    Abstract: Disclosed is an insert for a modular jack assembly comprising an insulative member comprising a lower section having a base side and opposed front and rear sides and an upper section. The upper section has an upper side, a lower side and a terminal end interposed between said upper and said lower side. The upper section is superimposed over said lower section and extends from the lower side perpendicularly to said terminal ends. A first wire extends from adjacent the base side of the lower section longitudinally through the lower section and transversely through the upper section. It then extends perpenducularly adjacent the upper side of the upper section. A second wire extends from adjacent the base side of the lower section longitudinally through only part of the lower section and then angularly through the front side of the lower section. A third wire extends from adjacent the base side of the lower section longitudinally through the lower section and transversely across the upper section.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a retention device for fixing a component of an electrical connector to a printed circuit board which comprises a body having a central connecting receiving aperture and wings in planes normal to the body which have opposed inwardly extending latches and a pair of downwardly extending resilient latches. The lateral latches will engage ledges adjacent the housing of the receptacle while the downwardly depending latches will engage alignment slots in a mounting foot from the receptacle and the printed circuit board. The central connector receiving aperture will be engaged by a connector which fixes the nose shield to the pin receiving face of the receptacle.

The inward pins are used for inserting a memory card to be received in the carrier. A lower and a higher vertical circuit board is electrically connected to the outward pins of each header. These two vertical circuit boards are positioned in parallel spaced relation.     Abstract: A memory card connector which comprises a header (210, 210') and a carrier connected to the header, wherein the header is provided with a plurality of pins extended in both inward and outward directions. The inward pins are used for inserting a memory card to be received in the carrier. A vertical circuit board (214, 214') is electrically and securely connected to the outward pins of the header. The lower end of the vertical circuit board is detachably inserted into a connector (203, 203') securely mounted to the surface of a mainboard for electrical connection. Alternately a horizontal circuit board may be used to which the outward pins are diagonally attached and which is connected to the mainboard by a vertical connector. The height of the circuit board can be set according to the requirement of a specific application of the memory card connector so that the space between the memory card connector and the mainboard can be properly utilized.

    Abstract: A removable shroud latch for securing a printed circuit board (PCB) or second connector (device) to a first connector has a rectangular base which surrounds the first connector. The shroud latch engages the device by means of two pairs of inwardly biased arms that extend from the top of the elongated sides to engage opposite sides of either a hole in the PCB by means of knobs centered on the inward side of outwardly flared flanges at the upper ends of the arms or to an edge of the second connector. A plurality of inwardly extending shoulders on the bottom of the elongated sides engage the bottom edge of the first connector to prevent upward vertical movement of the shroud latch.

The user manually positions the selection button so as to only eject one of the upper or lower cards. Upon actuation of the selection button and subsequent ejection of the desired card from the selected upper or lower connector slot, the selection button returns to a pre-selection or initial position. The selection button includes a safety mechanism that prevents accidental ejection of the nonselected card.
