  • Patent number: 7231363
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for supporting the trading of bonds in a computerized system using broker dealers as intermediaries. Broker dealers receive orders relating to particular transactions and have the option to accept the order by submitting a matching counter order, or to rebroker the order with the same or modified terms to a number of other investors or additional broker dealers. The additional broker dealers have similar options, thus providing a system wherein orders can be quickly proliferated to a large number of parties. This order proliferation can be fully or partially automated through the use of predefined rules stored in a database which dictate for each broker dealer whether, to whom and under what terms to rebroker orders. When an order is received, the system processes all such rules to output a set of orders which are then communicated to the corresponding parties.

  • Patent number: 7212622
Abstract: A networking system includes telephone switches and data network gateways for routing calls either over the public telephone network or over the packet switched data network. A router examines initiated calls and selects either the telephone network or a data network for completing the call. A Network Operations Center (NOC) monitors the performance of plural gateways, and updates routing information in the router and/or in the gateways, which may be used for future calls.

  • Patent number: 7203427
Abstract: A system, method and device for AO2R is presented. The AO2R system presented is redundant, containing multiple pathways for the input and output signals to travel. The system carries out both the regeneration and reshaping functions in the optical domain, and returns a clean output signal at the same bit rate and in the same format as the input signal, on a wavelength of choice. As an all optical device, the apparatus is bit rate and format transparent, and requires no optical-electrical-optical conversion. The system's built in redundancy and symmetry allows less than perfect yields on components to be tolerated, thus increasing the utility of devices manufactured with less than perfect yields. In alternative embodiments the redundancy aspect of the invention can be extended to any optical signal processing device, thus facilitating high availability optical signal processing.

  • Patent number: 7190909
Abstract: Method and apparatus are presented for the generation and detection of maintenance signals in an optical data network. The maintenance signals are such that they can be read both by high bit-rate and low bit-rate receivers. Detection of the maintenance signals occurs in two stages. In a low bit-rate first stage each nodal input port is sampled in a round robin fashion to detect the presence of a maintenance signal. In a high bit-rate second stage the maintenance signal is verified and read by a high speed receiver, along with other high bit-rate information transmitted with it. One second stage high speed receiver is shared among M input channels for cost and circuit efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7184429
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus are presented for the adaptive optimization of call quality and marginal profit in a telephony over data network, where the network contains a plurality of destinations, where calls are routable to each destination via a plurality of gateways in route to such destination, and where said gateways may serve more than one destination. The method comprises continually monitoring call traffic to each destination to first analyze whether the destination is currently volatile. If it is not, no action is taken. If it is, the method then reallocates the destination's traffic among some or all of the gateways in route to it.
