Abstract: Systems and methods for providing light therapy traction to a patient. A light therapy device and a traction mechanism provide concurrent, alternating and/or repetitive treatment to a patient. The light therapy device includes one or more light sources configured to deliver light to a patient. The traction mechanism is configured to provide selective separation to a particular location the patient's body, such as a location of the patient's vertebrae. In some embodiments, the light therapy and traction are performed simultaneously. In other embodiments, the light therapy and lumbar traction are performed in treatment cycles to the patient. Embodiments of the present invention embrace the application of light therapy prior to, during, and/or after a cervical and/or lumbar traction treatment.

Abstract: A system and method for distributing and providing access to media and for extending such access to a desktop environment is described. A media player in a webpage or in a desktop environment may reference a centralized location to access a playlist of media files. The playlist itself may reference remotely-located media files that may be streamed to the media player. The media player may be distributed in multiple environments, and updates to the playlist may be automatically distributed to all instances where the playlist is referenced due to the centralized reference in the media player. The embodiments of the media player may also be used in advertising as a mechanism for increasing user contact with an advertising entity and as a mechanism for distributing announcements and information by the advertiser.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a process for dissolving gas in a liquid is provided. The process comprises: tangentially introducing a liquid into a cylindrical chamber having a cylindrical inner wall with sufficient volume and pressure to develop a vortex in the flowing liquid; introducing gas into the flowing liquid during at least a portion of its travel along vessel, the gas being introduced orthogonally to the stream through means located at the chamber inner wall for developing gas bubbles within the liquid. The apparatus comprises: a cylindrical chamber having a cylindrical inner wall, the chamber being oriented in any direction enclosed at both ends and with an entry port to introduce liquid to develop a spiral flow of liquid along the chamber inner wall toward the output end, a porous wall to permit the introduction of gas orthogonally into the stream to develop gas bubbles within the stream, and an exit port to discharge the mixture of gas bubbles and liquid.

Abstract: Disclosed are a multi-layer substrate and a manufacturing method of the multi-layer substrate. By employing a carrier to alternately form dielectric layers and metal structure layers thereon. Each dielectric layer adheres with the adjacent dielectric layer to embed the metal structure layers in the dielectric layers corresponding thereto. Comparing with prior arts, which have to use prepregs when hot pressing and adhering different layers of different materials, the present invention takes fewer processes, thus, fewer kinds of materials without using prepregs. Therefore, the present invention can promote the entire quality and yield of manufacturing the multi-layer substrate to satisfy mechanical characteristic matching of the multi-layer substrate and to reduce cost of the whole manufacturing process.

Each of the conductive terminals comprises a plugging portion, a connection portion and an extension portion, wherein the plugging portion is protruded out of a surface of the plug body, and the connection portion and the extension portion are embedded in the plug body and are corresponding to two adjacent trenches, respectively.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention can relate to probe card assemblies, multilayer support substrates for use therein, and methods of designing multilayer support substrates for use in probe card assemblies. In some embodiments, a probe card assembly may include a multilayer support substrate engineered to substantially match thermal expansion of a reference material over a desired temperature range; and a probe substrate coupled to the multilayer support substrate. In some embodiments, the reference material may be silicon.

Abstract: Semiconductor devices that contain a system in package and methods for making such packages are described. The semiconductor device with a system in package (SIP) contains a first IC die, passive components, and discrete devices that are contained in a lower level of the package. The SIP also contains a second IC die that is vertically separated from the first IC die by an array of metal interposers, thereby isolating the components of the first IC die from the components of the second IC die. Such a configuration provides more functionality within a single semiconductor package while also reducing or eliminating local heating in the package. Other embodiments are also described.

Decoding is initialized using channel likelihood values estimated from a received physical signal. The decoding iteratively updates the variable nodes. Performing a combined check node and variable node calculation can enable reduced memory usage and faster convergence for the decoder.

A setting procedure and a correcting procedure having been performed on the pointer input system to obtain a space conversion relationship and an over-bright position. Abstract: The present invention provides a lightweight protective helmet having an improved ventilation system therein. The protective helmet comprises an outer shell and an inner liner that are joined together to form a shell/liner composite. The ventilation system interacts with one or more ventilation ports in the protective helmet to control the flow of ambient air in and out of the interior of the protective helmet. The ventilation system may be integrated or encased within the shell/liner composite, or it may be adapted to be used on the exterior of the helmet. In addition, the ventilation system may include one of several types of interchangeable insert members to allow active or passive control of ambient air into the interior of the helmet.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed that provide for automated financial resource allocation and accountability among various groups of budgeted accounts, which are overlaid on at least one actual account. The method provides for the user to establish the accounts to be budgeted. The user then establishes a preset spending allocation amount for each account. Each time the user makes a spending allocation for that particular account, the account reflects the amount spent and notifies the user of the remaining amount allocated for that account during a given period. Thus, the user has a more accurate accounting of an established budget with respect to the established accounts, the resources allocated to each account, and the funds actually spent from each account.

Abstract: A frequency synthesizer for providing clock signals with different frequencies for corresponding band transceivers and associated frequency synthesizing method are provided. The frequency synthesizer includes a phase-locked loop module having a single voltage controlled oscillator, a first frequency divider and a second frequency divider. At first, the single voltage controlled oscillator is activated to generate a primary clock signal. The first frequency divider frequency-divides the primary clock signal to generate a first clock signal for a first band transceiver. The first clock signal is further frequency-divided into a second clock signal for a second band transceiver. Therefore, the frequency synthesizer with the single voltage controlled oscillator can generate clock signals covering more than one frequency band.
