  • Patent number: 4554488
Abstract: In a deflecting yoke of an in-line type color picture tube, a pair of saturable reactors responsive to vertical deflection is connected to the horizontal deflecting coils so that horizontal deflection currents respectively flowing two horizontal deflecting coils are controlled differentially in accordance with the degree of the vertical deflection, thereby minimizing raster distortion. Each of the saturable reactors may comprise a series connection of two coils connected to the vertical deflecting coils, and another series connection of two coils connected to the horizontal deflecting coils. The first-mentioned series connection may be omitted by positioning the second-mentioned series connection so that leakage flux from the vertical deflecting coils can be picked up. The core or cores of each of the saturable reactors is magnetically biased by means of a permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 4553264
Abstract: In a double superheterodyne tuner, the first local oscillator frequency is set to a value higher than the first intermediate frequency, which is set to a value between three and five times the upper limit of the receiving frequency range. With this arrangement spurious signals of at least third or less order can be prevented from occuring in the first intermediate frequency range. The tuner comprises an input filter which attenuates interference signals whose harmonics equal a desired frequency. The second intermediate frequency may be selected such that it is obtained by subtracting the second local oscillator frequency from the first intermediate frequency which is higher than the second local oscillator frequency. As a bandpass filter for passing the first intermediate frequency may be used a coaxial dielectric filter so as to reduce interferences by undesired channel signals.

  • Patent number: 4550465
Abstract: An apparatus for picking up surface litter on the ground includes a movable main frame towed by a lightweight vehicle. A roller carriage pivotally attached to the main frame supports identical front and rear oppositely rotating tandem rollers each having ground engaging rows of resilient fingers. The rollers are driven by a ground engaging drive wheel and sprocket gear arrangement. The resilient fingers spread apart to entrap litter and mesh between the rollers to transfer litter downstream, to a main frame conveyor for containment within a trash drum. A pair of wiper blades completely dislodge litter entrapped between the roller fingers and cooperate with upper portions of each roller to define a transfer path towards the conveyor. In a second embodiment, the trash drum is pivotally secured to the main frame to control the height of the drum discharge opening. In a third embodiment, a rectangular, box-like main frame is supported by a rear panel door of a dump truck.

  • Patent number: 4550403
Abstract: A signal in HDBn code is transmitted with an auxiliary binary signal having a lower bit-rate on a digital transmission line. The HDBn code signal comprises predetermined sequences each including n+1 elements, n-1 central elements being zeros and a last element being a bipolarity violation mark. In each sequence of the HDBn code signal transmitted during each of binary elements of the auxiliary signal having a predetermined binary state, a bipolar mark in the sequence is permutated with a zero element having a predetermined rank in the sequence to derive an encoded sequence. The HDBn code signal is an information signal in the transmission line and the auxiliary signal can be a signal for remotely locating the repeater in the line from a monitoring end equipment of a monitoring system or for indicating performance factors of the repeaters, such as error rates, to the monitoring equipment.

  • Patent number: 4550338
Abstract: A detecting circuit comprises a synchronous detecting circuit (11, 12, 15 to 19, 22 and 27 to 29) and a switching transistor (35). The collector and the emitter of the transistor (35) are connected to junctions (A) and (B), respectively, of the synchronous detecting circuit. The input portion (11) of the synchronous detecting circuit is connected to receive a signal to be detected and the input portion (12) of the same is connected to receive a carrier wave. The base of the transistor (35) is connected to receive a switching signal. The synchronous detecting circuit performs a detecting operation when the switching signal assumes the low level; however, the transistor (35) is turned on when the switching signal assumes the high level so that the junctions (A) and (B) are short-circuited, whereby the synchronous detecting circuit does not perform a detecting operation. Accordingly, the detecting circuit can be switched with a simple circuit configuration.
