  • Patent number: 4863322
Abstract: A clamping device (5) is provided, which serves to fix a rotarty cutter (3, 3a) to a toolholder (2, 2a). The rotary cutter (3, 3a) has a planar radial contacting surface (15, 15a) for engaging a planar radial end face (16, 16a) of the toolholder. Load-applying means (7, 8a) are provided for forcing the rotary cutter by means of a conical interface (13) against the toolholder (2). In order to provide a simple clamping device by which the rotary cutter is secured to the toolholder exactly in a desired position, the load-applying means (7, 7a) engage clamping means (6, 6a), which define the conical interface (13) with the rotary cutter (3, 3a) and which are supported on the toolholder (2, 2a) at a cylinder interface (14) and are elastically deformed by the load-applying means.

  • Patent number: 4845905
Abstract: A skylight, having a wing actuated by pneumatic springs, can be moved to an emergency opening position thereby substantially exposing the opening area of the skylight case. The skylight also acts as a residential ceiling or attic skylight which has, in the normal open position, a considerably smaller opening than in the emergency open position. A locking device is provided to restrict the long extension stroke of the piston rod of the pneumatic springs to a partial stroke. This partial stroke allows an opening which essentially corresponds to the standard opening of the wing in a residential skylight. The locking device, located on the cylinder of the pneumatic spring, includes a specially designed latch which, in order to effect partial stroke restriction of the piston rod, lockingly engages a stop located on the side of the case by means of a catch pin.

  • Patent number: 4841964
Abstract: An inhaler is described for introducing a solid substance in particulate form into the inhaled air of a user. The inhaler comprises a body in which is provided an endless orbital path 3 for one or more balls 4. Air enters the path via an air inlet optionally through an intake conduit. Air leaves the orbital path 3 in a centripetal direction through an air discharge system and an air outlet. The solid substance to be inhaled is provided, preferably in the form of a film, on the surface of the orbital path or on the surface of the ball. A user inhales through the air outlet 8, and this causes air to be drawn into the orbital path through the air inlet. This causes the ball to circulate around the orbital path, in which process solid substance is dislodged and caused to flow with the air out through the outlet.

  • Patent number: 4835013
Abstract: In a process of manufacturing a substrate provided with a synthetic resin-bonded friction coating, the friction coating, which is joined to the substrate by a primer is formed in that a powder mixture which contains a friction powder and a synthetic resin powder is compacted and is cured at an elevated temperature. To eliminate the need for precompacting the powder mixture before it is applied to the substrate, said powder mixture is applied to the substrate to form a powder layer which can be compacted to the desired thickness of the friction coating. The powder layer which has been applied is then heated for a short time before the powder layer is compacted to the desired thickness of the friction coating.
