  • Patent number: 5939176
Abstract: An on-machine-seamable multi-axial press fabric for the press section of a paper machine is made from a base fabric layer assembled by spirally winding a fabric strip in a plurality of contiguous turns, each of which abuts against and is attached to those adjacent thereto. The resulting endless base fabric layer is flattened to produce first and second fabric plies joined to one another at folds at their widthwise edges. Crosswise yarns are removed from each turn of the fabric strip at the folds at the widthwise edges to produce seaming loops. The first and second fabric plies are laminated to one another by needling staple fiber batt material therethrough. The press fabric is joined into endless form during installation on a paper machine by directing a pintle through the passage formed by the interdigitation of the seaming loops at the two widthwise edges.

  • Patent number: 5938139
Abstract: A screen reeling device includes a frame, an axle, a driving member, an elongated roller, and a biasing member. The frame includes left and right bracket members. The axle has a proximate end mounted to the right bracket member, and a distal end. The driving member is retained slidably and rotatably on the frame and has a right transverse end wall proximate to the right bracket member, and a left end portion. The elongated roller is adapted to be wound with the screen thereon, and includes a left end portion journalled on the left bracket member and an axially hollowed right end portion which is sleeved securely on the left end portion of the driving member to be rotatable therewith. The biasing member biases the right transverse end wall axially toward the right bracket member.

  • Patent number: 5937717
Abstract: A device for feeding and discharging a work in an automatic hollow-pipe cutting apparatus comprises: a cutter device for cutting a hollow pipe; a cam lever driving mechanism for sending the hollow pipe to the cutter device; a fixed chuck device disposed near the cutter device; a movable chuck device disposed away from the cutter device; a movable die core disposed inside the cutter device and inside the hollow pipe; another cam lever driving mechanism for moving the movable chuck device; a stopper and ejector fitted to the fixed die core; whereby when the hollow pipe is fed to the cutter device, the fixed chuck device grasps and release the hollow pipe and the movable chuck device also grasps and release the hollow pipe but at timing different from grasping and releasing by the fixed chuck means and the feeding of the hollow pipe into the cutter device is performed by movement of the movable chuck device by means of the other cam lever driving mechanism, and after the hollow pipe is cut, during lowering of a

  • Patent number: 5936653
Abstract: A thermal transfer printing mechanism for use in a facsimile device includes a separating guide surface that is formed having a curve having a radius of curvature of not more than 1.2 mm. Consequently, the acceleration in a separating direction of an ink film separated from an image receiving sheet by the separating guide surface is increased, and the ink film is smoothly separated from the image receiving sheet. The separating guide surface may be formed as a bent thin plate, an embossed portion, a deformed edge of a supporting member, a plastic attachment, or a plastic tape. The separating guide surface is formed as a curve continuing from a feeding guide surface, and the feeding guide surface bends the sheet and the ink ribbon from a plane connecting a contact line of a thermal head and the ink ribbon and a contact line of the sheet and a sheet guide member provided downstream of the separating guide surface.

  • Patent number: 5931464
Abstract: In a sheet sorting device for distributing sheets consecutively fed from an image forming device such as a copying machine to sorting trays aligned in multiple stages at high speed, there are disposed sheet pressure members for pressing down preceding sheet or sheets previously introduced into the designated sorting tray so as to successfully introduce the following sheet into the designated sorting tray without being hindered by the preceding sheet or sheets on the designated sorting tray. Since the following sheet is in no way hindered by the preceding sheet on the sorting tray in entering into the designated tray by means of the sheet pressure members, the interval between the adjoining sorting trays can be reduced thus to diminish the sorting device in size.

  • Patent number: 5930877
Abstract: A peel seal zipper tape for reclosable plastic bags or packages includes a first and a second mutually interlocking zipper profile disposed on a top surface of a laminated film strip. The top surface is formed by a layer of a sealant material. The laminated film strip also has a middle layer, or core, of a material stiffer than the first and second mutually interlocking zipper profiles, and may also have a bottom layer of a sealant material. In use, the laminated film strip is folded over, and the zipper profiles are interlocked with one another. In doing so, portions of the top surface of the laminated film strip face inwardly, so that the folded film strip may be closed with a heat seal. The outside of the folded peel seal zipper tape, that is, the bottom layer of sealant material is bonded to plastic sheet material from which reclosable plastic bags or packages are made. In the production of the bags or packages, the mutually facing portions of the laminated film strip are sealed together.
