  • Patent number: 5312598
Abstract: A hopper system and electrostatic gun for injecting electrostatically charged sorbent particles into a polluted gas stream for inclusion in an apparatus that utilizes electrostatically charged sorbent particles for removing particulate matter and gases from a polluted gas stream. The invention includes a hopper system with a bin that is selected to hold a required volume of dry sorbent material and is arranged to feed a metered quantity of sorbent materials, preferably by a screw feed, to receive an air flow from a regenerative blower the air flow mixes with sorbent materials in a throat of a venturi line and transports that flow into a barrel an electrostatic gun. The air entrained sorbent materials travel around and along a charging wand that is centered longitudinally in the barrel bore, and is electrically connected to received a controlled voltage from a high voltage power supply.

  • Patent number: 5308590
Abstract: Apparatus arranged in a closed system for removing particulate matter and gases from a polluted gas stream that includes a sorbent particulate charging and injection gun for electrostatically charging sorbent particles and injecting them into a polluted gas stream to charge and agglomerize pollution particulates therein, the stream flowing into a collection system housing that contains a series of moving and static bed filters and provides for operations at pressures less than atmospheric, and at temperatures up to two thousand (2000) degrees F. The filter beds are maintained across the housing and spaced apart from front to back therein, each filter containing a media material selected for removing the charged agglomerized pollution and sorbent reacted particulates and reacting with gases in the polluted gas stream, providing for removal thereof to clean that gas stream that is then vented to atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 5301482
Abstract: A truss assembly for supporting showcases and the like includes a straight open box tube with end caps arranged for fitting over to close the box tube ends. A tension rod is fitted through the box tube and passes beneath a fulcrum arranged across the middle of the box tube, proximate to the inner surface of the box tube bottom, with the tension rod ends threaded and passed through holes that are formed through the end caps to receive a nut turned thereover. The nuts are turned against the end cap outer surfaces so as to create a tensile stress in the tension rod that is exerted through the fulcrum, tending to lift the fulcrum and box tube middle section, bowing the box tube upwardly counter a weight of a showcase containing items supported thereon, whereby the box tube is bent back to essentially a horizontal attitude. The truss assembly of the invention further provides for mounting the box tube ends to vertical support members so as to extend therebetween, maintaining a showcase thereon.

  • Patent number: 5221246
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting a user in an inverted position supported on their shoulder that includes foot members, an abdomen rest member, a support member, a pair of shoulder rest members that are disposed between the abdomen rest member and support member, and a pair of grip members that are disposed below the shoulder members. To use the apparatus, a user first bends their abdominal region over the abdomen rest member, positioning their shoulders above the shoulder rest members and grasps the grip members with their hands. They then rest their shoulders onto the shoulder rest members with their head fitted between which shoulder rest members. The user then pivots their hips and knees away from the abdomen rest member, straightening their legs, that engage the support member, at the backs of the legs or their hips, the support member supporting their legs in an inverted position.

  • Patent number: RE34293
Abstract: The invention provides a system for surgically implanting an allograft or prosthetic ligament as a replacement for a patient's cruciate ligaments. In a practice of the system, as a replacement for an anterior cruciate ligament, the patient's leg is bent and maintained at approximately a ninety degree (90.degree.) angle, a single incision is made medial to the tibial tuberosity, From this incision, under fluoroscopic and arthroscopic control, a guidewire is driven through the tibia and across the cruciate ligament junctions with the proximal tibia and distal femur ends and into the femur cortex.
