  • Patent number: 4775714
Abstract: A two-step process of immobilization of biologically efficient compounds is disclosed, in which the biologically efficient compounds are bonded from an aqueous solution by a hydrolytically stable linkage to a macroporous polymeric carrier containing reactive functional groups. In the first step, a hydrophobic adsorption occurs of the biologically efficient compounds on a macroporous matrix of the carrier, and an increase of their concentration on the solid surface. In the second step, the reaction takes place with the reactive functional groups of the carrier, and a covalent linkage is formed. The hydrophobic adsorption of compounds determined for immobilization is achieved by the addition of inorganic salts in a concentration from 0.5 to 3.0 mol/l. The invention can be utilized in the preparation of enzymatic catalysts for transformations of compounds and in the preparation of specific sorbents for both analytical and preparative affinity chromatography.

  • Patent number: 4765870
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacture of an electric moisture-content sensor comprising a porous layer of alumuniumoxihydroxide, the so-called boehmite, obtained by hydration of an aluminium substrate in boiling redistilled water and subsequent passivating tempering. This method, due to its simplicity, results in a larger yield in manufacture, reduced variations of parameters of individual sensors and a higher stability of their calibration curves.Due to the extraordinary prolonged stability of sensors manufactured according to this method, they can be for example applied for measuring of the moisture content of stored goods, for air-conditioning systems, for drying plants, in meteorology and also for microelectronics and in medicine.

  • Patent number: 4759254
Abstract: A weapon arrangement for a gun barrel adapted to fire a projectile the propellant charge of which is loaded separately from the projectile in to the loading chamber of the gun barrel. Such projectiles have a long range and can be fired at a rapid firing sequence. The wedge breech block is slidably movable mounted in a mating slit of the bottom member at an angle of about 65.degree. with respect to the vertical plane. The mating slit is open towards the rear. A loading tray is pivotally mounted on an extension of the cradle which extends parallel to the gun barrel axis. The loading tray pivots laterally from an inoperative position to a loading position in which it is in alignment with the gun barrel axis so that a projectile from an ammunition magazine can be fed via two ammunition feed chains to the loading tray. A transfer arm is pivotally mounted about the trunion axis of the gun barrel and serves to transfer the projectile from the feed chains to the loading tray.

  • Patent number: 4753274
Abstract: Method of and apparatus for weft thread insertion in a jet loom. Fluid weft thread insertion medium under pressure is fed to the weft thread along the axis of a spiral weft thread reserve, said axis coinciding with the weft thread insertion channel of the loom. The weft thread reserve is constantly rotated at a fixed speed with respect to the main shaft of the loom. The weft thread is discharged from the weft thread reserve in the form of a rotating balloon of an up twister, the weft thread being discharge through a tube disposed along the said axis which loosely confines the weft thread traveling from the apex of the balloon toward the shed of the loom. A nozzle for discharging fluid weft thread inserting medium is disposed within the balloon close to but spaced from the apex end thereof so as to discharge said fluid into the inner end of the weft thread guide where it impinges upon the rotating weft thread in loose spiral formation traveling through said guiding tube.

  • Patent number: 4754177
Abstract: A device for magnetic pulse treatment of ferromagnetic materials applicable in the engineering industry and used for changing the physicomechanical properties of materials treated, treats the material in a winding, positive potential being fed from a supply unit across a controllable switch to the anodes of first diodes and cathodes of second diodes which are energized. Capacitors then are charged to the voltage of the supply source for the time for which controllable switch is on. Then at different time intervals control pulses are fed to controlling thyristor electrodes. One capacitor discharges across the winding and energized thyristor; current in specific direction running across the winding. Then, the other capacitor and thyristor discharge and current of opposite direction runs across the winding, thus forming a bipolar pulse magnetic field affecting the material physical and mechanical properties, the magnetization and demagnetization running for about 1 minute.

  • Patent number: 4750531
Abstract: An automatic exchange device for format dependent cellular panels used in container-filling machines for filling containers with foodstuffs, flavorings or other liquid to pastiform products, the machines being arranged to pick-up and transport the containers whereby cellular panels are arranged adjacent to each other on a through-conveyor or periodically circulating conveyor and are corrected to the conveyor. A replacement mechanism for the cellular panels. The exchange of panels is effected with the assistance of a manipulator, which automatically detaches the connection with the assistance of a motor driven screw tool and also reattaches the connection after the exchange. After releasing the connection, the manipulator picks up the cellular panel by means of suction cups and removes it via the use of an elevator into a magazine, which, for example, is comprised of a drum with radially arranged partitions.

  • Patent number: 4747237
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for manufacturing finished turbine blades from a raw workpiece is disclosed wherein the path of a sanding shoe with respect to the workpiece is controlled as the workpiece is rotated on a spindle. The method involves plotting the profiles of the turbine blade in a number of planes, defining the profiles as a series of circle segments each having a center and an angular length, choosing an arbitrary center of rotation of the workpiece, measuring the distances from the center of rotation to each of the circle segment centers, plotting the hypothetical path of the center of rotation about each circle segment center by each corresponding angular length, and using the derived path of the center of rotation to control the movement of the shoe in a vertical direction and the workpiece in a horizontal direction as the workpiece rotates.

  • Patent number: 4747284
Abstract: A forming wheel carriage for a CNC controlled metal spinning machine having a forming wheel post arranged to be movable relative to a second slide, and a process for operation of the metal spinning machine. During operation the forming wheel post is attached relative to the second slide by means of a ball flexibly mounted on the second slide engaged into a recess of the forming wheel post. The ball deflects backwards during overload, and the forming wheel with the forming wheel post can deflect immediately relative to the second slide. The forming wheel post deflects within a horizontal plane in accordance with a pre-selected force independent of the direction of the overload force. The force can be changed during an overload at a relief valve by means of a control unit by way of a control line. This manner of attachment of the forming wheel post allows for an automatic registering of the spindle tool contour. The contour is recorded point by point.

  • Patent number: 4744266
Abstract: A manipulator module comprises an arm bearingly mounted on an axle, confined between left and right adjustable stops with a suitably completed fixing surface. On the arm are stationary mounted hard stops with slits, charged with helical cylindric springs. The springs contact the adjustable stops when the arm approaches the respective stop. Onto parallel guideways, formed by the stationary stops with slits, roll the extreme bearings of a three bearing bearings block, the intermediate bearing of which contacts the fixing surface of the respective stop while the mover is at "on" position. When the arm has reached the stop and has deformed the spring, the "fix" mover is actuated, the arm is fixed to the stop and the energy lost during the arm's movement is added.
