Abstract: Process for producing encapsulable globules by means of a film polymerized in situ, applicable particularly to the production of breeding substrates for entomophagous insects in the form of artificial lepidoptera eggs, in which process drops are frozen for their encapsulation and comprising the stages of: forming a jet of the substance to the frozen and spraying said jet in the form of drops by disintergration of said jet; collecting said drops on a cellular grid which is held at the surface of a bath of cryogenic liquid having a density less than that of said substance; sifting the frozen globules derived from the drops on at least one sieve immersed in the bath beneath said cellular grid.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for preparation of crystallized monohydrated sodium phenylpyruvate comprising: hot reacting benzaldehyde in an aqueous medium in the presence of a catalytic quantity of ethanolamine with the stoichiometric quantity of hydantoin, then treating the reactional medium hot at pH=14 through an excess of sodium hydroxide, acidifying to pH=9 with concentrated hydrochloric acid the so obtained solution and separating the formed precipitate.
Abstract: A plug-in type of power supply, as an improvement of regular power supply units, specifically a separate structure of the transformer apart from the frame shell, structured to have the terminals on the output side of the transformer plugged into the circuit board so as to achieve in coupling with the power plunger provided on the bottom lid of the frame shell by means of a joint piece made of phosphoric copper, thus sealing up the frame shell, the transformer and the circuit board in the meantime being secured in the frame shell to become a finished power supply unit, the structure of such a power supply unit designed as such through straight-in plunge-in plugging thereby simplifying assemblage and facilitating replacement of parts during assemblage processing, and quality control running as well, thus serving to reduce failure and rejection rates of the products and to aid in automatic mass production by virtue of such piecewise assemblage processings.
Abstract: In veneer slicing, the surface portion of the log or block to be sliced is heated but to a relatively shallow depth. Heating preferably is effected by infrared radiation, whereby the large hot water vats at present in use can be dispensed with, and a veneer of very high quality is obtained at lower cost and with a minimum of waste.

Abstract: Arcuate concrete segments of a tunnel lining are joined together by means of a recess in a segment edge having a pair of abutment members projecting into the recess to define a constriction therein, the abutment members forming a pair of abutment surfaces facing inwardly of the constriction, and a screw-threaded headed bolt in an adjacent segment, the segments being positioned edge to edge with the bolt inserted in the recess and moved relatively to each other so that the bolt head engages the abutment surfaces. The recess is accessible from inside the lining to allow the bolt head to be tightened.
Abstract: A process for preparation of substituted acetic acids having the general formula I:Ar--CHR--COOH Iin which R is selected from the group consisting in one hydrogen atom and C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl radicals, and Ar is selected from the group consisting in radicals of aromatic nature selected from the following radicals: 2-thienyl, 2-methoxy-1-naphthyl, 3,4-methylenedioxy-phenyl, and the substituted phenyls of the general formula II: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting in hydrogen and C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl groups, and R.sub.
Abstract: A folding umbrella which erects and folds with a through-the-roof motion and has a frame of flexible booms, two of which are pivoted at the top end of the handle and two of which are hinged to the pivoted booms, with a canopy of non-stretch material.
Abstract: A grass trimmer has an elongated operation rod, a prime mover mounted on one end of the operation shaft, a transmission shaft extended through the operation rod, a gear box connected at its one end to the other end of the operation rod, and a cutting blade member connected to a blade driving shaft projected from the other end of the gear box, the transmission shaft and the blade driving shaft being drivingly connected to each other through gears within the gear box. The gear box 5 is composed of a plurality of steel sheets 7,8 which are shaped beforehand to define, when assembled together, a hollow 17 of a circular cross-section and to have longitudinal flanges 9,9 and 10,10. The steel sheets 7,8 are joined to each other to form the gear box in one body by hemming along the flanges 9,9 and 10,10 such that the flanges are superposed and folded one on the other to form fold-back portions 11,11 along the length of the gear box 5.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring and obtaining actual bio-electrical characteristics of a subject under predetermined conditions of evoked response stimuli, and by interaction with a computer, applying cutaneous electrical stimulation to the subject, using a signal generator to modify current amplitude and frequency in a direction to achieve bio-electrical characteristics in the subject related to the actual bio-electrical characteristics monitored. The signal generator uses a sinusoidal waveform output, with battery power passed through a transformer to power a transconductance amplifier to obtain constant current output despite resistance changes in the line with the subject, and with the transformer not placed in the signal path of the sinusoidal waveform. The signal may be obtained from a sinusoidal oscillator of wide frequency having switched integrator sections connected to an inverting amplifier, pulse generator and gating.
Abstract: A hydraulic motor comprises vanes slidable axially in lodgings of a rotor against a continuous stator bottom surface. The motor works with a hydrostatic transmission of power applied to rolling stock. The bottom surface has recesses formed therein on movable elements of stator wherein a constant pilot pressure is fed to said movable elements and the motor is a self regulated variable capacity motor since the capacity thereof results from the depth of the recesses due to the opposition of two forces, one from the pilot pressure and the other from a pressure coming from the resisting torque.

Abstract: Pure crystalline racemic sodium parahydroxymandelate free from any ions of chloride, acetate, formate and sulfate group, is manufactured by condensing in water, in the presence of sodium hydroxide at a temperature between 30.degree. and 100.degree. C., glyoxylic acid or sodium glyoxylate with an excess of phenol, concentrating it hot, until the start of crystallization of the solution thus obtained after neutralization and removal of the unconverted phenol either by steam distillation, or by extraction with a water-immiscible organic solvent. The resulting suspension obtained is cooled, drained after some hours of standing at a temperature close to 5.degree. C., and the resulting precipitate recovered by washing it with iced water followed by drying to constant weight. The product is useful for the manufacture of crystalline sodium paraformylphenolate.
Abstract: The invention concerns a helicopter rotor, the rigid hub (1) of which comprises a central drum (2) which is disposed substantially in line with the rotor mast (3) and which carries an upper plate (4) and a lower plate (6). Abstract: A conventional conduction pressing apparatus for consolidating of composite products by pressure and heat is converted to a press in which heating is carried out by convection. This is accomplished by providing caul plates for use on the working surfaces on the press plattens, the caul plates having a central permeable area and a peripheral impermeable area, as well as appropriate sealing elements. Holes are drilled through the press plattens in order to provide a passageway for steam from an outside source to the central permeable areas of the caul plates.
Abstract: A high speed rotor for use with a flywheel comprising a hub, a rim centered with respect to said hub, connecting arms, each in the form of an elongated loop connecting said rim to said hub. The inner end of each loop is centered and maintained against the centrifugal force through a central member belonging to the hub while the outer end of said loop is bearing against the rim, a mass included within said outer end providing elongation of the loop under the effect of centrifugal force to ensure constant contact between said connecting arms and said rim.
