  • Patent number: 7328277
Abstract: Significant performance improvements can be realized in data processing systems by confining the operation of a processor within its internal register file so as to reduce the instruction count executed by the processor. Data, which is sufficiently small enough to fit within the internal register file, can be transferred into the internal register file, and execution results can be removed therefrom, using direct memory accesses that are independent of the processor, thus enabling the processor to avoid execution of load and store instructions to manipulate externally stored data. Further, the data and execution results of the processing activity are also accessed and manipulated by the processor entirely within the internal register file. The reduction in instruction count, coupled with the standardization of multiple processors and their instruction sets, enables the realization of a highly scaleable, high-performing symmetrical multi-processing system at manageable complexity and cost levels.

  • Patent number: 7327888
Abstract: A method of pattern matching for recognition of objects within an image, uses a model defined by a set of one or more model primitives representative of large scale structures of an archetype. The image is analyzed to derive at least one target primitive representative of a large scale structure of the image. A basis is derived from at least one of the target primitives, and each of the target primitives represented as invariants in the derived basis. For each target primitive, any model primitives that at least partially match the target primitive are identified. Each identified model primitive is then processed to calculate a figure of merit indicative of a degree of correspondence between the target primitive and the model primitive. In some embodiments, the figure of merit is an Orthogonal projection between the target and model primitives, which is and accumulated for each model basis.

  • Patent number: 7319791
Abstract: A method for recognizing an object in a target image using model primitives comprising an additive primitive and a subtractive primitive; weights are assigned to the additive and subtractive primitives; a target primitive is derived for the object; associations are determined between the target primitive and the model primitives; a similarity score is computed for the target primitive with respect to the model primitives; the similarity score is increased for each association between the target primitive and the additive primitive and decreased for each association between the target primitive and the subtractive primitive; the weights determine an amount by which the similarity score is increased or decreased for each of the associations.

  • Patent number: 7310342
Abstract: The system and method allow Customer Premises Equipment Network Access Devices using ATM as a datalink layer transport, to automatically determine what VC addresses are supported by the remote Network Access Concentrator end of the physical connection. A “divide and conquer” approach is used to ping as quickly as possible the most likely VPI/VCI values. The VC discovery mechanism attempts to discover active VP's and pings only VC's on these VP's. If there are no VP replies, it pings VC's to a limited VCI depth covering the entire VP range. The maximum predetermined range of VC's to ping (MAX-PING) and the physical upstream line speed determines the overall amount of time required by this procedure. Direct benefits of the proposed approach include: time and money saved by not having to customize the firmware in each NAD destined for particular Network Service Providers, and improved end-user experience by providing plug-and-play convenience out of the box.

  • Patent number: 7306851
Abstract: The invention is a patch system for repairing collapsible fuel tanks, water tanks, inflatable boats, and other articles fabricated from a flexible structural fabric coated with a polymer. The coated structural fabric is made of nylon or polyester synthetic fibers or a blend thereof, which are coated with a thermoplastic elastomer. The structural coated fabric is coated with a thermoplastic elastomer that is a urethane (TPU), or a TPU alloy polymer. Likewise, the patch is a urethane adhesive having a latent cure coated on a TPU film. The patch can also have an integral reinforcing fabric for applications requiring a higher tensile patch. In the invention, the urethane adhesive of the patch is solvent activated by the application of a thin coating of a volatile, substantially low odor, fugitive solvent like acetone or MEK. While in the activated state, the adhesive has much less cyrstallinity and a lot more tack.
