  • Patent number: 4805388
Abstract: A crop gathering head 10 including crop gathering belt 11, 12 of reinforced elastomeric material and its associated driving sprocket 30 and idler sheave 50 is described. The belt 11 or 12, sprocket 30 and sheave 50 system may be used to convey crops into a combine. The belt 11 or 12 includes a plurality of cleats 20 of elastomeric material on its top surface 18 and a plurality of equally spaced driving lugs 24 of elastomeric material on its bottom surface 19. The sprocket 30 has first and second sides 31, 32 respectively and comprises a plurality of equally spaced apart radially projecting teeth 33 separated by first and second cavities 34, 34' respectively. The first cavities 34 are open only to the first side 31 of the sprocket 30. The second cavities 34' are open only to the second side 32 of the sprocket 30.

  • Patent number: 4795016
Abstract: This invention is a fluid actuator of the rolling lobe form in which a closed toroidal flexible membrane forms concentric rolling lobes on the inside and outside surfaces of an annular piston which moves axially into the membrane. The fluid actuator can be used in brake and clutch assemblies where the actuator is connected to a high pressure fluid source and serves to activate the brake or clutch assembly, a shaft or axle can pass through the center of the toroid.

  • Patent number: 4654392
Abstract: There is disclosed, in a microsuspension polymerization process for producing homopolymers and copolymers of vinyl chloride, having a dispersion step and a seed polymerization step, the improvement wherein butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) is added to the dispersion step and, wherein, when necessary to control temperature, additional BHA is added to the seed polymerization step. There is also disclosed a homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride produced by the improved process.

  • Patent number: 4650004
Abstract: A fire extinguishing apparatus for dispensing a dry chemical agent from a container by using a suitable supply of compressed gas such as carbon dioxide. The compressed gas is used to fluidize the chemical agent and carry the agent to a hand manipulated nozzle which is aimed at the fire. The extinguishing apparatus is actuated by removing a safety pin from the actuating lever, depressing the lever depresses a plunger valve that opens a passage from the container to the nozzle outlet and simultaneously transfers a linear motion to a tubular spool through a connecting lever. The tubular spool punctures a seal on a compressed gas cartridge releasing the gas into the container aerating the dry chemical and transporting it through the open plunger valve and out the nozzle.
