    Abstract: A ball target assembly into which a rolling ball is directed and the associated method of playing a game using the ball target assembly. The ball target assembly has a base section wherein at least one ramp extends from the base section. A cup is disposed in the top surface of the base section. The ramp provides a surface upon which a rolling ball approaching the base section can roll to reach the cup. A flag indicator is provided that is selectively positionable between a down position and a raised position. The position of the flag indicator is controlled by an activation mechanism. The activation mechanism moves the flag indicator from its down position to its raised position when a ball is received in the cup. As such, when a ball rolls into the cup, the flag indicator automatically is raised.

    Abstract: A novelty bar of soap containing an electro-mechanical vibrating mechanism. Within a housing is disposed an electric motor that rotates a weight from an eccentric point. Two reed switches are connected in parallel within the housing. Two alkaline batteries are also provided in the housing. The reed switches selectively power the electric motor with the batteries when at least one of the reed switches is closed. A body of soap surrounds the housing forming a bar of soap. Within the housing, one of the reed switches is disposed proximate the top of the housing. The other reed switch is disposed proximate the bottom of the housing. As such, regardless of how the bar of soap is oriented when placed down, one of the reed switches is positioned near the surface or which the bar of soap is resting.

    Abstract: A toy assembly and its associated method of play. The toy assembly includes a hub. Two holes are disposed in the hub through which a loop of string is passed. By winding the string and then pulling the string taut, the string can be caused to rapidly unwind, thus rotating the hub. A removable housing is connected to the hub. The housing has a release mechanism. When the release mechanism is engaged, the housing disengages from the hub. Two players face each other and utilize their toy assemblies to cause their hubs and surrounding housings to turn. The turning housings are then brought to battle by creating contact between the spinning housings. If one housing contacts the release mechanism on another housing, the housing on the contacted toy will separate from the hub and become disabled.

The rotating device has a housing with a base upon which the housing spins. An electric motor is contained within the housing that causes the housing to spin when the motor is activated. The contacts are worn on opposing fingers and come into contact with the rotating device when the base of the rotation device is supported with the opposing fingers, when contacting the rotating device, the contacts on the opposing fingers provide electricity to the rotating device that powers the motor within the rotating device.

    Abstract: A system, device and method are claimed for installing electrical switches and electrical plug connectors in a wall, without the use of junction boxes. The system uses prefabricated switch assemblies and/or receptacle assemblies. These assemblies contain either a switch or a receptacle that is manufactured into a housing. On the rear of the housing are one or two protrusions. Wire connector ports are disposed within the areas defined by the protrusions. The wire connector ports are coupled to either the switch or receptacle within the housing. To install an assembly, at least one hole is drilled into a wall and a cable run through the hole. The wires from the cable are stripped and inserted into the wire connector ports within the protrusion on the rear of the assembly. The protrusion is then inserted into the hole in the wall and the assembly is mounted flush on the face of the wall.

    Abstract: A sound effect assembly that attaches to the net of a goal. The sound effect device contains a sensor that either detects the motion of the net or the passing of the ball or puck. When the sound effect assembly is activated, the sound effect device generates audible sounds, preferably that of a cheering crowd. Accordingly, each time a goal is made, the sound effect device produces the sounds of a cheering crowd. The sound effect device is produced in a very small housing that hooks onto the net of a goal. In this manner, the attachment of the sound effect device to the net does not adversely effect the characteristics of the net or the odds of making a goal by a person playing the sport.

    Abstract: A system and method for conditioning a power transmission, thereby eliminating adverse characteristics from the power transmission. The system selectively includes a voltage surge protector, an EMI/RFI filter and at least one inrush current suppressor integrally formed into a single system. To condition an incoming power transmission, the power transmission is passed through the voltage surge protector to eliminate any abnormal voltage spikes. The power transmission is then passed through an improved EMI/RFI filter having a dual output. The outputs of the EMI/RFI filter lead into a first inrush current suppressor. The inrush current suppressor limits the amperage of the power transmission for a predetermined period of time and then permits unrestricted current flow.

