  • Patent number: 7431581
Abstract: A retaining device for an injection mold is disclosed. The retaining device has a device body which has a top surface and a bottom surface. A live bearing is mounted in the device body such that a portion of the live bearing extends above a top surface of the device body. The device is secured such that the live bearing supports movement of a first portion of the injection mold. A shoulder surface is formed where a body head portion interfaces with a body base portion. A spring is disposed around the body base portion such that a spring top is in communication with the shoulder surface, and a spring bottom extends below the bottom surface of the device body. The spring creates a “pre-load” force that will hold the slide in place. Optional washers can be added to the device to adjust the “pre-load.

  • Patent number: 7324559
Abstract: This invention synchronizes the sample clocks of an entire wireless network from a single central base station. Unlike a conventional digital radio network where every terminal must have a synchronization circuit in its receiver to adjust the sample clock, each of the radio terminals in this network is clocked from an independent free-running oscillator. For each terminal, the base station learns the frequency and phase of the oscillator by exchanging a special set of signals: first a vernier signal to determine the initial time and frequency offset, and then an early-late signal to track changes in the oscillator. Once the base station is synchronized to the terminal's oscillator, it can determine the absolute path delay between itself and the terminal and correct for the delay using an equalizer. Signals received from the terminal are corrected after the signal arrives at the base station.

  • Patent number: 7316257
Abstract: A portable screen assembly which is easily assembled and highly compact when disassembled is provided. The assembly includes a collapsible base having at least three leg members and a central support pole. The assembly includes top and bottom frame members in parallel relation supported via the central support pole supporting a screen. The screen is held in place with the frame members via flaps, sleeves, or hooks and eyelets, and is completely removable and preferably wrinkle resistant. Side supports are optionally included to provide additional support for the top and bottom frame members. The frame members and side supports are optionally telescoping members or frictionally fitting or threaded separable members. The top portion of the central support pole preferably includes a top cap which is part of a mounting mechanism for mounting the top frame member. In the preferred embodiment, the mounting mechanism allows for keystoning of the screen.

  • Patent number: 7311721
Abstract: A pacifier assembly having a pivotally mounted cover on a shield assembly is disclosed. The assembly allows convenient protection for the nipple by being selectably moved between an open and closed position. In one embodiment, two nipples are provided on opposite sides of the shield assembly. The cover can be positioned to protect one nipple while exposing the other. Once the assembly is dropped to the floor and the sanitary condition of the exposed nipple is compromised, the cover can be moved to cover the dirtied nipple and expose the unused nipple. In another embodiment, the dual nipple pacifier includes two covers. Thus, the covers can protect both nipples simultaneously for transporting the assembly in a sanitary manner. One nipple can be exposed by pivoting one of the covers. Preferably, the covers nest within one another over the protected nipple.

  • Patent number: 7257553
Abstract: A process that arranges information warehoused at individual accounting and tax preparation firms at a central location for the purpose of marketing information. Data contained at these firms have qualitative and quantitative characteristics that are different from data archived at the Internal Revenue Service or other tax authorities. This fact makes the data valuable as data in two ways. First the data can be exchanged to provide new revenue streams. Secondly, these data, if grouped into data warehouses of other firms, has value as pure data, not just customer lists. These data may be sold or rented creating additional revenue streams for their originators. The purchasers of this bulk data are interested in using this data in the field of data mining. Data mining is a technique of analyzing vast amounts of information to uncover relationships to predict events and has wide application in many areas of the economy.

  • Patent number: 7121935
Abstract: A blade sharpener (10) comprises sharpening strip providing carriers (12) and (14) each including an obliquely extending linear sharpening strip providing rod (16) and carrier movement non-interference guiding means in the form of a slot defining formation formed by facing rail pairs (18), (20) facing one another across a slot (22). The rail pairs (18) and (20) form part of a carrier support frame (24) to which the carriers (12), (14) are mounted to be displaced in diametrically opposed directions and along the spacings formed between the rails of the rail pairs (18), (20). A crossover point (28) is defined between the rods (16) within which the cutting edge of the blade of a knife is in an abrasion fashion moved during a sharpening action. The crossover point (28) is constrained to move along a linear sharpening path extending along the slot (22) during sharpener use.
