  • Patent number: 5742332
Abstract: The invention tracks an observer's viewing-position correctly. The viewing-position is subject to shifting swiftly in a viewing-position tracking stereoscopic-display having a time delay of the viewing-position tracking from movement of the observer's viewing-position. A viewing-position tracking stereoscopic-display includes a viewing-position sensor, first and second order differentiators for differentiating positional information of the observer's viewing-position. Gain multipliers multiply the outputs of the differentiators. Band pass filters filter the outputs of the gain multipliers. A viewing-position tracker is driven by a viewing-position tracker driver according to the positional information compensated by adding the outputs of the band pass filters.

  • Patent number: 5740938
Abstract: A child resistant box including a receptacle and an associated cover which form an enclosure for blister-packs, pills, medication or other small articles. The box includes latches located around the perimeter of the box to hold it closed. The latches can only be disengaged by applying pressure to all the latches simultaneously. In addition, the latches are spaced from each other so that two hands are required to simultaneously activate the latches. Openings are advantageously placed near the latches to allow the user to exert inward pressure on the walls of the box, which pressure acts to disengage the latches. In an alternative embodiment, the bottom wall of the box has a plurality of holes sized and spaced to conform to the size and spacing of blister-pack compartments so that the blister-pack contents can be dispensed through the holes.

  • Patent number: 5740262
Abstract: An arrangement for noise removal according to the present invention includes a microphone and an acoustic high-pass filter positioned in front of the microphone and consisting of the combination of an acoustic resistance, an acoustic compliance and an inertance. According to the invention, the acoustic resistance is composed of nonwoven fabric; the acoustic compliance, of a cavity; and the inertance, of a thin cavity connected to said cavity. This acoustic high-pass filter reduces unpleasant noise which arises from the microphone when a low-frequency high-pressure air stream, such as the speaker's breath, hits the mouthpiece of the telephone.

  • Patent number: 5738545
Abstract: In a connection device for connecting a flat cable with a connection object, a first connector is provided with a pressing member movably connected to a first insulator. The pressing member and the first insulator are covered with a first and a second conductive shell, respectively. The second conductive shell is brought into contact with a supplementary pattern of the flat cable and with the first conductive shell when the pressing member presses a flat cable with being moved. A second connector is provided with a third conductive shell for being connected to a supplementary pattern of the connection object. The third conductive shell is brought into contact with the first conductive shell when the first and the second connectors are connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 5740099
Abstract: A semiconductor dynamic random access memory device has a memory cell array fabricated on a silicon-on-insulator region and peripheral and interface circuits fabricated on a bulk region; even if the circuit components of the peripheral circuit are increased together with the memory cells, the bulk region effectively radiates the heat generated by the peripheral and interface circuits, thereby preventing the memory cells from a temperature rise.

  • Patent number: 5735709
Abstract: In a zero insertion force connector for flexible circuit boards, there are a housing, plural flexible circuit boards in multiple rows, an insulator holding the flexible circuit boards and displaceable in perpendicular to the flexible circuit boards in the housing, a counterpart insulator having plural pairs of broader counterpart contacts than thickness of the flexible circuit boards, and a driving member for displacing the insulator so as to incline the flexible circuit boards. When the driving member is operated, the insulator presses the flexible circuit boards. Then the flexible circuit boards incline, and connect the counterpart contacts respectively.

  • Patent number: 5736075
Abstract: A method of molding, from porous material, a low-density product having an impermeable surface. A mold is provided, which has a cavity, the outline of which defines the outline of the product. The starting material is a flat sheet of plastic foam. The first step of the process, in some cases, is a pre-heating procedure, which softens the material. Then, from this sheet there is stamped a blank having substantially the outline of the desired product, which is then inserted into the mold cavity. The mold is then heated with the blank therein to form the blank permanently into the desired product, after which the mold is quenched in cold water with the product still inside. The product is subsequently removed from the mold and frozen. The result of this molding method is a low-density product having an impermeable surface integral with the foam interior which is suitable for receiving various types of brightly colored finished.

  • Patent number: 5734126
Abstract: We provide a twisted pair cable which is exceptionally suitable for high frequency signal transmission. One embodiment provides a twisted pair cable having a center-to-center conductor spacing at any point along a 1000 ft. cable that varies .+-.0.03 times the average of the center-to-center conductor. Another embodiment provides a twisted pair cable having an impedance of 90 to 110 ohms with a tolerance of .+-.5% of an average impedance. The preferred twisted pair cable has their dielectrics joined along the entire length thereof. Preferably, the two adjoined insulated conductors have an adhesion strength of between 0.1 to 5 lbs. force and preferably 0.25 to 2.5 lbs. force.

  • Patent number: 5733200
Abstract: A practice putting green assembly has a strip of artificial grass supported on an articulated multi-sectional frame. A plurality of motor/lift arm combinations can selectively raise or lower individual hinge points between the frame sections. A programmable circuit such as a microprocessor, is able to store a repertoire of programs of different movements responsive to the individual motor/lift arm combinations. This way, a series of topographies of the artificial grass strip may be selected by a player from a plug-in console connected to the programmable circuit. Putted balls are returned to a player over the grass surface by automatically inclining the target end of the grass strip toward the player, causing a pendulum controlled cup to empty and any balls on the grass surface to roll under gravity back to the player.

  • Patent number: 5734694
Abstract: A universal radiographic apparatus that allows an operator to select between conventional radiographic mode and linear tomographic mode. In conventional radiographic mode of operation, several automatic modes are provided. An x-ray tube mounted to a tube crane positioned above an elevating table can be accurately controlled in longitudinal and vertical movement, as well as in x-ray tube angulation. In linear tomographic mode, a table bucky is moved laterally in opposition to movement of the tube crane, with angulation keeping the tube aimed at the bucky. In conventional radiographic mode, the system supports an auto bucky mode, where the table bucky automatically tracks tubecrane motion, or an auto table mode, where the tube crane tracks table vertical motion to maintain a fixed SID. In an auto wall mode, the tube crane tracks vertical movement of an associated wall bucky.

  • Patent number: 5730937
Abstract: A polymer processing system has a polymer input and an electrolyte input which may be varied independently of each other. The polymer and electrolyte are combined and mixed to provide an out flowing solution which flows through a sensor cell that gives an output signal indicating the concentration of polymer in the solution leaving the processing system. The user repeatedly and incrementally sets the inflows of polymer and electrolyte to provide a preselected variety of concentrations of polymer in the out flowing solution. On each incremental setting, a memory stores information relating the concentration to the output signal. Thereafter, the processing system automatically maintains any desired polymer concentration in joint response to the output signal and the stored information.
