  • Patent number: 7528926
Abstract: An apparatus for printing spacers on a substrate of an LCD includes a spacer supply roller having a plurality of recesses formed in its exterior surface. A plurality of uniform volumes of an ink containing the spacers is loaded into the recesses and then transferred from the supply roller onto a transfer belt that is arranged to move tangentially with respect to the supply roller by means of a transfer roller and an auxiliary roller. The LCD substrate is then moved tangentially with respect to the moving transfer belt such that the ink volumes on the transfer belt are transferred onto the substrate at selected locations thereon. The continuously rotating components of the apparatus enable it to accommodate LCD panels of any size without the need for large spacer supply substrates and transfer rollers and prevent the inadvertent deposition of multiple layers of spacers on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7504342
Abstract: A method of fabricating a thin film transistor array substrate for a liquid crystal display includes the step of forming a gate line assembly with gate lines, gate electrodes and gate pads. After laying a plurality of layers on the substrate, a photoresist film is deposited onto the layers. The photoresist film is first exposed to light at a first light exposing unit, and secondly exposed to light at a second light exposing unit such that the photoresist film has three portions of different thickness. The photoresist pattern, and some of the underlying layers are etched to form a data line assembly, a semiconductor pattern, and an ohmic contact pattern. The data line assembly includes data lines, source and drain electrodes, and data pads. The remaining photoresist film is removed, and a protective layer is formed on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7414680
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel, a driver printed circuit board, a backlight assembly and a receiving container. The driver printed circuit board is electrically connected to the liquid crystal display panel to provide the liquid crystal display panel with the image date. The backlight assembly is disposed under the liquid crystal display panel. The receiving container has front side and back side. The front side supports the backlight assembly. First and second protrusion portions are formed on a backside to support the driver printed circuit board, such that the driver printed circuit board is spaced apart from the backside of the receiving container. Thus, a work for lifting up the data PCB to insert the digitizer into between the data PCB and the receiving container is not required, so that productivity is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7303987
Abstract: In a method of fabricating a thin film transistor array substrate for a liquid crystal display, a gate line assembly is formed on a substrate with a chrome-based under-layer and an aluminum alloy-based over-layer while proceeding in the horizontal direction. The gate line assembly has gate lines, and gate electrodes, and gate pads. A gate insulating layer is deposited onto the insulating substrate such that the gate insulating layer covers the gate line assembly. A semiconductor layer and an ohmic contact layer are sequentially formed on the gate insulating layer. A data line assembly is formed on the ohmic contact layer with a chrome-based under-layer and an aluminum alloy-based over-layer. The data line assembly has data lines crossing over the gate lines, source electrodes, drain electrodes, and data pads. A protective layer is deposited onto the substrate, and patterned to thereby form contact holes exposing the drain electrodes, the gate pads, and the data pads.

  • Patent number: 7297979
Abstract: A thin film transistor array panel comprising: an insulating substrate; gate lines formed on the insulating substrate; data lines defining a display region by intersecting the gate lines while being insulated; an electrostatic dispersion line intersecting the gate lines; diodes adhered to the gate lines and to the electrostatic dispersion line; and a repair line for repairing the data lines formed on the insulating substrate outside the display region and intersecting the electrostatic dispersion line while being insulated. According to the present invention, since static electricity flowing along the repair line is not transferred to the data lines, defects of a thin film transistor of the display region may be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7193595
Abstract: A gamma voltage generator of a liquid crystal display (LCD) capable of removing residual images by compensating a gamma voltage. The gamma voltage generation apparatus adjusts the common voltage by the kickback voltage for the intermediate gray level, and tunes the gamma voltages other than the intermediate gray level gamma voltage. The adjustment of the gamma voltages other than the intermediate gray level gamma voltage is achieved in such a manner that the difference between the intermediate gray level kickback voltage and the kickback voltage at one of the gray levels other than the intermediate gray level is equal to half of the difference between the sum of the two inverted gamma voltages representing the intermediate gray level gamma voltages and the sum of the two inverted gamma voltages corresponding to the selected gray level.

  • Patent number: 7148104
Abstract: In a nonvolatile memory, the select gates (144S) are formed from one conductive layer (e.g. polysilicon or polyside), and the wordlines (144) interconnecting the select gates are made from a different conductive layer (e.g. metal). The wordlines overlie an dielectric (302, 304, 310) formed over control gate lines (134). Each control gate line provides control gates for one column of the memory cells. The adjacent control gate lines for the adjacent memory columns are spaced from each other. The dielectric thickness can be controlled to reduce the capacitance between the wordlines and the control gates. In some embodiments, the floating gates (120) are fabricated in a self-aligned manner using an isotropic etch of the floating gate layer.

  • Patent number: 7133109
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes first and second substrates, a liquid crystal layer, a sealing member, and first and second spacers. The first substrate includes a first display part having a pixel electrode formed thereon. The second substrate includes a second display part having a common electrode. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates. The seal line includes a liquid crystal inlet. The first spacer is disposed between the first and second display parts. The second spacer is disposed near the liquid crystal inlet. The second and third spacers prevent the cell gap of the liquid crystal inlet from being narrowed, so that a liquid crystal material may be injected easily completely. Thus, the liquid crystal material is completely filled to enhance the display quality.

  • Patent number: 6819011
Abstract: A switching power converter controller controls a plurality of switching power converters which provide power to a host microprocessor. A watchdog timer in the switching power converter controller counts down a timer unless it receives reset signals from the host microprocessor and the watchdog timer issues an interrupt to the microprocessor if the watchdog timer expires. The microprocessor in the switching power converter controller provides a reset command to the host microprocessor in response to receipt of the interrupt. If the host microprocessor does not respond to the reset command, the microprocessor causes the switching power supply controller to power down the power converters.
