  • Patent number: 5878914
Abstract: A water gun (10) is provided having a storage tank (18), a expandable pressure tank (19) having an elastic bladder (30) encased within an outer shell (29), and a pump (32) for conveying liquid from the storage tank to the expandable pressure tank. The conveyance of liquid into the expandable pressure tank causes the liquid to be pressurized by the biasing force of the elastic bladder. The pressurized liquid is released through a nozzle (21) coupled to the expandable pressure tank by actuation of a trigger (17). The storage tank may be collapsible to prevent the storage of air therein or be coupled to a fluid selective check valve to prevent air from being pumped into the pressure tank.

  • Patent number: 5876378
Abstract: A liquid metering and injecting device has a reservoir (10), a pump means (11) and a delivery tube (13) in fluid communication. A motor (19) of the pump means (11) is controllably operated so that a plunger (18) is reciprocated within a cylinder (17). A valve means (32) directs the flow of liquid from the reservoir (10) to the pump means (11) as the plunger (18) is retracted and from the pump means (11) to the delivery tube (13) as the plunger is extended without backflow. With this construction, a selected amount of liquid (14) is periodically metered and injected to a patient.

  • Patent number: 5861128
Abstract: An air freshening device is made from a solution of a polymer and a fragrant material, which is applied to an air permeable substrate. A solid fragrant residue is formed on the substrate. A fragrant material diffuses from the residue for scenting flowing through and about the substrate. Means are provided for attaching the substrate to an air filter received in a forced air heating, ventilating, and cooling system.

  • Patent number: 5855544
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for mounting constructing a flexible a tubular fitment (10) to a flexible container (11) and to the resulting product. The fitment is mounted upon a mandrel (24) having an extendable bearings in the form of an annular array of balls (27). The mandrel supporting the fitment is positioned within the container body (11) and the assembly positioned in heat sealing dies (33,34) having an annular channel (35) sized to receive the fitment. The dies have a groove (36) extending from the channel. The balls are then outwardly extended into the groove and the mandrel rotated to cause the balls to orbit in a circle and seal the fitment to the flexible container oven an annular protrusion (38).

  • Patent number: 5852926
Abstract: A balanced strand includes a fibrous core about which load bearing fibers are twisted. The fibrous core has an elongation factor of at least 10% and comprises approximately up to 30% of the material volume of the strand. The load bearing fibers have an elongation factor less than the fibrous core and a strength of at least 15 g denier. The load bearing fibers comprise the remaining strand material volume.

  • Patent number: 5850941
Abstract: A water gun (10) is provided having a pressure tank (19) in fluid communication with a coupler (20) adapted to be received upon a conventional water faucet, and a pump (42) for conveying additional air to the pressure tank. The flow of water from the water faucet draws ambient air which is compressed within the pressure tank to pressurize the water therein. The pressurized liquid is released through a nozzle (21) coupled to the pressure tank by actuation of a trigger (17).

  • Patent number: 5848511
Abstract: A cast cementitious block for constructing a low-rise interconnected ornamental wall having a first course of the blocks placed side-by-side and a second course of the blocks stacked in side-by-side relation on the first course and off-set relative the first course. The blocks define a bottom surface and an opposing top surface, a front face and an opposing back face, and two opposing sides that each define side faces between the front face and the back face. The top surface defines a recessed cavity having an alignment point, and the block further defines a bore extending therethrough and open at the top surface and the bottom surface. The longitudinal axis of the bores of the blocks in the second course align with respective alignment points of the recessed cavities of the blocks in the first course. Adhesive fills the aligned recessed cavities and at least a portion of the respective bores. The adhesive cures to define rivets interconnecting the blocks in the first and the second courses.
