Abstract: Voltage of a utility grid is reliably and swiftly restored, which decreased due to a utility grid failure or the like, to reference voltage. A generator is connected to a utility grid. A voltage detecting section detects voltage of a utility grid. A control section determines reactive current corresponding to the voltage obtained from the voltage detecting section based on voltage current correlation information in which the voltage of the utility grid and the reactive current to be supplied to the utility grid are correlated with each other. An electric power converting section regulates the reactive current to be supplied to or absorbed from the utility grid.

Abstract: A multipurpose transducer for an appliance using water, like a washing machine, a dishwasher or a hot-water tank converts physical parameters like water temperature, cleanness and pressure in said appliance into electric signals. It is provided with a temperature transducer (TT), a turbidity transducer (TurbT) and a pressure transducer (PT), all of them being fixed on an electrically insulating mounting support (MS). The pressure transducer (PT) is made as an uncompensated strain gauge in a thick film technology. The temperature transducer (TT) made as a termistor is also manufactured in the thick film technology. The multipurpose transducer (MPT) of the invention requires less work steps to be manufactured, mounted and connected in the appliance of said type than earlier transducers.

Abstract: A cutting device feeds a web between a die roll and an anvil roll, and cuts a continuous portion of the web. The cutting device includes a continuous portion transport unit configured to hold and transport the continuous portion of the web being continuous in a moving direction of the web, and a discontinuous portion transport unit configured to hold and transport a discontinuous portion of the web being discontinuous in the moving direction of the web. The die roll includes a first large diameter portion whose outer peripheral surface is provided with a cutting blade configured to cut the continuous portion of the web. The anvil roll includes a second large diameter portion disposed to face the first large diameter portion. By the discontinuous portion transport unit, the discontinuous portion passes through between the die roll and the anvil roll without contacting the first large diameter portion and the second large diameter portion.

This invention is particularly suited to electromagnetic measuring instruments pointing in a direction close to that of the sun. Abstract: A process for the selective recovery of Mo, V, Ni, Co and Al from spent hydroprocessing catalysts includes the steps of treating the spent catalysts to recovery metals, support as well as chemicals. The process steps include deoiling, decoking, washing, dissolving, complexing agent treatment, acid treatment and solvent extraction. This process uses limited steps than conventional processes by the use of ultrasonic agitation for metal extraction and the presence of a chelating agent particularly Ethylene Diamine Tetra-Acetic Acid (EDTA). The process also discloses the compete recovery of the extracting agent EDTA with high purity for reuse.

Abstract: The embodiments of bump-on-trace (BOT) structures and their layout on a die described reduce stresses on the dielectric layer on the metal pad and on the metal traces of the BOT structures. By orienting the axes of the metal bumps away from being parallel to the metal traces, the stresses can be reduced, which can reduce the risk of delamination of the metal traces from the substrate and the dielectric layer from the metal pad. Further, the stresses of the dielectric layer on the metal pad and on the metal traces may also be reduced by orienting the axes of the metal traces toward the center of the die. As a result, the yield can be increased.

Abstract: A prayer cushion for use during Islamic ritual prayers to reduce pain and black marks on an individual's knees and ankles comprises a generally rectangular pad of hollow polyester fibers with a soft cotton layer on top of the hollow polyester fibers. The pad has a width of about 50 cm, a length of 25 to about 50 cm and an thickness of about 14 cm. The pad also defines two relatively short longitudinally extending floor engaging channels extending from a rear edge of the cushion and is adapted to receive a portion of an individual's foot therein.
