Patent number: 6064538Abstract: A biasing/erasing oscillator includes a series circuit formed by an entire-width erasing head, a linear record erasing head and an inductor. The series circuit is connected in parallel with an oscillating capacitor to form an LC resonant circuit. The LC resonant circuit is connected to a base of a transistor through a direct current blocking capacitor. The transistor has an emitter is connected to a series junction point, for example, between a sound erasing head and the inductor. A collector of the transistor is supplied with a bias voltage, while the transistor base is supplied with a bias current through a bias resistor. The direct current blocking capacitor prevents the bias current from flowing into the LC resonant circuit.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1998Date of Patent: May 16, 2000Assignee: Funai Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yoshio Higuchii

Patent number: 6034728Abstract: A device that adds freeze-frame capability to camcorders or video cameras so that they can be used as a digital snapshot cameras. The freeze-frame adapter is designed as an add-on module which connects to the battery receptacle of the video camera or camcorder. The snapshot module contains both the freeze-frame electronics and the battery and replaces the battery of the camcorder. The battery provides power to both the camcorder and the photo adapter module. No modifications of the camcorder are required. The video signal used as the source of images for the freeze-frame adapter is derived from the Audio-Video output of the camcorder. The unit is always on and ready for use whenever the camcorder is on. Still images can be acquired simultaneously to video. The viewfinder of the camcorder also operates as the viewfinder in the snap-shot mode. The image is captured by pressing a shutter button on the freeze-frame adapter. Images can be acquired while the camcorder is filming.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1996Date of Patent: March 7, 2000Inventor: Luigi Arena

Patent number: 6027435Abstract: A freestanding training bag includes a pedestal having a lower surface on which the pedestal rests during normal use and an upper surface spaced above the lower surface. The pedestal defines a substantially vertical axis extending through a general central region of the pedestal and has a recess in the upper surface substantially symmetrically aligned with the vertical axis and extends from the upper surface at least partially towards the lower surface. A generally vertical post has a resilient portion in the region of the lower end of the vertical post extending into the recess and supported on the pedestal at a point below the upper surface. The post is normally substantially vertically aligned with the vertical axis prior to being struck by the user. A striking pad surrounds the post for being struck by the user. The recess serves as a limit stop to prevent excessive deflection of the post from the vertical deflection before the post bounces back after being struck by the user.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1998Date of Patent: February 22, 2000Assignee: Everlast World's Boxing HeadquartersInventors: Benjamin Nadorf, Alan Weck, William Bambrough
