Abstract: Apparatus for measuring current in a conductor characterized by a magneto-optical current sensor employing the Faraday effect to measure current in a high voltage transmission line. Polarized light having a predetermined plane of polarization is directed into the sensor which plane of polarization is rotated by magnetic field lines generated by the current in the conductor. A bimetal coil rotates the sensor to achieve temperature stability of the current signal in the temperature range of -40.degree. C. to 140.degree. C.

Abstract: An electrical insulating bushing for conversion between various current ratings and characterized by a tubular column including an insulating portion, a tubular conductor extending through the column and connected to terminals at the top and bottom of the column, and another conductor disposed within the tubular conductor and connected to the terminal at the top of the column. In order to convert the bushing to a different current rating, a replacement conductor is provided which can be substituted for the conductor within the tubular conductor. The replacement conductor and tubular conductor are electrically connected together in spaced alignment near the bottom terminal by a conductive annulus and a coil spring.

That is less than the trip value.
Abstract: There is provided by this invention a current limiting fuse having a fuse element wound about support means consisting of a non-stoichiometric oxide core that produces an electro-negative gas when heated by the melting fuse element. The generation of the electro-negative gas results in more rapid and efficient arc extinction.
