Abstract: A video signal processing circuit includes a level shifter for shifting the dc level of an input luminance signal; a gain adjuster for increasing the gain for the luminance signal when the luminance signal has a low luminance level and for decreasing the gain for the luminance signal when the luminance signal has a high luminance level; and a shifting amount setting unit for setting the amount for shifting the dc level on the basis of the frequency distribution of the luminance signal and the rate of modulation of the luminance signal.
Abstract: A video image data decoding apparatus includes a pair of buffer memories for storing decoded intra coded picture data or forward prediction coded picture data, a switch circuit for selecting either the decoded intra coded picture data or forward prediction coded picture data to be sequentially stored in the pair of buffer memories, and a generating circuit utilizing picture data stored in one of the pair of buffer memories for generating picture data to be stored into another buffer memory and also utilizing picture data stored in one buffer memory for generating picture data to be newly stored again into the same buffer memory. The generating circuit performs motion compensation by utilizing picture data stored in one buffer memory for generating picture data to be stored into another buffer memory.
Abstract: An infrared data transmission and reception system capable of avoiding adverse effects due to infrared external noises includes a data transmitting circuit and a data receiving circuit of which the former is so constructed as to add a signal-free region of a predetermined length or a trailer to the terminating end of each of the frames of a data bit pulse train and the latter is so constructed as to discriminate between transmitted data and external noise by detecting whether or not the region corresponding to the trailer is signal-free with respect to a detected output, whereby a proper encoding output is generated on the basis of the discrimination.
Abstract: A signal processing device for performing a predetermined signal processing includes a first storage unit for storing a plurality of frames of information signals, a second storage unit for storing a plurality of data representing a plurality of signal processing programs, and a signal processing unit for performing signal processing on signals read from the first storage unit on the basis of the data representing the signal processing program read out from the second storage unit. The signal processing unit performs signal processing on all of the plural frames of signals stored in the first storage unit and causes the processed frames of signals to be re-stored in the first storage unit. The signal processing unit then performs signal processing on all of the plural frames of signals stored in the first storage unit on the basis of the second signal processing program read out from the second storage unit.
Abstract: A television channel selection apparatus for use with a television receiver having a number of available television channels. The television channel selection apparatus includes a pushbutton pad having a first pushbutton and a group of second pushbuttons. A television channel list is displayed on the television channel when the first pushbutton is depressed. The television channel list includes channel numbers listed in relation to the respective television channels. One of the second pushbuttons is selectively depressed to specify the corresponding channel number and thus to select the corresponding television channel.
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus includes a helical scan VTR. Binary data of a received facsimile signal is recorded on a first area of a recording medium in the VTR, and also the received facsimile signal is converted into a television signal and then recorded on a second area of the recording medium so that the recorded facsimile signal can be viewed as a video image on a screen of a TV monitor and further the recorded facsimile signal can be searched on the screen through a high-speed search.
Abstract: An image information processing apparatus includes a detector for detecting the move vector of an image of the present relative to that of the preceding field; a circuit for processing, on the basis of the move vector, the image of the present field stored in a field memory; and a residual memory for storing the residual information calculated during the period in which the image data of one horizontal scanning line is inputted. The residual information stored in the residual memory is shunted into a blank area of the field memory during a predetermined interval after the period in which the image data is input. The processing circuit performs a wobble correction to correct any shaking of the image between fields or compresses the data quantity of the dynamic image in image transmission, and the information of one entire picture is processed after being divided into a plurality of blocks, whereby the storage capacity of the residual memory can be widely reduced.
Abstract: In a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus, an audio signal and a video signal are assigned to first and a second channels of an ordinary magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus in respectively, and recorded at a transmission rate twice that of the usual rate, so that it is possible to record an audio signal without tone quality degradation to record a video signal together with the audio signal.
Abstract: A receiver apparatus detects a received level from an AGC voltage relative to a received signal. For measuring the received level (a level outputted from an antenna), noise levels at predetermined frequencies higher and lower than the broadcast frequency band and a received signal level upon receiving a broadcast at an arbitrary channel are measured, and a received level corresponding to C/N at the received channel is calculated from the three measured values, thereby eliminating received level calculation differences among channels occurring when the received level is calculated on the basis of the AGC voltage.
