Abstract: A disposable portable toilet that is efficiently fabricated from foldable stock, such as corrugated cardboard, with minimal waste and adapted with a fluid absorbing inner liner is disclosed. Foldable stock material is formed as a blank sheet having a plurality of fold lines defining multiple panels disposed in side-by-side relation, and a joining tab. Each panel includes a fold-in tab that functions to provide a rim. The blank sheet provides a structure that may be configured to form a support structure that is selectively configurable from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration. An absorbent liner is insertedly received within the support structure. Padding sections are disposed on the liner in proximity to overlay the top rim of the support structure when the liner is received therein thereby providing the device with a padded upper rim. A drawstring functions as a closure member to close the liner after use.
Abstract: A patient and room status display device used to provide effective communication in healthcare environments. The display device uses a RGB (Red, Green and Blue) LED (Light Emitting Diode) to illuminate a dome light with any color, thus providing signals to healthcare workers representing different patient or room statuses. The display device can be operated through an external web-based interface, a nurse call master station or at least one user controlled actuator located on the display device. Each display device is mounted outside of every patient's room to provide multiple status signals for every patient in the hospital wing.

Abstract: A method and system to provide visualization of high resolution terrain for use in real-time simulation for digital image displays that is derived directly from source data including imagery, classification, elevation and vector data at run-time with little or no off-line manipulation of the source data. The fidelity of the visualization is scaled while based on the graphic system's capability readily available worldwide data exists for elevation vector and import runway data. System provides for facilitating run-time processing of source data utilizing a project file which lists each source file, desired attribute mapping and whether the source is enabled or disabled. For each source file a source proxy object is created in memory which references the target source file. The source proxy objects are stored in a vector manager in a spatial index to quickly determine which data sources intersect a given area. A spatial index can be queried for the proxies covering a requested geographical location.
Abstract: An interpersonal communication and an interactive information system, where a user can access a wireless local area network from any compatible mobile device and obtain information specific to the user's location and communicate with other mobile devices in the user's location through the wireless local area network.
Abstract: An alphanumeric data input system for entering text into portable electronic devices by making linear traces or taps with a thumb or finger on a touch sensitive lineographic keypad. This keypad is conveniently located on the upper and left part of the electronic device in order to facilitate the natural motion of the thumb thus avoiding fatigue and strain of the same. The system allows the user to enter operational commands on the keypad, as well as entering of letters of different alphabets such as the Latin Alphabet, Mathematical Greek and Russian Alphabets and possibly of alphabets of other foreign languages including Japanese, Chinese and Korean. This system can be used for entering a combination of letters to speed up the writing process, and enables the entering of punctuation marks, typographical symbols and a wide range of mathematical symbols.
Abstract: A restraint harness for a dog, particularly a dog of medium size and larger, including a conventional adjustable dog harness or collar and an attached control extension member. The control extension member includes a plurality of straps configured to extend to the hind end of the dog and a motion control cord that is interlaced in and between the conventional adjustable dog harness and the control extension member. The motion control cord encircles the dog's hind legs and can be tightened around the thighs with minimal force, where such tightening substantially restrains the dog without causing injury to the dog.
Abstract: A retirement fund program managed by computer software requiring an initial fixed investment and producing an ever increasing revenue stream to a group of participant investors organized by life expectancy and grouped into an investment partnership. A financial portfolio is created from the monies invested by each investor and is used to manage high quality securities to generate income for the partnership. Periodically, the surviving members of the partnership are entitled to receive the revenue generated from the portfolio, which statistically will increase as fewer participant investors survive. The partnership can purchase term life insurance on each participant investor, so that the initial investment can be returned to the estate of a participant investor if the participant investor becomes deceased during the program. Upon termination of the program, all remaining assets will be distributed pro rata among the living participant investors of the investment partnership.

Abstract: A personal locator beacon (PLB) that is used to transmit a radio frequency emergency distress signal. The PLB contains a GPS receiver to determine the exact global positioning coordinates of the beacon. The transmitted distress signal contains a security message that is represented through at least one bit. This bit is embedded into the standard bit string that is transmitted and can warn of impending danger at the beacon location, such as a hostage situation. The beacon is triggered through different varieties of user interfaces that utilize assorted combinations of actuators and numeric keypads. Another bit can also be embedded into the standard bit stream to represent whether or not the beacon is used by the military.
Abstract: A cordless hair dryer device comprising an ergonomically shaped handle, air cone, rechargeable lithium-type battery pack that releasably attaches to a battery mount on the back of the hair dryer, temperature controls, blower speed controls, DC motor, heater and battery pack charger. The handle is ergonomically designed for balance and comprises the heat and blower controls for convenient access and use. The heater comprises a tourmaline impregnated ceramic heater. Intake air flows over the tourmaline/ceramic heater producing negative ions so the hair does not become statically charged during the drying process. The air intake at the back of the hair dryer includes a removable filter to catch errant fibers and hair before they flow into the blower/heater area. The motor and tourmaline impregnated ceramic heater are mounted close to the battery pack in a manner that provides easier control.
Abstract: A portable utility light is provided for removable mounting to a surface, such as the side of an automobile, for providing temporary emergency lighting. The utility light includes a main body having first end portion adapted with mounting structure to facilitate removable attachment to a smooth surface, and a second end portion adapted with light emitting device, such as one or more light emitting diodes (“LED's”). The main body comprises an elongate generally cylindrical structure wherein the first and second portions are connected and capable of rotation relative to one another about an elongate axis. The main body first end includes a battery compartment for housing a battery power source, and is further adapted with a plurality of circumferentially spaced articulating legs.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for tarpless fumigation of containerized cargo within a shipping container is disclosed. A portable fumigation containment door is installed in covering relation with main rear opening of a standard cargo container. Pneumatic cylinders are actuated to secure the door in place, and an inflatable gasket extending around the perimeter of the containment door and is inflated to create an airtight seal between the cargo container and the containment door. The door is provided with a series of connection ports for receiving fumigant injection and sampling lines necessary for performing the fumigation process.
Abstract: A method, a combined cellular, PDA communication device and system having specialized software applications for allowing a plurality of combined cellular phone/PDA device users to monitor each others' locations and status, to initiate cellular phone calls by touching a symbol on the touch screen display with a stylus which can also include point to call conferencing calling. Each participant's cellular phone/PDA device includes a GPS navigation receiver with application software for point to call cellular phone initiation to participants and geographical entities including vehicles, persons or events, conference calls and video transfers.
