Abstract: A lift dolly is provided for lifting and transporting stand-mounted power tools and the like, with little effort. The dolly includes a pair of platforms and a wheel system having at least three castors extending downwardly from the platforms. The dolly is designed such that one step onto a latching or locking mechanism by the operator causes the wheel system to be forced downward relative to the stand thereby slightly lifting the power tool and stand off of the ground and enabling transport of same via the castors. Another step on the locking or latching mechanism disengages the wheel system and permits gravity to return the stand and tool firmly to the ground for use.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods, apparatus and kits for synthesizing assembled peptides and proteins on a solid phase with sequential ligation of three or more unprotected peptide segments using chemoselective and mild ligation chemistries in aqueous solution. Also provided are methods of monitoring solid phase sequential ligation reactions using MALDI or electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of reaction products.

Abstract: A manifold for, e.g. a motor vehicle heat exchanger, has a first part formed from a shaped metal sheet and bottom and two lateral walls folded face-to-face, at least one of which is provided with an aperture for fixing a pipe there. A second part is shaped metal sheet and able to be fitted onto the lateral walls of the first part to form a cover opposite the bottom of this first part. Either the first part or the second part has a manifold plate. The first part, the second part and the pipe are assembled by brazing.

Abstract: A self-centering ball and socket joint for connecting parts requiring restricted angular movement in a pre-established direction, and free rotary movement in a corresponding direction. The joint is comprised of a spherical pin (01) with an encased end, and an opposite exposed end. The encased end of the spherical pin (01) is comprised of first (09) and second (10) hemispheres, disposed within a bearing assembly (02, 03). The first hemisphere has a relatively larger diameter (09), than the second hemisphere (10). The hemispheres (09, 10) interact with the bearing assembly (02, 03) to continuously urge the spherical pin (01) to return to a pre-determined position. Although the invention has broad potential applicability, its primary uses are in motor vehicle tie rod steering and suspension systems.
Abstract: An improved spray delivery system and method for aerosol containers is provided. The system and method provide improved selectable spray pattern characteristics. In addition, the system is provided with multiple automatic features to prevent unintended actuation of the aerosol container as well as an override system to selectively disable these characteristics and automatically return the device to a safety position without requiring the user to see the device.

Abstract: A ball and socket joint assembly having a cylindrical sealing cap (1) housing (6, 6A) connected to the external case (4) of the joint assembly. The housing (6, 6A) may be comprised of plastic, aluminum, rubber, or other malleable material. The housing (6, 6A) has a ring shape, with a groove molded into the housing's external surface for receiving the larger diameter end of a sealing cap (1), the smaller diameter end of the sealing cap (1) is directly attached to the shaft of the ball and socket joint's spherical pin (2). The preferred embodiment of the housing (6) has a general “L” shape, and an alternative embodiment (6A) has a more linear shape. The sealing cap (1) ensures that the ball and socket are not contaminated during operation of the joint assembly. The ball and socket joint of the invention is primarily designed for motor vehicle applications, specifically, in automotive steering and suspension systems.
Abstract: A transfer belt for a paper machine has a substrate and a coating on at least one flat side. The coating has an inner layer and an outer layer adjacent thereto. The outer layer has a porous structure having cavities open toward the outer side.
