Abstract: A simultaneous discharge apparatus comprises a plurality of plasma treatment apparatuses and a single high-frequency power supply, in which the plurality of plasma treatment apparatuses are discharged simultaneously using the single high-frequency power supply, the plurality of plasma treatment apparatuses being a plasma treatment apparatus in which a coil electrode is used as an electrode for generating plasma and inductive coupled plasma is mainly generated, wherein a power supply line from the high-frequency power supply is branched into each plasma treatment apparatus through a branch section, and fixed capacitors are provided on the downstream side of the branch section and between the branch section and each plasma treatment apparatus, respectively. It is preferable to adjust the impedance of the fixed capacitor to be 2.3-2.7 times that of the coil electrode which is located on the same downstream side.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine is provided with a decompressing mechanism including: a pin supported so as to be turnable on a camshaft; a flyweight supported for turning relative to the camshaft by the pin on the camshaft; and a decompression cam capable of operating together with the flyweight to apply valve opening force to an engine valve. The pin is inserted in holes formed in the flyweight so as to be turnable. A spring washer restrains the pin and the flyweight from movement relative to each other, so that generation of rattling noise due to collision between the pin and the flyweight can be prevented or controlled.

Abstract: A disposable diaper includes a main diaper body with a flexible plastic housing. The diaper housing has a front wall and a parallel back wall sealably joined to the front wall. The front and back walls cooperate to define a housing chamber therebetween. The back wall has an aperture formed therein. The main diaper body also includes at least one layer of absorbent material disposed within the housing chamber. The diaper also includes a flexible sleeve for surrounding a user's phallus. The flexible sleeve attached to the back wall of the housing around the aperture, and is in fluid communication with the housing chamber via the aperture. The diaper may have an adhesive material attached to a lower portion of the front wall, to allow it to be removably fastened to an undergarment.
Abstract: A door checker for an automobile includes a case secured to a door, and a check plate mounted to extend through the case and supported on a body. A pair of detent members and resilient members for urging the detent members against opposite sides of the check plate are accommodated in the case. The check plate is provided with notches in which the detent members are brought into engagement to retain the door at a predetermined medium opening degree, and with a full-opening stopper adapted to receive an outer side of the case to define an opening limit for the door. In the door checker, a section of each of the opposite sides of said check plate, where each of the detent members is moved from the medium opening degree to the opening limit for the door, is formed as a continuous surface having no unevenness.
Abstract: A vehicle collision decision apparatus determines whether or not an occupant-protecting apparatus should be started in a collision by an occupant moving characteristics determining device. Also, whether or not the collision continues is determined in an acceleration change determining section. A determining threshold for a frequency component which indicates damage to the vehicle which is calculated in a frequency component calculating device is selected. The occupant-protecting apparatus is activated appropriately by monitoring the damage to the vehicle in the frequency component determining device by using the frequency component. By doing this, a vehicle collision decision apparatus which can determine the condition in the vehicle collision appropriately is provided.
Abstract: In manufacturing a fuel inlet, bulge forming and bend processing are conducted to a stainless pipe which will serve as an inlet pipe. Next, one end of the stainless pipe is eccentrically expanded, and the hardened portion is removed. After the pipe expanding step is finished, boring processing is conducted so that a breather pipe can be inserted into the inlet pipe, a guide is spot-welded to the inside of the eccentrically expanded portion, and a screw structure is formed. The inlet pipe and the breather pipe are degreased and cleaned as a pretreatment for brazing, and brazing is conducted by using BAg-4 (Low-temperature brazing material) at a temperature of 750-850° C. Removing of the flux and cleaning are conducted as a post-treatment for brazing, and finally coating is conducted.
Abstract: A garnish cooperates with weather strip material to seal an opening in a vehicle body portion. The garnish has a plurality of slots formed in selected portions thereof. In one illustrative embodiment, the garnish is attachable to a door sash frame. The door sash frame is provided with a outer weather strip seal and a plurality of seal clips which are inserted through selected slots in the garnish, thereby concurrently affixing both the garnish and outer weather strip seal to the door sash frame, to contribute to a secure, efficient, and quiet seal for the vehicle opening.

Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a light scattering type particle detector, using a semiconductor laser as a light source, for detecting particles contained in sample fluid which defines a flow path, wherein laser light generated from the semiconductor laser is irradiated to irradiate a region of the flow path with a concave mirror and thereby a particle detecting region is defined.
According to the present invention, there is also provided a laser oscillator wherein the optical axis of a semiconductor laser for generating pumping laser light has a predetermined angle with respect to the optical axis of a laser medium for irradiating laser light by pumping. Using such a laser oscillator, laser light irradiated from the laser oscillator is condensed to irradiate a region of a flow path defined by sample fluid, and thereby a particle detecting region is defined. Particles contained in the particle detecting region are detected by receiving scattered light with a light receiving portion.
Abstract: A golf swing training apparatus, for creating proper head-to-body alignment, assists a user thereof in acquiring muscle memory of a correct golf swing, while remaining substantially out of the user's field of vision. The training apparatus provides a support section and an engagement arm movably connected to the support section. The engagement arm terminates at an adjustably positionable pad, provided for comfortable contact with a dorsal surface of the user's neck during the process of swinging a golf club. The apparatus provides for accurate feedback of the correctness of the user's swing, while affording the user the freedom of movement, substantially without restriction.
Abstract: A fluid storage container provides a visual display of a fluid level therein. The container has a plurality of capillary tubes attached thereto, correlating to predetermined fluid levels within the container, and which may be visually observed upon inspection of the capillary tubes. Each of the capillary tubes has an inlet at a lower end thereof, and the inlets are located at different vertical levels from one another. When fluid in the container is at a level above an inlet of a given capillary tube, the capillary tube automatically fills with fluid, providing a visual signal of the fluid level.

Abstract: A sliding seat position detection system includes a sensor provided on a seat that can slide on a floor of a vehicle, and a magnetic shielding member provided on the floor. The detection system detects that the seat is at a front end position when the shielding member provides a shield between a permanent magnet and a magnetism detection part of the sensor. A non-magnetic cover member is attached to the shielding member. When the seat is at a position other than the front end position, the cover member is positioned between the permanent magnet and the magnetism detection part of the sensor, thereby preventing erroneous detection due to magnetic foreign matter and other magnetic substances caught in or attached to the sensor.
Abstract: An occupant restraint system includes an airbag and an inflator. An impact absorbing member is disposed at an upper part of the folded airbag, which is disposed along a roof side rail, at positions other than that of a center pillar, and an impact absorbing member is disposed at a lower part of the folded airbag at the position of the center pillar. This arrangement ensures that there is a distance between the airbag and the upper end of a center pillar garnish, thereby making it difficult for the deploying airbag to catch on the upper end of the garnish, and the impact absorbing member can guide the deploying airbag toward the occupant compartment, thereby more reliably preventing it from catching on the upper end of the garnish.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a valve train and decompression mechanisms disposed in a valve chamber, and a fuel pump attached to a cylinder head. A pump cam for driving the actuating rod of a fuel pump through a swing arm, and a decompression mechanism opposite an end journal relative to the pump cam with respect to an axial direction parallel to the axis of the camshaft are formed on the camshaft in the valve chamber. One of the decompression mechanisms is disposed between the pump cam and an exhaust cam. The swing arm has a contact tip in contact with the pump, cam and a pushing tip in contact with the actuating rod at a position nearer to the exhaust cam than the contact part with respect to the axial direction. The pump cam comes into contact with an end bearing supporting the camshaft to restrain the camshaft from axial movement.

Abstract: A method of improving wear-resistance and anti-seizing properties of slide surface of machineries, such as outer slide surfaces of piston pins of vehicle engines, wherein slide surfaces of iron or steel base materials of machineries are first processed carburizing, then the carburized surfaces are plated with chromium, and next the chromium-plated surfaces undergo impulses fine peening to produce lubricant-retaining cavities on the slide surfaces, which include fine cavities in the form of depressions in the chromium-plating layer and relatively large cavities produced by exfoliation of the chromium-plating layer.
Abstract: A method of analyzing blood using a near infrared apparatus, in which monochromatic near infrared light in a wavelength range of 700 nm-1100 nm from the slit of the near infrared apparatus is applied to a ceramic plate through an optical fiber to measure a transmitted light intensity of the ceramic plate, which is a reference material for spectrum measurement. Next, in place of the ceramic plate, a blood collection tube containing a blood sample which has been stabilized at a predetermined temperature by a water bath has the near infrared light applied thereto. A so-called near infrared absorption spectrum in which absorbance has been plotted against wavelengths is obtained and information about object characteristics of the blood is extracted from the spectrum data using a calibration equation predetermined using the near infrared apparatus in relation to blood specimens with different, known object characteristics.

Abstract: An occupant restraint system includes an airbag and an inflator. The front end of a gas supply pipe, which extends from the inflator housed in a rear pillar to the interior of the airbag and guides the gas generated by the inflator to the airbag, is substantially vertically aligned with front portion of a rear wheel wheelhouse of the vehicle. Since the gas supply pipe can be positioned in an area in which the vehicle body rigidity has been increased by the rear pillar and the wheelhouse, it can be effectively prevented from being damaged due to the impact of a side collision of the vehicle. Moreover, since the inflator is housed in the rear pillar, which is wider and more rigid than a front pillar, it is possible to minimize or effectively prevent damage to the inflator.
