Abstract: A mounting plate for a furniture hinge includes a hinge plate pivotably connected to a hinge component, such as a hinge cup, on a pivot axis. At least one front support members depends from the front edge of the hinge plate and is spaced a predetermined radial distance from the pivot axis. The front support member depends a distance from the hinge plate that is less than, and preferably not greater than three-fourths, the predetermined radial distance between the front support member and the pivot axis. The mounting plate also includes at least one opposing rear support member depending from the rear edge of the hinge plate a distance that is at least as great as, and preferably, at least one and three-fourths times, the distance by which the front support member depends from the hinge plate.

  • Patent number: 6799041
Abstract: A method for setting up a connection between a mobile radio network and a destination call number in a private communication network via a mobile radio network gateway. According to the inventive method, a call request is transferred from a mobile terminal to the mobile radio network gateway. The mobile radio network gateway begins by setting up a connection to the desired destination call number of the private network and, once this has been successfully achieved, subsequently sets up a connection to the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 6757939
Abstract: The invention concerns a cabinet hinge with an adjusting device that is directly or indirectly on the cabinet side, single or multi-part mounting plate stored hinge arm, that is connected jointed with a door-side stop part, so that the adjusting device has a side adjusting screw by means of which the hinge arm's position perpendicular to the mounting plate can be changed to the door's side adjustment. The side adjusting device has a side adjusting screw with at least one eccentric- or cam disks so that by turning the side adjusting screw, a side adjustment and, at the same time, a parallel shifting of the hinge arm relative to the mounting plate occurs, resulting in a correction of the door's depth adjustment for an amount.

  • Patent number: 6743511
Abstract: This invention relates to methods for manufacturing large PTFE parts by compression molding followed by sintering. The method comprises layering modified and unmodified PTFE in a mold, and compressing the layers to form a preform part. Once the preform parts are formed, they are assembled such that the areas of preform parts which are to be bonded together are the modified PTFE sections. The parts are then sintered and the modified PTFE sections bond together creating a strong, durable, bond.

  • Patent number: 6722657
Abstract: Disclosed is a labyrinth seal assembly for sealing an annular gap defined between a bore of a housing and an outer surface of a cylindrical shaft, wherein the housing and shaft are relatively movable. The seal assembly includes radially inner and radially outer shield rings. The radially inner shield ring has an inner surface which is adapted and configured for support by the shaft. The radially outer shield ring is partially disposed within the sealing channel of the inner shield ring. The outer shield ring includes a casing member, foam seal elements, and a shield element retainer. The foam seal elements depend radially inward into the sealing channel so as to form a circuitous sealing labyrinth therein. The seal elements are formed preferably from polyurethane. A highly viscous fluid is disposed within the circuitous sealing labyrinth.

  • Patent number: 6715180
Abstract: The invention concerns a cabinet hinge with a depth adjusting device for hinge arm held directly or indirectly on a cabinet-side, single- or multi-part mounting plate. A revolvable depth adjusting screw held in the mounting plate is provided in order to adjust the depth. A driver plate is connected with the hinge arm; whereby, the depth adjusting screw has adjusting elements that work together with corresponding adjusting surfaces on the driver plate in such a way that by turning the depth adjusting screw, the driver plate and the hinge arm are moved in relation to the mounting plate. The invention offers the advantage that with only turn, the depth adjusting screw can finely and delicately adjust the depth position of the hinge arm over its entire adjustment range.

  • Patent number: 6698062
Abstract: The invention concerns a hinge, in particular a cabinet hinge with a baseplate that fastens to the cabinet body and a baseplate with a supporting adjusting plate than can be connected to the cabinet hinge, so that a secure fastening of the catch connection is provided. In order to attain a stabile connection that, at the same time, provides an easy assembly, the baseplate is formed in two parts—one lower part that fastens to the cabinet body and an upper part that tenses into the lower part. A height adjusting screw is provided to secure and vertically adjust the upper part on the lower part and has at least one eccentric or cam disks with an angle-dependent modification of the radius and whose eccentric or cam disk work together with at least one corresponding gliding cam of the upper part.

  • Patent number: 6694567
Abstract: This invention relates to hinges for mounting a door on a furniture article frame. The hinges include at least a hinge cup member adapted to be affixed to the furniture door, a top hinge arm segment pivotably connected to the hinge cup member and comprising a top elongated aperture and two tabs, and an L-shaped hinge arm segment comprising at least a circular aperture, a center hole and two grooves. A base hinge arm segment comprising an elongated center hole, a circular aperture and an upper flange may also be used with the top hinge arm segment and the L-shaped hinge arm segment to allow adjustments to be made in a third direction. In some embodiments, turning a cam or eccentric screw allows adjustments to be made horizontally from side-to-side so that the desired spacing of the door from opposite sides of the door opening can be set.

  • Patent number: 6688768
Abstract: A dry bearing (102, FIG. 2(f)) for a hinge pin or the like comprises a bush 402 mounted in a radially supportive housing (16), the bush being formed by a circumferentially discontinuous tubular form made by rolling a strip of steel-backed, bearing material having a filled polymer infiltrated sintered bronze (ISB) lining about a mandrel (FIG. 32, 2(c)). The tubular form is, after mounting and to provide a more uniform inside diameter, burnished by pushing therethrough a burnishing tool (50), having a cylindrical portion (51), of larger diameter than the mounted form. The bearing (and method of manufacture) differ from the art in that a minor part of the lining surface is, prior to passage of the burnishing tool and conveniently when still in strip form, compressed in part as depressions (troughs 442) arrayed over the surface.
