  • Patent number: 8253001
Abstract: A structure of drum with multiple uses allows of being switched among multiple uses. The drum includes a shell which receives therein a slidable base board that carries thereon a multi-layered stack of cushioning pads and a detection sound collection board. The base board has opposite sides that are supported by slidable rod seats coupled to adjustable threaded rod, so that through rotation and adjustment of the threaded rods, upward movement of the base board is achieved to have the cushioning pad in contact engagement with a drum skin that reduces the sound generated by the drum so that the drum may serve as a practicing drum. Alternatively, the sound collection board is electrically connected to the electronic speaker, so that through controlled realized with a detection circuit board, an electronic drum is formed. For regular performance, the base board is separated from the skin to provide a regular drum.

  • Patent number: 8253798
Abstract: The video surveillance device with infrared LEDs has a casing and utilizes a partition element within the casing to place a camera assembly behind the partition element and the infrared LEDs in indentations on a front side of the partition element. A protective lens is interfaced directly with a washer on the front side of the partition element. As such, the light interference by the lens is effectively improved, while the external impact is buffered and absorbed largely by the washer, not directly on the camera assembly. In addition, the camera assembly is mounted on a downwardly concaved platform so that the camera assembly is able to slide along the curvature of the platform to aim at a specific direction. On the other hand, the LEDs are mounted on slant aluminum bases so that they could be aimed at different directions from that of the camera assembly.

  • Patent number: 8245686
Abstract: This invention discloses a non-crankshaft engine which includes the body, the cylinder head on top of the body, and the cylinder inside it. A piston intersecting with one end of a connecting rod is set in the cylinder. In the middle of the chassis where the engine body is set on, there is the basic shaft which intersects with one or more crossbars perpendicularly in way of either fixed joint or swing joint. On the crossbar is installed symmetrically on either side of the axis of the basic shaft a fixing set. It connects with the other end of the connecting rod through a swing joint. Every fixing set is joined by one or two connecting rods linked with the piston. The above structure of basic shaft, crossbar and connecting rod will result in strong explosion pressure that can produce great moment of force, and thus give the utmost work. Therefore, this invention has the advantages of high working efficiency, low energy-consumption, and is expected to produce minimum environmental pollution.

  • Patent number: 8240313
Abstract: Disclosed is a physiological approach of a penile venous stripping surgical procedure for patients with erectile dysfunction (ED), which mainly contains a revolutionary surgical solution of treating leakage veins for restoring erectile function based on a template of penile tunical and venous anatomy. The method entails a thorough penile venous stripping and then being ligated of one deep dorsal vein and a pair of cavernosal veins whereas two pairs of para-arterial veins are rendered for segmental ligation rather than being stripped closest to the tunica albuginea by using a set of specific instruments under an acupuncture-aided local anesthesia on an ambulatory basis. Although the techniques for handling venous tissues with stripping and then ligation is extraordinarily challenging, this innovative method turns the venous treatment for ED from one that has been abandoned to a curable option.

  • Patent number: 8225635
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for making a bicycle pedal, comprising the following steps: (A) cutting, in which an elongate metal plate is formed by pressing and two coupling holes are formed through the plate; (B) bending, in which the metal plate is bent to have the opposite ends jointed to each other, forming a circumferentially enclosed hollow pedal frame with the two coupling holes concentrically located and spaced from and opposing each other; and (C) welding, in which a collar is mounted outside the pedal frame concentric with respect to each of the coupling holes through welding to provide a sufficient contact area for rotatably receiving and supporting a spindle therein, whereby the pedal frame is rotatable about the spindle for pedaling operation of a bicycle. This method overcomes the various drawbacks occurring in metal-cast or plastic injection-molded bicycle pedals, providing economic advantages for high-mix low-volume productions.

  • Patent number: 8226128
Abstract: A releasable nut-free C-clip secured pipe fitting includes a pipe to be jointed, a C-clip, a sealing ring, and a pipe fitting. The pipe has a jointed end forming a circumferential groove for receiving the C-clip. The C-clip is a ring like member having an opening, which allows for expansion and contraction of the C-clip so as to allow the C-clip to be disposed in a converging surface formed on an inside wall of the pipe fitting. The sealing ring is received in a sealing ring groove defined in the inside wall of the pipe fitting. The pipe fitting has a tube end forming a holding bore having an inside diameter smaller than a diameter of the converging surface. The tube end of the pipe fitting forms openings through which a tool can extend into the pipe fitting to contract the C-clip for releasing the C-clip and the pipe.
