Abstract: Principles of exercise machine construction, an exercise machine, components of an exercise machine, and methods related to exercising on or constructing an exercise machine that allows for the performance of multiple different exercises, where the user utilizes related arcs of an arm with a fixed path of motion for the different exercises. Generally the arcs will be utilized for both pull-type exercises and push-type exercises and/or for diverging and converging exercises.
Abstract: A method for measuring radio interference levels in a specific frequency range. Said method consists in adjusting the frequency range by means of a pre-measurement; respectively detecting, for each measuring frequency one measuring level of the signal which is to be measured; comparing the measured measuring level to the threshold value, characterized in that when the threshold value of the measuring level is exceeded, the measured level is compared to the respective measuring frequency as a radio interference level; and measuring, in a post-measurement phase, each characterized radio interference level in a more precise manner and in relation to the runtime performance thereof.

Abstract: A cursor mode display system and method for indicating an offset distance between a cursor position on an image and a closest image slice in a corresponding image series. First, the three-dimensional coordinates associated with the cursor position on the image are determined by projecting the cursor position onto a three-dimensional patient coordinate system. The closest image slice is then identified as the image slice in the corresponding image series that is closest to the three-dimensional coordinates of the cursor position. The offset distance between the closest image slice and the three-dimensional coordinates associated with the cursor position is then calculated. If the offset distance does not exceed a threshold value, then the closest image slice is displayed. Otherwise a modified version of the closest image slice is displayed.

Abstract: A supraglottic airway of the type used to facilitate lung ventilation and the insertion of endo-tracheal tubes or related medical instruments through a patient's laryngeal opening where the shield is constructed of a generally single-use blow-molded structure.
Abstract: A system and method for navigating an image series, the image series containing a number of substantially aligned planar images. First, the images of the image the image series are grouped into a number of subseries, the number of subseries being less than the number of substantially aligned planar images in the image series. A representative image series is generated by generating an image from each subseries. The representative image series is displayed. It is determined whether an image from the representative image series has been selected. If an image from the representative image series has been selected, then the subseries associated with the selected image is displayed.

Abstract: A valve system for collection and removal of condensation from a gas-pressurized fluid system. In one embodiment a single valve is used, having inlet, outlet and condensate collection ports and a valve body capable of movement between a position which connects the inlet port to the condensate collection port and a position which connects the condensate collection port to the outlet port. The valve is formed such that the inlet port is not connected to the outlet port while the valve is moved between the two positions, so that the pressurized system is not depressurized. A second embodiment uses two coupled valves replacing the single valve.
Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods which use the solenoid itself to sense the position of the armature within the solenoid, and therefore to determine the position of the solenoid's armature, and or any related devices whose movement is dependent on the armature's movement. Specifically, a system in which the change in self-induction that occurs when the armature moves relative to the solenoid coil is used to detect the location of the armature.
Abstract: A portable water cooler is designed to accept the placement of bagged fluid therein, leading to the connection of the bag of fluid to a fluid flow pathway, thereby allowing the fluid to be dispensed in a manner such that the fluid is segregated from the internal surfaces of the cooler. The portable water cooler generally includes an internal spike and external spigot through which fluid may flow. Systems and methods for dispensing bagged fluid from such a cooler, including various multi-bag systems and methods allowing for improved thermal control of fluids being dispensed, as well as increased selection of fluids dispensed from the same portable water cooler provide a high level of convenience.

Abstract: A method for spectral analysis of a signal (s1(t)) in several frequency bands with different frequency resolution adapts the two spectra of the signal (s1(t)) from adjacent frequency bands relative to one another in the transitional range of the two frequency bands. The associated device contains a unit for discrete convolution (3), which implements a smoothing of the discrete power spectra (|S1(k)|2) of the discrete signal (s1(k)) from adjacent frequency bands in the transitional range of the two frequency bands.
Abstract: A mechanism for securing a handle to a head, particularly of a lacrosse stick, comprises a shaft having a wedge portion positioned at a distal end thereof, a binding plate positioned adjacent to said shaft, and a means for moving said wedge portion in a longitudinal direction relative to said binding plate. Longitudinal movement of said wedge portion causes latitudinal movement of said binding plate, thereby binding said handle to said head. Such a mechanism can be used in a method for securing and maintaining secure the joint between a handle and a head, either in a new lacrosse stick or as a retrofit.
Abstract: An analysis system, tool, and method for performing downhole fluid analysis, such as within a wellbore. The analysis system, tool, and method provide for a tool including a spectroscope for use in downhole fluid analysis which utilizes an adaptive optical element such as a Micro Mirror Array (MMA) and two distinct light channels and detectors to provide real-time scaling or normalization.

Abstract: Systems and methods for evaluating probe signal level readings in a manner that allows a low water detector to distinguish between a probe that is under a fluid level, or is above the fluid level and either being splashed or is within a foam. Low water detectors which utilize these systems and methods are also provided. The detectors generally utilize a representative probe reading, and a dynamic indicator between probe readings, for a set of probe readings taken in a time period to detect low water levels, foam, or surge.

Abstract: A balance-to-unbalance transformer (balun) comprising a first signal input/output with two symmetrical poles, a second signal input with one pole, several first conductor loop regions, which are located between the two poles of the first signal input and the ground and a second series connection of several conductor loop regions, the first terminal of the latter being connected to the pole of the second signal input. Two second conductor loop regions are electromagnetically coupled to a respective conductor loop region. The second outer terminal of the second series connection of several second conductor loop regions is electrically connected to the intermediate terminal of a first series connection of several first conductor loop regions, which connect a symmetrical pole of the first signal input to the ground.
