Patent number: 5394029Abstract: The Geomagnetic Orientation Sensor is a device used to determine the orientation of objects with respect to the magnetic field surrounding the earth. The sensor may also be used to determine orientation with respect to a local magnetic field, a local attenuation of the earth's magnetic field, or used as a pointer to track moving magnetic potentials. The device incorporates three mutually orthogonal Hall effect generator pairs, the output voltage differentials of which are directly proportional to the magnetic field intensity and direction relative to each generator pair. A set of three differential amplifier circuits detect and amplify the small voltages induced by the geomagnetic field. The resulting voltages, V.sub.X, V.sub.Y, and V.sub.Z, are multiplied by a constant to acquire three orthogonal angular displacement values with a range of 0 degrees to 180 degrees.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1993Date of Patent: February 28, 1995Inventors: John C. Patent number: 4394888Abstract: Extendable bridging bar frame members are pivotally mounted to an angularly adjustable loading platform level of a bi-elevational platform lift apparatus. The bridging bar frame members are selectively extendable to engage an associated dock side loading surface in order to suspend a free end non-attached portion of the loading platform at dock side level while the opposite end portion of the loading platform is adjusted for alignment with a vertically offset dock side. This will allow angular adjustment of the loading platform level while still utilizing the mechanical support of the bridging bar frame members.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1981Date of Patent: July 26, 1983Assignee: Advance Lifts, Inc.Inventor: David E. Patent number: 4295060Abstract: A solid state electronic triggering circuit is provided having a light sensitive circuit for sensing the occurrence of light interruption events, and employing a plurality of integrated circuits interconnected in a monostable switching mode, each to provide an output pulse signal for a predetermined time period determined by an RC charging circuit. An RC time delay circuit is serially connected with the monostable circuits to provide a predetermined time delay between light interruption and the output of a triggering signal from a final stage monostable circuit. An initial monostable circuit is used to register the light interruption event, and the final monostable circuit is used to provide a short duration triggering pulse suitable to trigger an SCR load gate. An additional monostable circuit is employed as an inhibitor circuit imposed on the initial monostable circuit to prevent registration of a light interruption event during any occurrence of power supply interruption.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1979Date of Patent: October 13, 1981Inventor: Richard S.
