  • Patent number: 6173665
Abstract: In an embroidery sewing machine, a value setting screen on a display indicates parametrical items about the movement of an embroidering frame, i.e., “sewable area” and “stand-by position”, as well as parametrical items about the sewing operation, i.e., “thread-breakage sensitivity” and “number of stitch-back stitches”. An operator enters or designates optimum values for those parametrical items by operating numerical keys and cursor moving keys on a keyboard, and registers a name to be assigned to a set of values for those parametrical items. The set of values for those parametrical items are stored in a floppy disk in relation to the registered name. By simply designating one of the registered names correspondingly to a material to be sewn, the optimum values for the parametrical items are retrieved simultaneously and set for the sewing operation.

  • Patent number: 6053237
Abstract: The present invention relates to a door of the type having two parallel guide rails, a plurality of guide means (10, 50), which are adapted, when the door moves, to be guided by and run along the guide rails, a plurality of neighboring door leaf panels (2), which at opposite ends are connected to the associated guide means (10) of said plurality of guide means, and a bottom panel (4) which is pivotally connected to an adjoining panel (2) of said door leaf panels and, via releasable joints, connected to two associated bottom guide means (50) among said guide means.

  • Patent number: 6028829
Abstract: An information reading device for an optical disk has a peak level detector, a coupling capacitor, a comparator, and a resetting circuit. The comparator produces an on-track signal based on a detected peak signal from the peak level detector. Information tracks on the optical disk are searched based on a count of pulses of the on-track signal. The resetting circuit has a boundary detector and a switching circuit. The boundary detector produces a boundary signal indicative of the boundary between recorded and unrecorded regions on the optical disk. In response to the boundary signal, the switching circuit discharges stored charges of the coupling capacitor in the unrecorded region, causing detected peak signals in the recorded and unrecorded region to vary in amplitude across a common reference level.

  • Patent number: 5992939
Abstract: A head rest sleeve for receiving a head rest support rod having a diameter within a known tolerance range is formed of a resilient material and has a body having an axial bore. Integral with the inside of the body and disposed thereabout are at least two pairs of compressible crush ribs which protrude radially and extend the length of the body. The distance of protrusion of the ribs corresponds to the minimum possible diameter of the support rod. Located between each pair of ribs and integral therewith is a web which protrudes radially a distance corresponding to the maximum possible diameter of the support rod. When the support rod is inserted into the sleeve, the rod frictionally engages the crush ribs uniformly along its length and, when the diameter of the support rod is greater than the minimum possible diameter, compresses the ribs a uniform distance to allow the support rod to be moved in the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5984756
Abstract: The invention relates to a toy construction system comprising building elements of a first type having a pair of opposed walls that define a space between said opposed walls, wherein the space has, at the free edges of the opposed walls, an open end and two opposed open sides, and wherein those sides of the walls that face towards the space are provided with protrusions, and building elements of a second type having a coupling head that may, by snap-fit with the protrusions, be received and releasably secured in the space between the walls on a building element of the first type. The toy construction system is characterised in that the protrusions are situated at the free edges of the walls.

  • Patent number: 5983817
Abstract: A control system for a sewing machine, which is operable in a simulation manner as if the control system is connected to the sewing machine. When a sewing-machine control system starts a main control process, a status of its connection to a sewing machine is detected. If the connection is established, a connection flag is set. If it is not established, a connection flag is reset. A display device displays a menu select screen having a list of items, and a desired item is selected from the list. When the selected item is "Sewing process", the sewing-machine control device operates in the following manner. If the sewing-machine control device is not connected to the embroidering sewing machine, a virtual sewing-machine control program is executed to set "in-sewing" data for the pseudo status information, "0" as the initial value for a pseudo number-of-stitches; and "1800" for a pseudo rotation speed signal. The display device displays a pseudo sewing screen, constructed with those items of information.
