  • Patent number: 5398463
Abstract: Various embodiments of a multiple-unit mobile display pavilion are shown and described. Each embodiment includes a trailer for being attached to a wheeled chassis and a vehicle, solid portions on a first side wall and second side wall that are offset from each other, doors on the first side wall and second side wall that are offset from each other and that each swing down to a slanted position against the ground, a support system on the inner surface of each of the doors for receiving and displaying merchandise, and latches for securing each of the doors when it is closed. The support system on each door is preferably a series of steps that transforms each door into a terraced platform. The two-sided and offset arrangement of the doors and solid portions allows walk-around shopping on two sides of the pavilion and allows two or more businesses to conveniently operate in the pavilion, while also keeping the trailer architecturally strong.

  • Patent number: 5377852
Abstract: Embodiments of a bottle holder are shown and described, each embodiment having an enclosure wall, with an open mouth and an open bottom, into which a disposable liner may be placed. The bottle holder has a lip around the open mouth, over which the open end of the liner is placed and onto which a nipple assembly is secured. The bottle holder also has a bottom support flap that may be pivoted across the open bottom and secured by a latch-means. This bottom support flap forms a temporary floor, which is especially useful for supporting large liquid volume, such as a two-quart calf feeding. Optionally, the bottle holder may be tapered and made stackable.

  • Patent number: 5323676
Abstract: The invention is a bar chord machine for stringed musical instruments with frets. The machine has a generally longitudinal frame made of two parallel spaced-apart rods with clamps for securing the frame next to and generally parallel to the neck of the stringed instrument. One rod acts as a pivot point for a plurality of lever presses which extend perpendicularly from the rod in spaced apart relationship out over the top of the fingerboard of the instrument. The other rod acts as a pivot stop for the lever presses, and as an attachment point for springs connected to the lever presses which bias them away from the fingerboard. The lever presses have a channel in their central underside for receiving a presser bar which is pivotally connected to the lever press and spring biased away from it. The presser bar has a pad on its bottom surface for pressing down uniformly on the instrument's strings near a fret.

  • Patent number: 5299528
Abstract: Various embodiments of a raptor protection unit for installation on a power pole crossbar are shown and described, each having a clamp system secure enough to hold a perch on the crossbar. Each embodiment includes two side-lock clamps, which each have a stationary C-shaped brace, for bracing against the top, a side, and the bottom of the crossbar, and an L-shaped side-lock, for exerting pressure on the opposing side of the crossbar. The two side-lock clamps may face the same direction or opposite directions. For embodiments with same-direction side-lock clamps, an optional bottom-lock clamp may be placed between the side-lock clamps, for exerting pressure on the bottom of the crossbar. The raptor protection unit includes a perch and/or a roost guard.

  • Patent number: 5279577
Abstract: A hypodermic appliance for facilitating a one-handed uncapping and recapping of hypodermic apparatus and the like. An appliance separate from the hypodermic apparatus includes an elongated tapered opening in a plate through which a needle-covering sheath of a hypodermic apparatus is placed. The tip of the sheath abuts a tip holder which provides a fulcrum point for rocking the hypodermic apparatus from the wider portion of the opening to the narrower portion of the opening and vice-versa. The sides of the sheath are gripped in the narrower portion of the opening, whereupon the needle may be withdrawn from the sheath leaving the sheath lodged in the appliance. After using the hypodermic apparatus, the needle is reinserted by the use of only one hand into the sheath, and then the capped hypodermic apparatus is rocked to the wider portion of the opening and withdrawn from the appliance.

  • Patent number: 5279232
Abstract: A modular shelving interconnection assembly is disclosed. The assembly has two (2) substantially upright, spaced-apart side panels with holes extending through their lateral surfaces at approximately equal distances from their bottoms. Tabs of shelf support units extend through the holes in the side panels. Pegs in the shape of split, truncated cones extend through the holes in the tab on the outside of the panels, and cooperate with the holes in the tabs and the outside surface of the panels to secure the shelf-support units to the panels. The modular assembly may be repeated in the direction of the shelf support unit to extend it to a wall-length shelving unit.

  • Patent number: 5262757
Abstract: An electronic audible warning device (10), which includes a power source (18), a motion detector (401), a pleasant tone generator (100, Q1, Q3), a loud piercing tone generator (100, Q1, Q2) and a remote push button activation switch (19) is disclosed. Signaling device (10) provides two distinct features, each responsive to remote activation switch (19). A single depression on push button switch (19) will sound an unobtrusive, pleasant sounding two second pulsating warning tone. Two consecutive pushes on push button (19) will sound an attention-getting pulsating signal, similar to the backup beeper on commercial trucks, which will continue to sound until button (19) is pressed again. An additional feature is provided which is responsive to a motion detector (401). Here, a loud, piercing tone is sounded whenever a bicycle (1) or similarly attached article is moved. The alarm is activated and deactivated via an electrical key switch (402) which is installed directly in main housing (11).
