  • Patent number: 7302471
Abstract: The amount of unsolicited bulk e-mail messages received by an e-mail user is reduced by providing the user with a temporary e-mail address and a permanent e-mail address. The temporary addresses are generated by a server on an ongoing basis. The current temporary address is linked to the permanent e-mail address such that e-mail messages sent to the current temporary address are forwarded to the permanent address and e-mail messages sent to a former temporary address are not forwarded to the permanent address and not received by the user. The method and system also provide a degree of anonymity to the e-mail user.

  • Patent number: 6826877
Abstract: The invention provides a removable and reusable door frame guard for a door frame comprising a door jamb, door stop and trim molding attached to a plaster wall. The guard comprises an elongated member having a substantially planar web with depending parallel side panels normal to the planar web. One or both of the side panels terminate with two right angled flanges adaptable for a gripping action with the trim molding and plaster wall. For the hinge side, one side panel has a width about equal to the width of the door stop and about terminates at the jamb, and this narrow panel is adaptable to abut the side of the door stop, as well as the jamb along the marginal edge, thereby providing a gripping action at this side of the guard. Thus, when the guard component is installed over the door frame, the elongated member is adaptable to at least partially engage the door jamb and abut the door stop, and at least one side of the guard is adaptable to grip the trim molding.

  • Patent number: 6760959
Abstract: A die and a method for forming a die to produce optically varying effects in a light reflective surface. A design generally formed as a plurality of parallel grooves of varying widths and depths are engraved in a soft metal foil adhered to a substrate. A hard metal coating is formed on the engraved soft metal foil in a metal plating bath. The hard metal coating, removed from the soft metal foil provides a die formed as a mirror image of the grooves engraved in the soft metal foil. The die is used to deform a reflective surface such that the surface produces optically varying effects. A die formed in the same manner with further processing is used to both deform a reflective surface and hot stamp it to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 6739581
Abstract: A wire feeding guide for use in feeding wire through an electrical box and a conduit secured over a hole in the electrical box. The wire feeding guide includes a trough-like member, a support arrangement for supporting the trough-like member on an electrical box, and a wire retention element for retaining a wire or wires on the trough-like member. The trough-like member directs the wire through the open side of the electrical box to the desired hole in the electrical box. The wire retention element retains the wire or wires on the trough-like member as they are being pulled over the trough-like member. The support arrangement includes portions which engage the electrical box to support the trough-like member in the desired position.

  • Patent number: 6715390
Abstract: For a woodworking machine having a horizontally disposed working table with a top planar surface and a saw blade transverse to the table, there is provided an elongated work-retainer fence having a planar facing disposed substantially perpendicular to the planar surface of the table. The work-retainer fence is spaced from the saw blade and parallel to the line of the saw blade; and the fence includes at least one horizontally disposed support that is substantially normal to the planar facing of the fence and is distended outwardly from at least one of the marginal edges of the table. The support has a substantially top planar surface that is substantially co-planar with the planar surface of the working table.

  • Patent number: 6397420
Abstract: A manual emergency tool assembly including a pair of tools, each of which has an operating head and a handle. The handles are formed to be telescopically engaged with each other. A locking arrangement is provided to secure the handles to each other in a fully telescoped relationship, and in intermediated telescoped relationships. A further locking arrangement provides for limited axial movement of the handles with respect to each other. The locking arrangement also provides for separating the tools for independent use of each tool or for use of the tools together in a configuration other than with the handle in a telescopic relationship.

  • Patent number: 6394405
Abstract: A strut or strut system continuously adjustable in length for maintaining two bodies in a spaced relationship with respect to each other. Both the length of the strut and the locking of the strut at a desired length may be remotely controlled by pneumatic pressure. The strut system includes a cylindrical outer member having a cylindrical bore for receiving a cylindrical inner member. The cylindrical inner member is provided with a helical groove for engagement with ball bearings which are retained in a helical pattern in a collar attached to the end of the cylindrical outer member which receives the cylindrical inner member. The collar is adjustable between a first position in which the ball bearings are engaged in the helical groove in the cylindrical inner member and a second position in which they are disengaged from the helical groove in the cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 4533863
Abstract: A voltage regulator is described adapted for use controlling the output of an AC generator. A voltage control field-winding excitation control circuit supplies direct current to the generator field in response to a driver. The driver, in turn, is operated in response to a switching regulator. A frequency sensing means generates a voltage proportional to the frequency of the generator. This frequency sensitive voltage is combined with a reference voltage to drive an asynchronous switching regulator. The switching regulator produces a train of output voltage control signals to operate the driver. Preferably power MOSFETs are used to control the flow of current to the generator field. Loss of voltage and high current protection features are included.

  • Patent number: 4506405
Abstract: A floor treating machine adapted to operate as a floor scrubber and a floor polisher or buffer includes a main housing or support frame structure from which extends a brush housing assembly. The main housing contains a combined solution and recovery tank, a motive device to power the floor treating machine, a propulsion system to propel the floor treating machine along the floor, a pneumatic power system, a squeegee subassembly and electrical and pneumatic control systems therefor. The brush housing assembly is operatively connected to the main housing by a brush lifting mechanism such that two brushes selectively rotating in opposite directions in the brush housing assembly can be lifted away from the floor or moved toward the floor so that the brushes exert the correct amount of pressure against the floor depending on the job being done.
