Patent number: 6047956Abstract: A carburetor atomizer including a cylindrical body with a central bore is disclosed. The body is arranged upstream of the venturi and throttle plate. The bore is oriented parallel to the flow axis of the carburetor. The body has one or more annular conduits circumferentially arranged around the bore, each conduit communicating with the bore through a respective plurality of circumferentially spaced ducts, which can be radially or tangentially oriented relatively to the bore. Respective feeder tubes supply at least one annular conduit with fuel which is drawn into the bore through the ducts where the fuel is broken-up into droplets and mixed with air flowing through the carburetor and bore. Metered air is injected into the bore through a second annular conduit and plurality of ducts which promotes further atomization of the fuel and mixing of the fuel-air mixture in the bore.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1997Date of Patent: April 11, 2000Inventor: Edward A. Patent number: 5435768Abstract: Described is a remotely controlled miniature model trash truck with operating features that simulate those of a full size trash truck. The truck features moveable and controllable forks, fork frames, top access door, rear door, and an ejector blade. The mechanisms are remotely controllable by a direct current electric motor. The preferred motors are electric servo motors. The doors are actuable by the motors rotating eccentrics which are linked by rigid rods to the operating doors. An ejector blade is longitudinally moveable within the truck body by threadable engagement with a electric motor driven lead screw longitudinally mounted between the front end and rear opening of the truck box. The front fork frame is pivotally attached to the truck chassis and swingable between a loading position and dumping position by controllable excitation of a remotely controlled motor. Front forks are pivotally attached to the fork frame and positionable by actuation of a remotely controlled motor.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1994Date of Patent: July 25, 1995Assignee: Daniel J. Patent number: 5417346Abstract: The present invention provides improved method and apparatus for the transfer and delivery of very high purity chemicals for use in semiconductor production and similar processes. By employing a series of vessels arranged in parallel, a vacuum system to draw chemical from one or more bulk sources into the vessels, and a pressure system to deliver chemical under pressure from the vessels, chemicals can be easily delivered from any bulk source to one or more end-users. The use of a vacuum system to draw chemicals through sealed conduits eliminates the need for pumps which are a source of both maintenance problems and contamination in the system. Multiple vessels provide for a variety of flow options, which include continuous and uniform chemical delivery to the end-users, recirculation and regular filtration during periods of low use, and built-in redundancy to avoid system shut down if there is a component failure. Computer controlled process systems provides system flexibility and full automation.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1994Date of Patent: May 23, 1995Assignee: Applied Chemical SolutionsInventors: Edward T. Patent number: 5396366Abstract: An endoscope is disclosed which is designed to transmit light to the area under observation and allows the light to make contact with the image plane, without the need of a fiber optic bundle. The ocular section of the endoscope, in addition to housing the lenses required to magnify the image for viewing, contains a relay lens whose diameter is less than the diameter of the rod lenses in the relay section. Light is then reflected through a beam director surrounding the ocular relay lens and transmitted to the objective through the excess diameter of the larger diameter relay lenses. Additionally, the ocular section is separable from the relay and objective sections, which are considered disposable, so that it can be reused.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1993Date of Patent: March 7, 1995Assignee: Sigma Dynamics CorporationInventors: Frank J. Patent number: 5385121Abstract: A desuperheater is disclosed which employs an acceleration orifice within a steam conduit to increase the velocity of steam flowing therethrough, creating a region of low pressure steam. A nozzle having an enclosed elliptical discharge orifice sprays small droplets of cooling water in a semi-elliptical hollow cone pattern directly into the region of low pressure steam flow. Evaporization of the cooling water into the steam is optimized allowing effective control of the steam temperature. Nozzle fouling and plugging is reduced because the droplet size created by the nozzle is small in comparison to the nozzle orifice.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1993Date of Patent: January 31, 1995Assignee: Keystone International Holdings Corp.Inventor: Roy L. Patent number: 5315713Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved apparatus for restraining a necktie to a shirt. The present invention employs attachment means on the back of a conventional necktie to secure the tie's normally concealed tail in two positions, and a horizontal member, having buttonholes therein, slidably mounted on the tail between the attachment means. The horizontal member may then be secured to a shirt button to hold the tie in place during normal wear. The apparatus allows the necktie to automatically adjust to compensate for changes in the amount of slack on the necktie. Various alternative attachment means are disclosed, including means for ease in providing restraint apparatus for "clip-on" and other pre-tied neckwear.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1992Date of Patent: May 31, 1994Inventor: Vincent J.
