Abstract: A rotary blade machine, for example, a blades pump mainly comprising a rotor having outwardly opening, axial slots, a blade slidably arranged in each slot and a stator surrounding the rotor with the blades and having inlet and outlet ports, wherein in an axial sense the blades project at both ends beyond the rotor into a chamber formed by a re-entrant side wall part of the stator, said chamber accommodating a shut-off body associated with each blade, in order to prevent leakage along the blades, particularly along their side edges.
Abstract: A folding wall being composed of modules and substantially comprising a double row of panels foldable in zigzag fashion by means of hinges, wherein at least two panels being in opposite positions in the rows are pivotally interconnected by a coupling piece having two relatively spaced supporting members, while two blades of resilient material slidable between two supporting members are each fastened to an inner side of a panel, said resilient blades will cause an inwardly directed force upon the panels when the wall is drawn out, so moving these panels into a parallel position, and wherein a lever is connected at a distance from the supporting members by means of a hinge with the coupling piece, so when folding the wall, said lever is adapted to exert a pressure on the free ends of the resilient blades, causing an outwardly directed force upon the associated panels so that the zigzag folding of the wall is facilitated.

A preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention comprises a temperature measuring device (15) to be connected to at least one temperature sensor (6,7), and a calculating device (16) connected to the temperature measuring device (15), assessing the momentaneous maturity and provided with a data input member (17) and a display member showing the assessed momentaneous maturity.
Abstract: A driven transverse spreader forcibly spreads a windrow to be uniformly distributed in front of a crop pick-up device. Flexible aprons at the sides of the device prevent transverse spreading beyond the grasp of the pick-up device.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a stabilizing foot for an exhibit frame of the type formed of a plurality of pivotally interconnected rods and hubs with many of the hubs having openings therein, the frame being capable of movement between a collapsed position at which the rods are generally in side-by-side relationship in a bundle and in errected position in which the exhibit frame is a relatively narrow and tall structure, the foot being defined by an elongated base disposed in underlying transverse relationship to the structure and adjacent openings in a pair of the hubs, a pair of ears disposed in upstanding spaced relationship relative to the base, each of the ears having an opening, and a pin passing through the openings of the ears and the openings of the hubs for connecting the ears and thereby connecting the base to the exhibit frame through the hubs thereof.
Abstract: The high density packaging of generally conical articles is effected by mechanism which feeds two rows of the suspended articles onto a conveyor so that the articles lie on their sides in a single horizontal row arrangement aligned in spaced relation along the path of travel imparted by the conveyor. This arrangement is such that the articles lie in head-to-toe relation. At a downstream region, the progress of the articles is arrested so that they sequentially crowd into touching relation define a contiguous sequence. Transfer mechanism transfer a group of articles from the sequence as a layer and deposits the layer in a receptacle. The transfer mechanism then transfers a second group in the receptacle as a layer nested with the first layer. To achieve high density, the second group of articles has an orientation relative to the sequence which is different from that of the first group.
Abstract: A hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder supports a pair of non-circular discs and a circular pulley about which a hoisting cable and a carrying cable are trained. The discs are configured such that a constant force is exerted on a load supported by the hoisting cable independent of the variation in pressure in the cylinder due to displacement of the piston supporting the discs. The carrying cable comprises two runs; one having one end fixed to one of the discs and the other end fixed to the supporting base, and the other having one end fixed to the other disc and the other end fixed to a pulley block supporting the load. The hoisting cable extends from a winch, over the circular pulley, to the pulley block. The arrangement compensates for relative motion between the load and the supporting base.
Abstract: A double pivot or toggle action hinge action and a latching or keeping function are combined in a single entity for the purpose of hinging a door as well as serving as the mechanism to lock the door in a closed position. The combined assembly includes a shaft defining a first pivot axis and interdigitated hinge members on the shaft and on the associated door which are pivotally joined about a second axis parallel to the first axis and a handle is connected to the shaft to control the toggling action of the hinge and, finally, the door is provided with a latch or keeper which is adapted to capture and retain the handle whereby positively to hold the assembly in door-closed position.
Abstract: A decorative article, and method, wherein a shaped mass of transparent material is embodied within a block of the same material so as to provide a shaped interface. Selected regions or areas of the interface are conditioned with light reflective material so as to render visible selected portions of the otherwise invisible interface, thereby achieving a three dimensional display having a shape controlled by the shaping of the interface but whose quality or artistic content is controlled by the conditioning of the interface.
Abstract: A counterbalancing hydraulic system for exerting a torque on a member such as a spud pile by means of at least two substantially identical hydraulic cylinders, piston rods of which engage the pile at a distance from one another, the pistons being subjected to pressure in opposite senses, while the portion of each cylinder remote from the piston rod communicates through a main displacer pump motor each with the portion of the other cylinder located on the side of the piston rod and the portion of each cylinder remote from the piston rod communicates through an auxiliary displacer pump motor with a medium reservoir.
Abstract: A butterfly valve includes an annular valve seat and a disc-like valve member mounted both for rotation about an axis parallel to the valve seat and for axial displacement relative to the seat.
