Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To pass long data which cannot be passed conventionally by the GET method, by using the GET method. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] [1] Long data which cannot be passed by the GET method is read from storage means, divided into a plurality of data pieces of the length which can be passed by the GET method, and stored in storage means. [2] A number of program execution regions corresponding to the number of the divided data pieces are generated. [3] The data pieces stored in the storage means are distributed to the generated program execution regions by the GET method. [4] In the respective program execution regions which have received the data pieces by the GET method, transfer programs are executed and the respective transfer programs search regions for executing a program performing coupling. [5] The data pieces are passed to the regions for executing the program performing coupling of the data searched from the respective transfer programs.
Abstract: An electrochemical anode is formed using friction stir welded (FSW) joints. A FSW joint may be formed between the bus bar and anode sheet or the lead encapsulation and anode sheet. The FSW joints may also comprise fillet and butt joints. FSW joints may also be utilized to seal the ends of the electrochemical anodes to prevent corrosion.

Abstract: A tool for removing material from a surface includes a body defining a longitudinal bore and an opening connecting an outer surface of the body to the longitudinal bore. A cutting element comprising a cutting surface is dimensioned to be at least partially received by the opening. The cutting surface is configured to translate from a first position to a second position in response to a centrifugal force. In the second position the cutting surface is extended outwardly through the opening, beyond the outer surface of the body. In one example, the tool may be used to remove material, such as oxidation, from the inner walls of a cylindrical article selected from a pipe and a tube.
Abstract: A transparent high-availability solution utilizing virtualization technology is presented. A cluster environment and management thereof is implemented through an automated installation and setup procedure resulting in a cluster acting as a single system. The cluster is setup in an isolated virtual machine on each of a number of physical nodes of the system. Customer applications are run within separate application virtual machines on one physical node at a time and are run independently and unaware of their configuration as part of a high-availability cluster. Upon detection of a failure, traffic is rerouted through a redundant node and the application virtual machines are migrated from the failing node to another node using live migration techniques.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a microlens includes forming a microlens by pressing a microlens mold having a reverse shape of a microlens formed therein on a microlens-forming film formed on a substrate to transfer the reverse shape of the microlens to the microlens-forming film. The microlens mold is formed by irradiating an inorganic resist film which is formed on a mold substrate with exposure light by relative two-dimensional scanning, and etching an exposed region of the inorganic resist film to form the reverse shape of the microlens. The irradiation intensity of the exposure light is adjusted to correspond to the depth of the reverse shape of the microlens from the surface of the inorganic resist film on the basis of profile data of the reverse shape of the microlens.

Abstract: Rotary axial peristaltic pumps, related methods and components. The rotary axial peristaltic pump generally comprises a platen having a platen surface, a tube positioned adjacent to the platen surface, cam that rotates about a rotational axis and has a cam surface that is spaced apart from the platen surface and a plurality of tube compressing fingers. The fingers move axially back and forth in sequence to sequentially compress segments or regions of the tube against the platen surface, thereby causing peristaltic movement of fluid through the tube. The fingers move back and forth on axes that are substantially parallel to the axis about which the cam rotates.

Abstract: Provided is a lateral electric field mode liquid crystal device including: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer and pixel electrodes and common electrodes. A lateral electric field mode liquid crystal device drives the liquid crystal layer by an electric field generated between the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes, a light shielding layer is formed on a surface of the second substrate disposed close to the liquid crystal layer. A coloring layer is also formed so as to overlap with the pixel electrodes. An overcoat layer protects the coloring layer, and an alignment film is formed. An electrostatic shielding layer is formed of a transparent conductive material on a surface of the overcoat layer.

Abstract: An article in the form of one of a plate, a sheet, a cylinder, and a portion of a cylinder, which is adapted for use as at least a portion of a wear resistant working surface of a roll is disclosed. The article includes a metal matrix composite comprising a plurality of inorganic particles dispersed in a matrix material. The matrix material includes at least one of a metal and a metal alloy, wherein the melting temperature of the inorganic particles is greater than the melting temperature of the matrix material. A plurality of hard elements are embedded in the metal matrix composite. The wear resistance of the metal matrix composite is less than the wear resistance of the hard elements, and the metal matrix composite preferentially wears away when the article is in use, thereby providing or preserving gaps between each of the plurality of hard elements at a working surface of the article.
