  • Patent number: 6702056
Abstract: A seatbelt retractor is capable of winding a seatbelt webbing on a spool driven by a spring and a motor. The seatbelt retractor includes a motor-power transmission device for controlling a motor-power transmission path to turn on and off transmission of motor power to the spool. The motor-power transmission device turns on only when the motor rotates in the belt winding direction to connect the motor-power transmission path and transmit the motor power to the spool. After a specific period of time since a buckle-releasing signal detecting release of a tongue from a buckle is received from a buckle switch, the motor control device rotates the motor in the belt winding direction. When a winding speed of the seatbelt webbing by the spring becomes less than a constant value, the motor-power transmission device is set to turn on so as to connect the motor-power transmission path.

  • Patent number: 6702219
Abstract: In a seatbelt retractor having a motor, a belt winding spool, and a switching mechanism that turns on and off a power transmission route between the motor and the spool, the switching mechanism includes a device that connects the power transmission route between the motor and the spool only when the motor rotates in the retracting direction. A ratchet mechanism allows the spool to rotate only in the retraction direction during the emergency operation, while allowing the spool in any directions in the normal operation. The resultant locking mechanism can be rapidly operated upon occurrence of an emergency, while the seatbelt retractor will not cause uncomfortable feeling or unpleasantness due to unnecessary locking when an occupant tries to withdraw the seatbelt.

  • Patent number: 6700116
Abstract: In an ion trap mass spectrometer, between an ion supply source and an ion trap, there are disposed an entrance gate electrode, an ion storing section for holding ions by accumulating them near an exit side by means of an RF voltage with an axial electric potential inclined from an entrance side to the exit side, and an exit gate electrode. When the ions are accumulated near the exit side, the exit gate electrode is opened to thereby introduce the ions in the pulse state into the ion trap. At this point, a voltage is not applied to a ring electrode of the ion trap, so that repulsion due to the voltage of the ring electrode is eliminated. Thereafter, when maximum amount of ions stay inside the ion trap, ring RF voltage is suddenly applied. Thus, the maximum amount of the ions can be introduced into the ion trap.

  • Patent number: 6698298
Abstract: A torque wrench for additional tightening inspection can measure a precise torque value by simply tightening the tightening bolt additionally. When the inspection bolt is tightened, the rotation of the wrench is detected before the rotation of the bolt due to the torsion of the wrench itself. The intersection P between a torque gradient line M obtained at that time and a torque gradient line N of a rotating state after the rotation of the bolt makes a measuring point. The torque value at this intersection P is determined to obtain a torque measurement. Here, the torque gradient line N is obtained by connecting several points each corresponding to a torque value of 90% of the torque value TA at the intersection PA with a referential torsional torque gradient line L.
