  • Patent number: 8162747
Abstract: A game control program is provided to improve user convenience of a game. A game control unit executes a game program, and records a history into a history holding unit while controlling progress of the game. When an operation instruction to pause the game is accepted from the user, a pause control unit stops the progress of the game with the display screen at that point in time displayed. When a request to resume the game is accepted from the user, a resume control unit resumes the game after display screens and sound are reproduced from a point in time which is a predetermined period before the pausing point up to the pausing point.

  • Patent number: 8166482
Abstract: A thread status managing unit organizes a plurality of threads into groups and manages the status of the thread groups. A ready queue queues thread groups in a ready state or a running state in the order of priority and, within the same priority level, in the FIFO order. An assignment list generating unit sequentially retrieves the thread groups from the ready queue. The assignment list appends a retrieved thread group to a thread assignment list only when all threads belonging to the retrieved thread group are assignable to the respective processors at the same time. A thread assigning unit assigns all threads belonging to the thread groups stored in the thread assignment list to the respective processors.

  • Patent number: 8160005
Abstract: A method of scheduling uplink transmissions from a plurality of source user equipments to a base station is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of determining the amount of data in the data buffer of each of the user equipments, comparing the amount of data in the data buffers of the user equipments to obtain, for each user equipment, a relative indicator, the relative indicator indicating how full that user equipment's data buffer is in comparison to the data buffers of the other user equipments, and scheduling uplink transmissions in dependence on the relative indicators. In this way, each user equipment is given some knowledge of the state of the buffer in the other user equipments. The user equipments are therefore able to make more efficient scheduling decisions. This can improve the throughput and give lower packet delivery delays.

  • Patent number: 8153299
Abstract: In an improved rechargeable alkaline manganese cell that has a manganese dioxide cathode comprising pellets formed by pressing a cathode powder blend comprising a hygroscopic additive for increasing cumulative capacity, the sticky consistency of the pellets, which is un-desirable for continuous automated production is compensated for by the addition of up to 0.5% of a hydrophobic binder. This small amount leaves the cell performance substantially unimpaired, but provides the desired consistency for large-scale production. Further disclosed is an improved charge methodology for a rechargeable alkaline manganese cell wherein the charge current is pulsed at a voltage in excess of 1.65 V and the no-load cell voltage response is monitored at predetermined intervals. No charge current pulse is permitted to pass through the cell if the no-load voltage exceeds a threshold value. This results in increased utilization of the capacity of the cell while reducing the likelihood of damage to the cell due to overcharging.

  • Patent number: 8155591
Abstract: A user information management unit of a terminal generates a management number for respective users. A terminal to terminal communication unit communicates with another terminal through ad hoc communication, acquires a unique user ID set for the other user, and stores the user ID in a friend information storing unit. The data generated in a data generation unit is transmitted to a server from a sending unit along with a destination user ID selected from user IDs stored in a friend information storing unit. A reception unit in the server stores the transmitted data in a data storing unit for each destination user ID. When the server receives a connection request from a terminal, a connecting user information acquisition unit in the server identifies a user ID of a connection origin and a data retrieving unit transmits the data to the terminal by retrieving a data storing unit based on the user ID, indicating the user requested for the connection as a destination.

  • Patent number: 8156225
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of accepting a QoS request for utilizing resources of a network in a predetermined quality. The method receives from a terminal connected to the network a resource unnecessity notification indicating that resource allocated to the terminal has become unnecessary, and holds, as a free resource information, information on a free resource which is a resource notified by the resource unnecessity notification as unnecessary resource. Then, the method receives the QoS request from the terminal, and determines whether the free resource meets the received QoS request or not on the basis of the free resource information. The method allocates the free resource to the terminal when the free resource meets the received QoS request, and transmits information on the allocated free resource to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 8151275
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for storing a copy of memory-mapped I/O (MMIO) register are provided for enhancing data processing efficiency. In a structure in which data processing is executed by associating a plurality of logical processors with a physical processor by timing sharing, a host OS stores copy information, namely, shadow, of the MMIO register corresponding to a logical processor in memory both in an active state where a physical processor is allocated to a logical processor corresponding to a guest OS and in an inactive state where no physical processor is allocated to a logical processor. This structure enables a guest OS to gain faster access to the MMIO register through the shadow by memory access, instead of a direct access to the MMIO register, so as to achieve efficient data processing.
