  • Patent number: 4718355
Abstract: A patient support platform is provided with compound leg structure which allows the platform to move to a squatted position giving easy access for a patient or to disposition of a patient thereon and, at the same time, the platform is adjustable to elevated positions so that a standing attendant may administer to the patient. Supporting feet are disposed in a fixed, predetermined pattern and provide pivot points to which the compound leg structures are pivoted. The compound leg structures effect raising and lowering of the platform without changing or disturbing the positions of the feet.

  • Patent number: 4718606
Abstract: A method and device for spraying agricultural crops where a liquid, for example a fungi-insecticide, growth regulating substance or fertilizer, is atomized in a conical or flat spray plane (24), wherein the spray mantle (24) is partially interrupted so obtaining an asymmetrical spray picture whereby an accurate and even concentration can be achieved. An atomizing body (9) is rotatabe around a stationary part (1) formed as a hollow cylinder, whereby a groove (14) connecting with the cylinder space (3) is formed in the surface of the cylinder (1) over a circumferential portion, onto which ducts (12, 13) are arranged in the rotation atomizing body (9) in each case connect resulting in that a very even cone mantle with a vertical angle of 150.degree. can be achieved so that the atomized liquid strikes the field produce on the underside of the leaves.

  • Patent number: 4713065
Abstract: A urine incontinence device particularly for women is provided having an elongated urine receiving element made from elastic material. The receiving element is open on one side for receiving urine, and attached via a tube to a collection receptacle. The open side of the receiving element contains an inset body of moisture absorbing material. The inset body is provided with a peripheral edge portion which overlies the circumferential edge of the receiving element to separate the receiving element from a patient. The inset body has a plurality of protuberances which extend into receiving element to aid in pumping liquid to the collection receptacle upon movement of the legs of an associated patient to squeeze fluid from the inset body.

  • Patent number: 4708656
Abstract: A simulator of previously chosen mechanical properties of the steering system of a device such as an aircraft employs a controllable limiter for simulating the mechanical Coulomb friction of the control member and is arranged in a negative feedback loop and having two control signal inputs which determine the maximum and minimum outputs of the limiter in association with a further input signal corresponding to the friction concerning the control member. The limiter interrupts output until the level of the Coulomb friction to be simulated is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 4707847
Abstract: A device for recording images of a patient's jaw includes a holder carrying a radiation window disposed externally of the patient's mouth and mounting a carrier disposed within a patient's mouth. A biting element is connected to the carrier and projects toward the window and the carrier provides a surface facing the window and against which a radiation sensitive plate is located. Location and positioning of the plate against the surface is effected by a cap which fits over the carrier. The cap has rounded corners and is formed of flexible material to protect the patient's mouth from injury. The carrier is formed of a first part which attaches to the holder and a second part which is adjustable thereon parallel to the window and the biting element is adjustable laterally on the first part to allow further adjustment of the plate within the patient's mouth.

  • Patent number: 4705164
Abstract: A match package includes a synthetic resin core in combination with cover members sandwiching the core to define a space of uniform height. The core includes partition walls dividing the space into oblong compartments. The walls are joined at one end to block those ends of the compartments and at the other end are joined by floors which reduce the height of the space in each compartment. The head of a match is positioned at the blocked end of the compartment and its free end projects from the other, open end. Striking material on the cover portions which oppose the floors frictionally engage a match head to ignite same in response to axial withdrawal of a match from its compartment.

  • Patent number: 4697347
Abstract: A pair of photographs of the same object taken from different positions and fixed to a single carrying plate the position of which can be adjusted in a first plane. Three measuring devices are associated with the carrying plate for determining the coordinates of the plate to indicate the distance and angle of the plate relative to a fixed reference system. Binocular optical means includes two measuring marks respectively having lines of sight intersecting said two photographs. The lines of sight are parallel to one another and lie in a plane disposed perpendicular to the first plane. One of the marks can be moved relative to the other so that the lines of sight may intersect identical points on the two photographs. A fourth measuring device is provided for measuring the distance between said lines of sight. The outputs from the four measuring devices are fed into a computer for deriving three dimensional quantitative information about the object.
