Abstract: A convertible system which is changeable from a portable storage mode to a display mode is formed by a first container, a second container and conversion material. The second container and the conversion material are held within the first container when the system is in the storage mode and the conversion material is removable from the first container and used to convert the system from the storage mode to the display mode.
Abstract: An electrolytic cell comprised of a tank for holding electrolytic solution, and a drum rotatable about a horizontal axis having a non-conductive cylindrical outer surface disposed within the tank, and a plurality of elongated, like anodes arranged about the outer surface of the drum. The anodes together form a generally continuous cylindrical surface spaced from, and generally conforming to, the outer surface of the drum. Each of the anodes has at least one end projecting through the tank. A plurality of power sources is provided together with connection means for connecting groups of one or more of the projecting ends of the anodes to each power source.

Abstract: The present invention provides a rotary electronic component with a push switch which includes a single control knob for assuredly and individually operating a rotary component portion and a push switch. The rotary electronic component with the push switch comprises a rotary component portion such as an encoder portion including a rotary body horizontally rotatable in a fixed position, a knob shaft, a control knob fitted concentrically around the outer periphery of the knob shaft, a resilient portion disposed between the knob shaft and the inner periphery of the control knob, and a push switch portion located outside the control knob, wherein the rotary component portion is actuated by the horizontal rotation of the control knob and the push switch portion is actuated by the horizontal movement of the control knob.
Abstract: A delivery access device attachable to a currency dispenser comprising: a mounting plate attachable to the currency dispenser, the plate having a money dispensing slot; two separate and independent barrier members mounted within the money dispensing slot, each barrier member having a first position where it is retracted and a second position where it is extended to obstruct access to the slot; two separate and independent actuators, a first of which is for moving one of the barrier members between its retracted and extended position, and a second of which is for moving a second of the barrier members between its retracted and extended position; and an electrical connector for connecting the actuators to the circuitry of the currency dispenser.

Abstract: A device for providing a ski with additional stiffness with respect to bending in the transverse and longitudinal directions of the ski. The stiffening elements which provide the stiffening may be combined with ski bindings.
Abstract: An electronic lock system for controlling access to a plurality of enclosures each having an openable and closeable panel. The system is comprised of a lock mechanism mounted to each of the panels. The lock mechanism has a lock member movable between a first position locking the panel and a second position unlocking the panel. Each of the lock mechanisms has a specific access code allowing movement of the lock member from the first position to the second position. An identification system is provided for identifying individuals authorized for access to one or more of the enclosures. A processing system stores information regarding access codes for each of the enclosures and individual identification information for identifying the enclosure to which an authorized individual is allowed access. A portable key device is used with the lock mechanisms on the panels; the key device having memory programmable by the processing system for storing an access code to a lock mechanism on one of the panels.

Abstract: A device for treating fluid, particularly polluted water such as add-sulphate water. The device includes a stainless steel chamber which is provided with buoyancy pontoons allowing it to float in communication with the polluted water in a reservoir. The chamber is provided at both ends with openings which allow water to flow freely into and out of the chamber for treatment. A trap door provides an entry for water treatment reagent and a motor and gearing system rotates the chamber about its axis. The rotation of the chamber combined with the action of the internal mixer flights serve to agitate the water and reagent mix with a milling action.
Abstract: A lock assembly for locking and unlocking a door comprising a lock bar moveable between a locked and unlocked position, three locks, each of which have lock arms moveable between a locked and an unlocked position, and a linkage connecting the lock arms to the lock bar. The linkage has a first operating configuration whereby the lock bar moves from its locked to its unlocked position in response to the movement of any pair of lock arms from their locked to their unlocked position. The linkage also has a second operating configuration whereby the lock bar moves from its locked to its unlocked position in response to either movement by a predetermined pair of lock arms from their locked to unlocked position or the movement of the third lock arm from its locked to unlocked position.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for grinding. Based on a vertical shaft impactor, a method is disclosed which provides improved results by allowing materials to be ground in a wet form. The grinding apparatus includes supply lines (171, 172) and inlets (170, 187) which allow material to be supplied in such a form.
Abstract: A display device for manually liftable small articles. The display device secures the articles in a manner which allows for close examination and which prevents their theft or loss. The display device does not require modification or alteration of the articles.

Abstract: A system for damping and/or stiffening a ski having a damping member and a stiffening member which are engageable and disengageable through the operation of a clutch. The clutch is engaged by a change in a threshold condition, such as a shift in the skier's weight during skiing. Engagement of the clutch engages the damping member and/or stiffening member. The system maintains the damping member and/or stiffening member in a disengaged condition until the skier commences a turn, engages the damping member and/or the stiffening member during the turn, and disengages the damping member and/or the stiffening member once the turn is completed.
Abstract: A method of bonding glass-based optical elements comprising the steps of positioning a first glass-based optical element relative to a second glass-based optical element, applying a glass-based bonding compound about the first and second optical elements, and applying sufficient localized heat to the glass-based bonding compound to cause the glass-based bonding compound to soften and fuse with the optical elements.
