Abstract: A catering cart whose height is substantially greater than its width and its length, and particularly a catering cart for use in confined spaces, such as in the aisles of passenger aircraft and railway diners. The cart is supported on four wheels, at least two of which are castor wheels, and has an access opening on one side thereof. Two such carts can be mutually coupled with the sides opposite the access openings facing towards one another, with the aid of mutually identical coupling devices on each respective cart. Each of the coupling devices can be operated from that side of the cart which presents the access opening. The opposite side of the cart includes an overhang such that prior to coupling the carts together a gap is provided in the bottom region of the back-to-back cart combination in the vicinity of the coupling devices, this gap being brought to zero when the carts are coupled together, such that the carts will be supported in a sloping position solely by the outer pairs of wheels.
Abstract: A topical preparation containing about 5 to 15% by weight of ascorbic acid; about 5 to 15% by weight of water; a mixture of high and low molecular weight polyethylene glycol and silicone or vegetable oil. The preparation is placed into a package in unit dosage form under the atmosphere of an inert gas so as to be substantially free of oxygen.
Abstract: A furniture surface having a coating consisting of a bottom layer comprising a silicone oil adjacent to the furniture surface and a top layer comprising an oil having a specific gravity less than the silicone oil in the bottom layer and a water repelling film-forming fluorinated polymer. The coating may consist of a bottom layer comprising a silicone oil adjacent to the furniture surface, an intermediate layer comprising a water repelling film-forming fluorinated polymer, and a top layer comprising an oil having a specific gravity less than the silicone oil in the bottom layer. The coating may also consist of a bottom layer comprising a silicone oil adjacent to the furniture surface, an intermediate layer comprising an oil having a specific gravity less than the silicone oil in the bottom layer, and a top layer comprising a water repelling film-forming fluorinated polymer.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and an apparatus for decorating or coloring fingernails or toenails. According to the method, a subject's fingernail is scanned to obtain an image and the image is transferred to a computer. The computer then maps out the fingernail surface and scales a selected image or design to fit on the fingernail. This information is then used by the computer to activate an inkjet assembly to print out the stored image on the fingernail surface.

Abstract: A furniture cleaning and polishing composition that provides protection against water. The composition contains an admixture of A) about 0.01 to 4% by weight of a water repelling halofluoro polymer; B) up to 15% mineral oil; C) about 3 to 25% hydrocarbon solvent; D) about 0.1 to 5% silicone oil; about 0.01 to 5% surfactant, and the remainder water.
Abstract: A method for irradiating and modifying high molecular weight organic polymers with high energy radiation so that the radiation impinges only in a distinct pattern which is less than the width of the polymer so as to cause controlled chain scission and continuity in molecular weight distribution. The method improves the flow rate and millability of the polymers.
Abstract: A method for maximizing the loading capacity of a wagon or wagon train when loading with pourable material from a silo. The method utilizes a computer which determines the type of wagon to be loaded on the basis of values obtained with sensors.
Abstract: The invention relates to a traction device for treating leg fractures 81, wherein the device 1 includes a traction bar 2 or the like which carries at its rear end a branched support 3 intended for abutment with the crotch region of a patient or a person on which the device is used, and which carries at its front end at least one attachment point 4 for the attachment of tensioning devices 5 which are intended to act between the attachment point or attachment points and the feet or lower leg parts of said person. The branched support 3 includes support surfaces 35, 36 which are positioned for supportive engagement with the ischial tuberosities (tuber ossis ischii) 80 of said person. The branched support 3 includes a recess 34 or opening which provides room for the genital organs of said person. The branched support 3 includes a base part 30 which includes a part 31 by means of which the branched support can be affixed to the traction bar 2.

Abstract: The present invention teaches a computerized automatic photography booth for generating a synthesized sketch and a method therefor. The initial images to be converted may be real-time images taken on sight and/or stored images previously programmed into the memory of the computer. The computer maps out the essential characteristics of each image and converts the image into a sketch. Optionally, a background sketch is also programmed so as to form a composite.
Abstract: A device for detecting fluorescence generated in a sample medium in a cuvette tube irradiated with light for analysis purposes. The device includes a main element comprising a light source, an optical element mounted on the cuvette tube in optical contact therewith, and a photodetector. The light source is placed on the outside of the cuvette tube so as to send light into the tube in a direction essentially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the tube. The refractive index of the optical element is essentially the same as the refractive index of the wall of the cuvette tube. The photodetector functions to detect fluorescence light which falls on the detector after having passed in the cuvette tube via the optical element.
Abstract: There is provided an eyelid closure patch for use by anesthesiologists to ensure that the patient's eyes are closed during surgery. The patch consists of a flexible transparent material which contains a layer of a transparent pressure sensitive water soluble gelatinous or hydrocolloidal adhesive. The patch has an adhesive free tab and a cover sheet.
Abstract: A portable board game simulating a street for competitive play by from two to six players. The playing surface includes a series of twelve sequentially numbered landing spaces which must be progressively negotiated by having a playing piece successfully land totally within each numbered space in sequential order to complete the game. The board includes a series of obstacles of the type found on a city street or highway which are positioned to interfere with a game piece as it is moved from one numbered space to a succeeding numbered space. The obstacles include, for example, a raised manhole cover plate, a speed bump, a pair of barrier cones and at least two pot holes which form depressions or recesses in the surface of the board similar to potholes formed in a roadway. The board also includes a centrally positioned "dead box" which serves as a penalty zone, penalizing a player whose game piece lands in the dead box. The game piece is moved by striking with a finger or with a striking object such as a stick.
Abstract: In a device for the arrangement of at least one ultrasonic testing head on a tube having a welding seam for the ultrasonic testing of the welding seam of the tube each ultrasonic testing head is built in a support. The support is provided with front and rear support points and led in constant radial distance to the tube on a test trace. The ultrasonic testing head is arranged in the area of the front support points, which are closest to the welding seam to be examined seen in the peripheral direction of the tube. A mechanical scanning device is provided, it is connected to the ultrasonic testing head and is arranged at the support in the area between the front and rear support points. The ultrasonic testing head has a single ultrasonic vibrator.
