Abstract: A trim piece for installing at a drywall external right angle corner which is provided with a bullnose corner bead includes an intermediate portion which wraps over the convexly curved portion of the bullnose corner bead and has two edges extending parallel to the edges of the flanges of the corner bead. Two leaves are attached to the intermediate portion of the trim piece at the two edges respectively. The intermediate portion of the trim piece has an interior surface at a first end matching closely the exterior surface of the corner bead and an exterior surface which is convexly curved at the first end and is right-angled at the opposite second end and provides a transition from the convex curve to the right angle between the first and second ends.
Abstract: Two playing pieces each include a body portion, a shield having at least two hinged segments attached to the body portion, a first control mechanism operable to select one of the hinged segments as a blocked segment, a projecting element attached to the body portion and having a raised position and at least two lowered positions, and a second control mechanism operable to select one of the lowered positions as an active position. The two playing pieces can be placed on a track structure at opposite respective ends for movement towards each other along respective paths of movement. In one possible outcome, the projecting element of one of the playing pieces strikes the blocked segment of the shield of the other playing piece and in another outcome the projecting element strikes an unblocked segment of the shield of the other playing piece.

An adaptor plate is attached to a Z axis abutment structure and has a surface at a predetermined Z axis position relative to the receptacle surface of the load board, the surface of the adaptor plate being presented toward the handler location. At least three spacers are attached to the adaptor plate and project from the surface of the adaptor plate.

Abstract: A semiconductor device, such as a back side illuminated CCD, is fabricated by forming an insulating layer over the front side of a body of semiconductor material, depositing a layer of high resistivity material over the front side of the insulating layer, patterning a portion of the layer of high resistivity material to form a long and narrow trace, and attaching a support member to the front side of the insulating layer. In the case of a back side illuminated CCD, the patterning of the layer of high resistivity material advantageously forms a long and narrow trace substantially confined to a peripheral area of the front side of the insulating layer and the semiconductor material is removed from the corresponding peripheral area of the back side of the insulating layer, leaving a plateau of semiconductor material that does not extend over the area that contains the long and narrow trace.
Abstract: Apparatus for real time measurement of optical beam parameters includes an assembly of known dimensions, carrying multiple apertures, occupying parallel planes. The assembly can be moved so that the apertures sequentially intersect an optical beam which is not propagated in the plane of the apertures. At least one pair of the apertures are non-circular and identical with accurately established positions and which are not disposed in the same angular alignment when they intercept the beam but are disposed in the same plane in order to allow determination of the two-dimensional position of the centroid of the beam in that plane.
Abstract: A mechanical interface between the test head of a semiconductor integrated circuit tester and a wafer prober includes docking bars which are releasably attached to a docking plate of the wafer prober and an interface member between the test head and the docking plate. The interface member and the docking bars have complementary alignment features which can be brought into engagement and, when so engaged, ensure that the docking bars are in predetermined relative position.
Abstract: A thermometer includes a probe portion having a central axis, an adjustment member secured to the probe portion in a manner preventing relative rotation thereof, and a dial portion which is rotatable relative to the probe portion about the central axis thereof for calibrating the thermometer. The adjustment member is a nut having lobes whereby torque can be applied to the adjustment member by hand for effecting relative turning movement of the probe portion and the dial portion without use of a turning tool.

Abstract: A lock casing comprises a case-like lock housing and a follower unit which is releasably fastened to the lock housing at an adjustable distance from the front plate of the lock casing. The follower unit includes a follower element which is turnable in the follower unit about an operating axis and is accessible from at least one side of the door for turning by means of a key operated locking mechanism. Force transmitting elements provide a force transmitting connection between the follower element and the bolt of the lock casing.

Abstract: An electrical parameter of a rod-form conductive element is measured using a measurement fixture which includes an insulating support on which a first conductive element is mounted. A transmission line connector mounted on the insulating support and has a signal conductor connected to a first conductive element mounted on the support member. A holder for removably receiving the rod-form element includes a conductive member which is in electrically conductive contact with the rod-form element when the latter is positioned in the holder. The holder is mounted relative to the support member by a mounting structure such that when the rod-form element is positioned in the holder, an end of the rod-form element can be brought into electrically conductive contact with the first conductive element.
Abstract: A raster scan digital signal acquisition and waveform display instrument displays a dot representing a signal event with a color parameter in accordance with the value of a corresponding data word stored in a raster scan memory. A user interface control element supplies a single color parameter control value from which multiple independent control values for influencing the values of the data words stored in the raster scan memory in response to the single color parameter control value are generated.
Abstract: A sewer system includes a disposal system under atmospheric pressure, a sanitary unit provided with a water trap, and a branch sewer pipe connecting the sanitary unit to the disposal system. A vacuum generator is connected to the branch sewer pipe for generating underpressure in the branch sewer pipe. The vacuum generator is connected to the branch sewer pipe in a manner that allows waste to pass through the branch sewer pipe to the disposal system without obstruction by a temporary closure element.

Abstract: A fuel feeding system for a multi-cylinder engine, especially a large diesel engine, includes at least two high pressure pumps for feeding fuel from a fuel tank into respective pressure accumulator units, each of which defines a pressure chamber which is connected to at least two injectors. A passage interconnects the pressure chambers of the pressure accumulator units without obstruction. An auxiliary valve is attached to one of the pressure accumulator units for selectively connecting the pressure chamber of that pressure accumulator unit to the fuel tank.
Abstract: An integrated circuit device structure comprises a semiconductor plateau containing an active region subjacent its front side, an electrode structure at the front side of the plateau, and an insulating layer surrounding the semiconductor plateau. A front side bus at the front side of the insulating layer is connected to the electrode structure. The front side bus extends over an elongate aperture in the insulating layer and is connected through the aperture to a back side bus over substantially the entire length of the front side bus.
Abstract: An integrated pump and tappet unit for an internal combustion engine, includes a pump and tappet unit body composed of a one-piece casting, a tappet fitted in the body to be driven by the engine, a tappet arm connected to the tappet, and a piston operationally connected to the tappet through the tappet arm and arranged to pump fuel from a fuel chamber in the pump and tappet body under high pressure to be fed to one or more cylinders of the engine. A flange is fixed to the pump and tappet body and the tappet arm extends through the flange, so that the piston and the tappet are at opposite respective sides of the flange, and the flange is in sealing relationship with the tappet arm so that passage of fuel from the piston side of the flange to the tappet side of the flange is inhibited.