    Abstract: An assembly for holding a self-powered hedge cutter at a selected height and orientation so that a hedgerow can be more readily and consistently trimmed. The assembly includes a wheeled base that is filled with a weighted material. A vertical support extends upwardly from the base. A support bracket is provided that is free to move up and down along the length of the vertical support. A push handle also extends from the base. The push handle enables a person to readily push the wheeled base to a desired location. Controls are attached to the push handle. One control adjusts the height of the support bracket on the vertical support. The other control is a throttle control that can be selectively attached to the hedge cutter. A self-powered commercial hedge cutter is temporarily mounted to the support bracket. The hedge cutter can be mounted to the support bracket in a plurality of orientations. The hedge cutter can then be rolled along a hedgerow to trim that hedgerow.

In the vending machine system, customers are provided with identification cards having statistical information regarding the age of the card owner. Also contained on the card is data corresponding to a biometric characteristic of the card owner. Vending machines are provided that contain card readers and biometric characteristic verifiers. When a customer wants to use the vending machine, that customer inserts their identification card into the vending machine. That customer also subjects themselves to a biometric scan from the biometric characteristic verifier contained within the vending machine. The vending machine reads both the statistical age information from the identification card and the biometric characteristic data. A systems processor in the vending machine compares the biometric characteristic data on the identification card with the biometric characteristic data just gathered.

A portable holding cage is provided with a door that can be locked in a closed position by an electromechanical locking mechanism. The transmitted alarm signals can be audible alarm signals, radio alarm signals or optical alarm signals. Once the alarm signal is received and identified by the systems controller, the systems controller activates the electromechanical locking mechanism and opens the door to the holding cage.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for selectively adjusting the hanging length of a piece of chain jewelry. A clasp casing is provided that receives the clasp ends of a piece of chain jewelry. Within the clasp casing is a matrix of posts. The clasp ends of the jewelry chain are fed into the casing and attached to separate posts. If attached to posts near the ends of the casing, the hanging length of the jewelry chain can be increased because the casing adds length to the jewelry chain. By wrapping the jewelry chain around the posts inside the casing, the hanging length of the jewelry chain can be dramatically shortened.

    Abstract: A system and method is claimed for protecting sections of a buried utility pipe that will eventually be excavated and exposed for tapping purposes. The system includes a protective collar that is applied to the utility pipe before the utility pipe is buried. When the utility pipe is to be tapped, the utility pipe is excavated directly above the protective collar. The presence of the protective collar provides a physical barrier that prevents the utility pipe from being damaged from the excavating equipment. When the protective collar is removed, a clean, unobstructed area of utility pipe is exposed on which a tapping procedure can be performed.

The system includes rail elements that are applied to the inclined surface on either side of an opening that has been cut through the inclined surface. The rail elements create tracks along the sides of the opening. A dormer structure is provided. The dormer structure has walls and a top surface that spans the walls to define an interior space within the dormer structure. However, the dormer structure has no bottom surface, and is thus open at its bottom. One of the walls of the dormer structure supports a door. The dormer surface can be placed in the tracks created by the rail elements. The tracks retain the dormer structure in place over the opening in the inclined surface. The dormer structure protects the opening in the inclined surface and provides access to the opening through the door in the wall of the dormer structure.

The electronic toll payment pass is connected to the back surface of the mounting structure in a manner that allows the electronic toll payment pass to be easily installed and removed by the driver of the vehicle. When the electronic toll payment pass is attached to the mounting structure, the mounting structure is interposed between the glass of the windshield and the electronic toll payment pass. The mounting structure preferably contains a display image. The display image is visible through the glass of the windshield and obstructs the viewing of the electronic toll payment pass.

Consequently, the height at which the neck element supports the secondary handlebar over the steering post can be selectively adjusted. Furthermore, at least one pivot adjustment is disposed between the steering post and the secondary handlebar. The pivot adjustment enables the secondary handlebar to be selectively adjusted along an arcuate path. As a result, the secondary handlebar can be adjusted both height and position in order to match the ergonomic needs of a particular rider.

The inserts fit into the arbor mounting hole. Each of the inserts defines an aperture for receiving a drive arbor of a different configuration. The apertures are off-set in the inserts, to compensate for the off-set arbor mounting hole, so that the apertures are disposed at the geometric center of the blade when any insert is placed in the arbor mounting hole.
