  • Patent number: 8148921
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for propagating optical signals via optical cables such as plastic optical fiber, known as lightguide joint and mingled with the electrical wiring and home automation system for controlling LED illuminators enclosed in standard screw type bulb bases or plug-in bases, such as used for halogen lamp via optical signal propagated through such standard bases. Same optical signals are propagated through power outlets and via power cable assemblies to electrical appliances for controlling the appliances operation and on-off switching. Full range of control, distribution, signal conversion, keypads and touch screen including video interphones monitors and shopping terminals operate and controls such home automation via the optical cables.

  • Patent number: 8143155
Abstract: After forming a pressure-bonded ball and a ball neck by bonding an initial ball to a pad, a capillary is moved upward, away from a lead, and then downward, thereby the ball neck is trodden on by a face portion that is on the lead side of the capillary. Subsequently, the capillary is moved upward and then toward the lead until the face portion of the capillary is positioned above the ball neck, thereby a wire is folded back toward the lead. Then, the capillary is moved downward such that a side of the wire is pressed by the capillary against the ball neck that has been trodden on. After the capillary is moved obliquely upward toward the lead and then looped toward the lead, the wire is pressure-bonded to the lead.

  • Patent number: 8145152
Abstract: A gain temperature compensation circuit producing a relatively small loss of power, and enabling modification of a variation width of the attenuation amount in a predetermined temperature range is provided. A gain temperature compensation circuit includes a circulator and a thermistor. The circulator outputs a signal being input to a first port to a second port, and outputs the signal being input to the second port to a third port. The thermistor being connected to the second port reflects the signal being output from the second port by varying the power of the signal according to temperature, so as to input to the second port, in order to adjust the attenuation amount of the signal.

  • Patent number: 8142135
Abstract: A dolly is disclosed for a semi-trailer that has a compromised structure due to a load shift or an accident. The semi-trailer dolly can also be used to extricate a semi-trailer stuck under a bridge without damaging the wheels or tires of the semi-trailer. In accordance with an important aspect of the present invention, the dolly is configured to provide transverse support of a semi-trailer in an area between the rear axles of the semi-trailer and the front of the semi-trailer. More particularly, the dolly is configured to provide a uniform transverse lifting force to a semi-trailer in an area between the rear axles of a semi-trailer and the front of a semi-trailer where a structural failure of the semi-trailer is likely to occur. The semi-trailer dolly includes a removable saddle and a wheeled cart that includes lifting mechanisms. The removable saddle can be removed from the wheeled cart and positioned under the trailer.

  • Patent number: 8144753
Abstract: An A/D converted and inputted signal is stored in a memory. A sliding correlator sequentially reads the signal stored in the memory and despreads this signal. A despreading timing is adjusted and then the candidate for a despreading code is outputted from a code generation circuit. The despreading code outputted at a predetermined timing is used for obtaining a correlation value of signals outputted from the memory, using the sliding correlator. Thus, by storing signals in the memory, fluctuation of a correlation value caused by fading does not occur while specifying a code or detecting a despreading timing.

  • Patent number: 8136632
Abstract: A collapsible platform assembly for an extension ladder is disclosed that can be used to support the top of an extension ladder with respect to a roof. The collapsible platform assembly includes a platform that is rotatably connected to a rung of an extension ladder near the top. In a storage or retracted position, the platform is generally co-planar with the ladder; i.e fits between the side rails of the extension ladder. In a use position, the platform can be extended and directly supported by the roof, either flat against a roof or alternatively at an acute angle relative to the roof. Since the platform is configured to be directly supported by the roof, the platform acts as a rigid support for the top of the ladder which does not deflect under load as there is an even weight transfer from the ladder to the platform in use.

  • Patent number: 8140467
Abstract: A control section virtually divides a surface of an adsorbing material into a plurality of regions (cells) in accordance with a computer program. Further, the control section-allocates a normal distribution function to each of the divided cells, and sets a linear combination of the normal distribution functions allocated to all cells to a trial function. Moreover, the control section solves a Schrödinger equation based upon a potential on the surface of the adsorbing material by a numerical variational method, to calculate a wave function. Then, based upon the calculated wave function, the quantum state of the atom or the molecule adsorbed on the surface of the adsorbing material is estimated.

  • Patent number: 8136339
Abstract: The oil-free chain is obtained by connecting a pair of inner link plates which are connected by oil-impregnated bushings and a pair of outer link plates, which are connected by pins inserted into adjacent oil-impregnated bushings of adjacent inner link plates alternately. The oil-impregnated bushing is obtained by impregnating a bushing made of a metal sintered body with perfluoropolyether having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. equal to or higher than 350 mm2/s. The bushing is impregnated with perfluoropolyether having a kinematic viscosity corresponding to the operating temperature of the oil-free chain.

  • Patent number: 8134473
Abstract: A sheet switch (142) has a bottom layer (144) and a top layer (160). First and second conductors (148, 162) located on the bottom layer (144) form two separate conductive paths, with a voltage potential applied to the conductors (148, 162). The top layer (160) includes a ground conductor (172). Spacers (178) are positioned between the top and bottom layers (160, 144). When forces are externally applied, the spacers (178) collapse and the ground conductor (172) contacts the first and second conductors (148, 162), and establishes a conductive path therebetween.

Abstract: A dolly is disclosed for a semi-trailer that has a compromised structure due to a load shift or an accident. The dolly provides transverse support between the axles. The dolly includes a lift mechanism that provides a uniform lifting force, transversely to a trailer between the axles where a structural failure of the trailer is likely to occur. • Patent number: 8135284
Abstract: In a method and device which can quickly detect a fiber misconnection without setting an expected value, a node identifier of source node and an identifier of an interface for inputting/outputting a signal are set in a predetermined first field of a header to be transmitted to a destination node, and when both identifiers set in the first field are received from the destination node, both identifiers are set in a predetermined second field of the header to be transmitted and stored with the first field. When the identifiers set in the first and second fields are received and the identifiers of the second field among the identifiers are consistent with the identifiers of the first field stored at the second step (means), a connection is determined to be correct.
