  • Patent number: 4516274
Abstract: A flexible harness for holding earcups in position about the ears of the rer which extends from one side of the wearer's head around the neck to the other side of the head. The harness, which is secured within a rigid protective helmet, has two U-shaped end portions and a nape portion. Drawstrings are sewn onto each side of each U-shaped end portion and are connected to the opposing length of drawstring by an adjustable fastener. The drawstrings engage a channel on the periphery of each earcup and allow for the vertical and rotational adjustment in the position of the earcup.

  • Patent number: 4500592
Abstract: A tent insulation liner which functions to both retain heat within the tent uring the winter heating season and reduce the external heat load during the summer air conditioning season. The liner is positioned on the interior side of an outer tent shell and is formed by alternating plies of fibrous flame retardant (FR) polyester batting, metallic reflective film and fibrous FR polyester batting and having fiberglass fabric as external cover layers. Optimum insulative properties were found to occur when a three-ply quilting arrangement was employed in which each fiberglass fabric layer was quilted to the adjacent FR batting layer and the two metallic film layers were quilted together with a FR batting layer between.

  • Patent number: H35
Abstract: This invention provides a method of producing dehydrated meat products wh more easily and completely rehydrate than prior art dehydrated meats. This is accomplished by expansion of the cooked meat matrix by the addition of water, salt, phosphate and adjunctive hydrophilic ingredients prior to cooking. This invention is intended for use with formed meats consisting of a combination of chunked, flaked and ground or emulsified meats. The use of a gas and moisture impermeable casing for cooking the meat allows the meat to be fully cooked without concurrent losses in either weight or volume, thus preventing density increase prior to dehydration.

  • Patent number: H70
Abstract: A method of producing a nutritionally dense, freeze dried food item usually n bar form in which uncooked food ingredients are mixed together and then cooked until about 40% to about 60% of the water content is removed by evaporation. Then the partially dried mixture is formed into the desired shape, then frozen and dehydrated to a moisture level which would produce a shelf-stable product. The freeze dried bars are packaged in impermeable containers. Food bars prepared by this method rehydrate faster and to a greater extent than food bars prepared by processes incorporating a compression step.
