  • Patent number: 7415758
Abstract: A device to press a rotatably supported shaft of a rotor of a spindle motor for a hard disk drive into a shaft receiving portion of an associated stator housing by means of a first pressing tool acting on the rotor and a second pressing tool acting on the stator housing. A first aligning apparatus for the rotor and a second aligning apparatus for the stator housing are provided. The first and second aligning apparatuses are formed in such a way that they guide the rotor by means of a rotor carrier and the stator housing by means of a stator carrier. The rotor carrier and the stator carrier are exactly aligned with respect to each other during the pressfitting process. The first pressing tool has a first pressing element acting on the shaft of the rotor that is independent of the first aligning apparatus and the second pressing tool has a second pressing element acting on the stator housing that is independent of the second aligning apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7409297
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and systems for providing an animal with a nutraceutical program that is specifically tailored to address the deficiencies and/or needs of the particular animal. Blood is drawn from the animal and analyzed at a lab to obtain blood test results. The blood test results are scored to obtain at least one blood test score for at least one corresponding blood parameter. If the at least one blood test score falls within a normal range but outside of an optimal range, one or more nutraceuticals needed to bring the animal within the optimal range for the at least one corresponding blood parameter are identified. A prescribed dosage amount is then calculated for at least one of the one or more identified nutraceuticals for the animal. The calculation of the prescribed dosage amount is based on at least the blood test score for the corresponding blood parameter and a deviation of the blood test score from the optimal range.

  • Patent number: 7399414
Abstract: A process for oxidation of oxidizable materials which are dissolved or suspended in a liquid phase. A contactor in the form of a porous membrane is used. The contactor is designed such that an oxidizing phase flows along one surface thereof while the phase to be oxidized flows along another surface. The oxidation is catalyzed by (i) a catalyst material which constitutes the porous membrane or is deposited in or onto a porous membrane support, or (ii) a catalyst material which is supplied to one or both of the feed streams comprising the oxidizing phase and the phase to be oxidized.

  • Patent number: 7369677
Abstract: Methods for adapting the operation of a system in response to the detection of embedded watermarks from a digital host content are provided. A digital host content is received and examined for the presence of watermarks. In response to the detection of embedded watermarks and in accordance with the value, type, density or spacing of the detected watermarks, one or more system reactions may take place. These reactions include conditionally allowing the system to resume its normal operation, prohibiting the system from resuming its normal operation, degrading the quality of the digital host content or changing the security status of the digital host content. In response to the extraction of weak watermarks that do not meet the desired system requirements, the extraction operation may be modified or extended to enable the detection of strong watermarks.
