  • Patent number: 4589216
Abstract: A sole element (1) for a shoe, intended primarily for use when playing darts, includes a heel part which is thinner than the sole part. A raised bar (5) of generally arcuate shape is provided in that area of the sole part which underlies the base of the wearer's toes. The outer edge (3,4) of the sole element is preferably chamferred outwardly from its uppermost surface along each side of the sole element so that the floor contacting surface has a greater area than the upper surface. The chamfer angle is greater at the front of the sole element, generally forward of the raised bar (5), than at the rear.

  • Patent number: 4585042
Abstract: A log debarker having a frame, a stator supported by the frame, a rotor journaled in the stator for rotation about a longitudinal axis of the rotor, a rotating mechanism for rotating the rotor about the longitudinal axis, a plurality of debarking tools attached to the rotor, and a feeding system for feeding logs axially through the rotor. The feeding system includes a plurality of log gripping rollers positioned for rolling contact with the log, and individual hydraulic motors are operatively connected to the log gripping roller for rotating the log gripping roller. Each of the hydraulic motors is adapted to rotate its log gripping roller at different and variable rotation speeds to accommodate logs of uneven surfaces. A hydraulic fluid supply system supplies each of the hydraulic motors with fluid so that the different and variable hydraulic fluid requirements of each of the hydraulic motors necessitated by uneven log surfaces are satisfied.

  • Patent number: 4579301
Abstract: A pilot module for a lightweight aircraft having a fuselage primary structure that includes a longitudinally disposed support structure, or boom and also having a wing structure attached to the fuselage primary structure, a tail structure attached aft of the wing structure to the fuselage primary structure, and a propeller assembly attached to the fuselage primary structure. The pilot module includes a pilot support shell constructed of a composite material formed to support the seat, legs, and back of a pilot positioned on it and forming an integral part of the fuselage primary structure. The pilot support shell is positioned at least partially forward of the forward end of the boom. At least one reinforcing member is connected to the pilot support shell and to the boom and is constructed in a single piece with the support shell. The reinforcing member also forms an integral part of the fuselage primary structure. An external fairing is positioned behind and attached to the pilot support shell.

  • Patent number: 4577364
Abstract: A floor cleaning machine including a support frame with a handle attached to the upper end of the support frame for guiding the machine along the floor and a wheel assembly attached to the lower end. A plurality of disc-shaped floor cleaning pads disposed and held adjacent one another such that a floor pad cylinder having a horizontally-disposed longitudinal axis is formed are attached to the lower end of the frame. A motor supported by the frame rotates the floor pads about the axis on the floor in a vertical cleaning motion. A spraying system sprays cleaning fluid downward towards the floor and forward of the rotating cleaning pads. The dirtied cleaning fluid is then sucked up through a nozzle positioned behind the floor pad cylinder to a vacuum and holding tank assembly mounted on the frame.
