leveling system for a vehicle wherein a check valve is connected between independent front and rear air lines for respectively feeding pneumatic pressure to front and rear shock absorbers. At least when the pneumatic pressure of the rear side shock absorbers is excessively higher than that of the front side shock absorbers, the pneumatic pressure at the rear side is discharged by the check valve to balance the pneumatic pressures at the front and rear sides to thereby hold the vehicle height at a predetermined level. The system provides for automatic correction of imbalance between the vehicle heights at the front and rear sides, particularly when the rear vehicle height is higher.

  • Patent number: 4354422
Abstract: A load relief device for a power steering system of a vehicle. The load relief device provides release of loads from a hydraulic pressure supply pump of the power steering system when the output member of the system is near the end of its stroke by short-circuiting between a hydraulic pressure source and an oil reservoir of the power steering system. The load relief device includes an assembly for detecting the end of a stroke being executed by the power steering system, and upon detection of the end of the stroke, the assembly operates to bring a four-way valve of an open center type to a neutral position thereof, regardless of the steering torque being applied to the power steering system.

  • Patent number: 4348675
Abstract: An FM-CW type radar system, for use in an automotive vehicle, which is specifically designed with a signal processor of relatively simple construction having an improved capability of identifying an object, particularly a plurality of objects, to be identified in suurrounding traffic or road areas. The system is particularly effective in overcoming possible error in detection of the object(s) due to reflected or scattering waves from the road surface or the like as experienced in the general radar navigation system for detecting the approaching or interfering object(s) by the provision of incessant radar monitoring along with the path of travel of the vehicle equipped with the radar system so as to eventually maintain a safe relative distance and/or velocity of that vehicle with respect to the object(s) in the surrounding traffic or road areas.

  • Patent number: 4345778
Abstract: A suspension for vehicles which includes a rod supporting on one end thereof a wheel and pivotally connected at the other end thereof to one end of each of a pair of links. The other ends of the links are pivotally connected to a chassis portion or the wheel of the vehicle. The pair of links are relatively inclined at a predetermined angle, so that the rod is operable as if the link-connected end thereof was disposed at an intersection of the longitudinal axes of the links. With such relatively non-complex structure, the vehicle can be prevented from diving at its front end or from rising at its rear end when the vehicle is suddenly braked.
