Abstract: A fender protective structure includes a top layer of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene on a resilient layer comprised of a rubber and plastic alloy. Bore holes are provided in the resilient layer for permitting bulging to facilitate energy absorption when the fender protective structure is impacted by a moving object.
Abstract: Equipment for binding a skier to a water ski or skiboard, including two boot assemblies, and a releasable binding assembly mounted onto the ski or skiboard in order to bind these boot assemblies. Each boot assembly includes at least one flexible foot holder which covers all or part of the foot, ankle, and lower end of the leg, a lockable rigid supporting structure (30) covering all or part of the foot holder and having at least one sole with a heel, a metatarsal strap, an instep strap, an upper and portions for engaging the releasable binding assembly each binding assembly including two releasable rear safety abutments and forming a self-contained assembly for each boot assembly.
Abstract: A seat belt pillow having a web and two arms of uniform thickness in a non-compressed state, each of the arms having an external surface with a pair of spaced attachment zones for insertion of a vehicle seat belt therebetween, and at least one attachment patch for attachment to the respective zones on an associated arm, whereby the spaced attachment zone and the attachment patch provide a passage for a vehicle seat belt to move freely through the passage relative to the pillow.
Abstract: A waste water treatment system for wharf-mooring or riding-at-anchor vessels, boats, ships and watercraft in general, comprising a number of tanks adapted to be submerged and each provided with a respective drawing tube having a connector plug for watertight connection to a waste water outlet of a respective boat or the like. The tanks are connected to a self-contained purification installation for intaking and treating the sewage.
Abstract: A system for damping and/or stiffening a ski having a damping member and a stiffening member which are engageable and disengageable through the operation of a switch member. The switch member is engaged by a change in a threshold condition, such as a shift in the skier's weight during skiing. Engagement of the switch member engages the damping member and/or stiffening member. The system maintains the damping member and/or stiffening member in a disengaged condition until the skier commences a turn, engages the damping member and/or the stiffening member during the turn, and disengages the damping member and/or the stiffening member once the turn is completed.

Abstract: A device reducing the deleterious torque in a shock absorbing, rotary drive coupling unit used with a rotary mine drilling machine comprising: a drive plate connectable to a drive shaft of the rotary drilling machine, a driven plate connectable to a driven shaft which has a drill bit, a center portion for coupling the drive plate to the driven plate wherein the center portion includes a deformable shock, vibration and torque-absorbing member, and torque-relief means comprised of a first engagement member(s) connectable to the drive plate and a second engagement member(s) connectable to the driven plate. When the drill bit snags or jams during the operation of the rotary drilling machine, the torque-absorbing member deforms and absorbs some of the torque generated therefrom.
Abstract: A portable unitary apparatus is provided herein for disposing of hazardous light bulbs, e.g., fluorescent bulbs. The apparatus includes an open-topped, multi-compartmented container of circular cylindrical cross-section, having three compartments and a hinged covering lid. The lower surface of the lid is connected to a reduction chamber, having an axial inlet means for a bulb to be pulverized and an axial outlet leading directly to the collection compartment. A rigid unitary pulverizing blade is secured to the drive shaft of an electric motor. A light bulb feed chute extends through the lid, and extends from above the lid to the reduction chamber. A disposable pulverized light bulb collection bag is selectively-disposed within the collection compartment in air-sealed relationship to the axial outlet means of the reduction chamber. A vacuum motor is operatively-disposed within the lower exhaust chamber.
Abstract: A spacer-plate arrangement that influences the vibration behavior of a ski. The spacer-plate arrangement having a rear spacer-plate part with a flexurally rigid, plate-type flat continuation portion that projects into a cutout on the front spacer-plate part.

Abstract: A bearing mount assembly is installed in opposed relation to a roll support frame with the pass line interposed therebetween, the bearing mount assembly being provided with bearings capable of removably supporting the front ends of roll shafts carried on the roll support frame. In roll exchange operation, the bearing mount assembly is moved away from the roll support frame and has its bearings removed therefrom, whereupon the bearing mount assembly is turned from this raised position to a flat position to provide a roll exchange operation space defined above the bearing mount assembly, making it possible to effect roll exchange operation.
Abstract: A blower assembly for a pneumatic transfer tube system alternately creates a pressure or a vacuum in a transfer tube. The blower is comprised of a housing having an internal cavity and a first and a second external port communicating with the cavity. A movable plate divides the internal cavity into two chambers which are generally isolated from each other. A blower having a vacuum end and a pressure end is mounted to the plate, wherein the vacuum end is on one side of the plate and the pressure end is on the other side of the plate. The blower when operating creates a pressure chamber on one side of the plate and a vacuum chamber on the other side of the plate.

Abstract: A working protection cover 1, 8 for preventing a vehicle body from becoming damaged during an automobile assembly line operation is free from the possibility of easily slipping off position upon mere contact of an operator with the cover, and has good durability. The working protection cover 1, 8 comprises a thermoplastic resin sheet 9 and a cloth-made sheet 10 bonded to the back of the thermoplastic resin sheet 9. The working protection cover 1, 8 has a non-slip tape 17 bonded to the back thereof, the non-slip tape 17 being made from a foam material made from a polyolefin resin and a synthetic rubber in combination. The working protection cover 1, 8 is fitted with a locking element 24, 40 for locking the cover 1, 8 to a vehicle body.
Abstract: A ski boot is supported vertically on a ski by means of a rigid support member, approximately in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the tibia of the skier's leg. The support member increases the ground pressure of the center region of the ski.
