Abstract: A spiral spline groove machine apparatus for manufacturing a sealed spiral spline pipe connection by machining spiral grooves into the bell and spigot end of a length of pipe. A rotating cutter is adapted to cut a spiral groove in the inside of the bell of the pipe or machine the recessed external groove on the male end of the pipe. The cutter is adapted to float on the surface contour of the pipe to allow for variations in the wall thickness of the pipe and provide a consistent depth for the cut in the wall of the pipe without regard to the symmetry of the circular cross section of the pipe. An exit port machining device is also disclose to cut an exit port connected to the inside spiral groove on the bell end of the pipe. Another unique aspect of the invention is the use of a rotational to linear converter using a lead screw to move an entire rotating assembly having the motor output fixed directly to the cutter without an expansion joint.
Abstract: A baler utilizing gas springs for controlling the movement of a loading door. Also disclosed is a baler for paper recycling having a control system responsive to switches and digital timers, and an electromagnetic interlock coupling a loading door and a chamber door, said control system including a programmable relay having outputs to motor starter, control valves, and electromagnetic interlock. A mode selection switch enables automatic, manual down, and manual up modes, the latter of which is used to eject a bale. The electromagnetic interlock performs multiple functions reducing the number of components needed in the system, improving reliability and reducing maintenance.
Abstract: A tool, specifically described for a hex wrench, using a split head with the pieces joined by an elastic connector allowing for deformation of the exterior of the head shape to wedge into the hex socket. The split pieces of the head have an exterior profile matching the shape of the socket and the interior split has a cam profile that enhances the wedging action of the tool. The elastic allows for the tool to return to the original shape.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in connection with home television receivers involving processing an electronic signal, including audio and video processors; the audio information, including digital representations thereof, is analyzed and modified to compare words and phrases represented in the audio information with words and phrases stored in electronic memory for elimination of undesirable words or phrases in audible or visible representations of the audio with options for replacing undesirable words with acceptable words. The options include varying degrees of selectivity in specifying words as undesirable and control over substitute words which are used to replace undesirable words. The options for control of the method and apparatus for language filtering are selectable from an on-screen menu through use of a conventional television remote transmitter.
Abstract: A novel millet cultivar, designated GG102, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of millet cultivar GG102, to the plants of millet GG102 and to methods for producing a millet plant produced by crossing the cultivar GG102 with itself or another millet variety. The invention further relates to hybrid millet seeds and plants produced by crossing the cultivar GG102 with another millet cultivar.
